Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman was caught exaggerating his resume and his role in the White House to congressional lawmakers in Tuesday’s round of public hearings during the Democrats’ partisan impeachment proceedings.
Vindman previously claimed in his opening statement to be the “principal advisor to the National Security Advisor and the president on Ukraine and the other countries in my portfolio.”
When asked about the claim however by Republican Congressman Mike Turner of Ohio, Vindman admitted to having never met, spoken with, or advised the president on anything.

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."
The Lt Col might want to review this....

It's scary to think that you can gain the rank of Lt. Col. and not know the chain of command. The President is your commanding officer.

I found it interesting that the Democrats heaped praises on Vindman regarding his Purple Heart for which Vindam stated that he was back in service shortly after the IED explosion. Sounds like a "bump on the head". Paging John Kerry!

As a 28 year Army wife, I have to say there are lots of these desk jockeys with inflated egos who have done nothing of value or note floating around the Pentagon constantly on the lookout for their next very safe assignment. General Colin Powell is another example of this type of political soldier. Both have a very high opinion of themselves...with little field experience.
I laughed out loud when Vindman accidentally admitted that he was the guy who leaked the call to the vaunted WhistleBlower/leaker. It was a wonderful moment.

And how ! Nets evening news did a PR job on Vindman last night, bolstering him as best they could...including cutesy childhood photos when he immigrated to the US at age 3. Those meager details of his purple heat were ignored. i understand he returned to duty the same day.

All because he never actually ever met with Trump doesn't mean his advice passed through channels wasn't given great weight...you know.
Some day this decorated veteran will run for office...

Yes, he did. We watched this pathetically pompous little popinjay have to roll back a number of his claims - especially the ludicrous one about his advising the President (whom he had never met) - from his prepared resume. He pulled his military address stunt on Nunes when everyone knows that he goes to work every day in a business suit. He does not wear his uniform on the job. I wonder what they call him there. He vows he is a strong adherent to chain of command, yet he took his “concern” that the President had said something “improper” to the president of Ukraine to (first)his brother, the NSC lawyer; then with bro to Eisenberg, chief NSC lawyer. Never to Morrison, his immediate superior.
They should find a place for him, downstairs, down a hall and around a corner, where he can do no harm to himself or others.

PS. The irony is that the thing the President supposedly said was in the talking points Vindman provided to him (via chain of command) - the business about routing out corruption. The President didn’t say it, but Vindman included that phrase in the summary (readout) that he gave to the press and others. He had to admit to that yesterday, too. He has dug himself one heck of a hole. And he was Schiff’s star witness after the “whistleblower” became radioactive.

Just looking at Vindman's fat, cowardly face prompts one to believe that he is a fake military officer, just like Jon Fraud Kerry was. All glitter and shoe polish. How many good soldiers left the military after being subjected to this poseur? "Call me Lieutenant Colonel!"

Lt. Col. Vindman, with such a stellar record, is just the person we need to negotiate with the penguins in Antarctica. Peace must be maintained on the South Pole!

The only lieutenant colonel I ever knew was head of the Memorandum Receipts department at the Marine Corps Supply Depot in Barstow. CA. I was a 17 year old Marine bride, who handled paperwork for everything from pencil sharpeners to heavy equipment. He (or someone above him) decided it was time for an inventory of the whole place (!). An expensive typewriter was found to be missing. All H*** broke loose. It eventually turned up in the lieutenant colonel’s own garage.

#5 you have it right. Colin Powell did just the opposite of normal officer progression. Instead of spending two to three years in command of a corps and a few months in a WH holding position, he did the reverse. He spent eight months as a corps commander to punch his ticket and three years in the WH. He was Vindman magnified.
BTW, his "resume" is boiler plate OER material for his position. It should have never made it into a bio or a background brief. That it did further attests to his deceptive nature.
