A North Carolina county removed a Confederate statue from a historic courthouse early on Wednesday, joining the handful of places around the state where such monuments have come down in recent years despite a law protecting them. News outlets reported that a subdued crowd of several dozen people watched as the statue of a soldier was taken down overnight outside the historic Chatham county courthouse, where it had stood since 1907. By dawn, even the base was gone. The removal comes months after Winston-Salem officials removed a Confederate statue from land there that had passed into private hands. Protesters have also torn down

Laws don't matter. They'll find a way. The statue can be non-threatening and innocuous, as this was--A young soldier, exhausted and alone, resting against his rifle, butt on the ground. Not exactly a General Lee, charging on horseback.

This removed statue will join previous removals such as Presidents McKinley and Wilson, Columbus, composer Stephen Foster and singer Kate Smith and Ten Commandment memorials. There are campaigns underway for the removal of the Jefferson Memorial, Andrew Jackson equestrian statue, Joan of Arc, and Mount Rushmore.

Why are people putting up with this destruction of our nation's history? This is exactly what the communists and the Taliban do to erase the history, language, and culture of the lands they conquer. Why is everyone meekly standing by and watching it happen?

Salt Lake City—A Utah woman charged with a crime after her stepchildren saw her topless in her own home is fighting the case that could force her to register as a sex offender, pointing to a court ruling that overturned a topless ban in Colorado and helped fuel a movement. Rudolph strongly denied the accusation, both through the team and his attorney. “This is a lie. Joe Biden really put his fist in his mouth this time. The former vice president had a cringe-worthy moment late in Wednesday’s fifth Democratic presidential primary debate when he used the words “keep punching at it” to answer a question about violence against women. Asked what could be done to address sexual violence and harassment against women, Biden said he’s authored the original Violence Against Women Act and that its reauthorization needs to pass. He also talked about changing the culture on college campuses and touted the “It’s on Us” movement created in the Obama Administration.
