As Week 11 came to a close, it was clear that many fans are still avoiding stadiums all across the country even as the league looks to expand its influence to foreign nations such as Mexico and the U.K. The Detroit Lions were defeated by the Dallas Cowboys, 35-27, at Ford Field, but some fans noticed that the seats seemed a bit empty: (Tweet/Photo) While the Baltimore Ravens totally trounced the Houston Texans 41-7, there were those who felt that there were an awful lot of empty seats at M&T Bank Stadium.

Why would anyone go to a stadium to watch a football game when you can watch it for free on tv? No parking. No tickets. No long lines at the comfort stations. No over priced food. Plus if the game is boring you can watch something else.

Based on the last Thur's new low in NFL thuggery (e.g, Browns future felon hitting unhelmeted opposing QB over the head with a helmet) I suspect the league will morf into the NFMMAL - - National Football Mixed Martial Arts League, where undocumented DACA types (e.g., foreign murderers and drug cartel members) will become the 'best' draft source.

Well considering the NFL, standing for Not For Long, half a try out for Kaperdickhead. From what I saw it was just him playing catch with a couple dudes. But mostly it was a huge opportunity for CK to sign autographs and have his picture taken with young women. I’m sure he scored some phone numbers and hotel keys from babes that don’t mind taking a knee. So all in all it was a great day for him.

Pardon my ignorance about NFL football, the only games I watched were Rose Bowls and Super Bowls with my family and into my 20's - when they were just an excuse to party. I'd love to boycott the NFL, but they never had me. That said; last week there were stories about the Kneeler getting a private try-out (that later turned out to be more of a PR stunt) - why would there be tryouts at the end of the season for an over-30 quarterback that hasn't played for 3 years?

Obnoxious drunks who think football to actually be meaningful in life holding huge signs in front of your face and swearing like drunken sailors...no thanks! Plus, I can switch to a premium channel and watch and movie and pause when I go back to the game...if I do! As a Vikings fan I also know that my team will NEVER go anywhere in the playoffs and if they do, they will lose! I was a broken hearted fan every year until I quit following them. America's team, however, did win on Saturday! Iowa gave PJ Fleck's 9 and 0 Gophers a good old fashion lesson in "rowing the boat"! Fleck even charged onto the field because we leveled on of his receivers after a missed catch and was penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct! This pulled Iowa out of the Gophers end of the field and helped seal the glorious win! Seriously...a GOPHER...with buck teeth? At least Iowa chose a literary character in Hawkeye from Last of The Mohicans...

Actions have consequences.
NFL permitting many players to disrepect the flag and the national anthem makes a lot of people to choose to not do business with the NFL. Angering paying customers can turn them into non-paying non-customers.
Just like I choose not to go to the Ford-Ferrari racing battle movie, even though I am a big racing fan, especially of endurance racing, because Matt Damon is in it, and I despise Damon for his leftism and anti-Trump nastiness.

If any team hires the fuller brush hair man, there will be even more empty seats. Maybe the NFL can do what demonrats always do when they run out of money - raise stadium prices to the point where nobody shows up.

I looked at the pictures. There’s way too many filled seats!

Went to a game in High School once. It was cold, boring and seemingly pointless. A bunch of gorillas fighting over an oval shaped ball that they are going to give back later. Whoopee. Watched a game at home on TV once too. Just as boring and pointless, but not as cold.
I just cant seem to rustle up any interest.

There always seems to be a capacity crowd at Lambeau Field. Teams with losing records look about 50%, at best. The NFL does its best to disguise poor attendance.

I think the publicity around Kaeperknick's "Tryout" may have been the final straw for some fans. They may have been those fans who gave up their seats during the "take a knee" debacle. Some of them may have drifted back, but after reading that the League actually sent 25 or more of their people to see Colin throw around a Football they decided that was "it" for them.
Hubby and I went to see MIDWAY yesterday at 12:30. The Theater was packed! Nobody seemed to care if they were missing football!

WOW! Even one of the teams failed to show, as the Detroit picture proves. Look at the sideline...the team bench is empty. And it looks like more than a few "participants" on the field failed to wear their equipment.
This is all bullstuff. When was the photo made? Apparently before the game while the crowd was out tailgating. As for those who "never watch" and "don't care"...how would you know?

I could not be more delighted. There is a time and and ending for almost everything. Professional sports has more than eaten up it's 15 minutes of prime time.
