In New York City on Friday the Dow Jones Industrial Average soared to 28,004, a new record. In fact all major U.S. stock indexes hit new highs, and the SNP 500 hit its longest streak of weekly gains in two years. Put simply, it was a really good day for the economy.
Meanwhile in Washington, the public phase of the House impeachment inquiry slogged along, with Democrats all but conceding that even if they vote to impeach, the removal of the president by the Senate is all but certainly not going to happen.

FTA - "Instead, as their public hearings plod along the stock market is soaring and America is going about its business."
While Marcus stopped short of saying the dims just committed political suicide, he at least informs that the dims now realize the grave mistake they have made. Like a true loyalist though, Marcus completely avoids the obvious in his piece - that it was his profession, the msm having reduced itself to merely an extension of social media, that cooked the goose of the dim party. Assuming they still has a reflection, all the dim party and the msm can do now is look at themselves in the mirror and wonder if they would have been better off getting on the Trump train instead.

It is not "Political disruption" the Market is scared of. It is the return to confiscatory taxation, crippling regulations, return to anemic growth and energy dependence that scares the daylights out of them. Lets not confuse the basics.

I wonder how Krugman is doing these days. He proclaimed to the world that PDT’s election would crash the market and the economy forever. Heh heh.
Obviously, investors aren’t the least bit concerned about the Schiff-show going on in the House and are betting on PDT to win this. And why wouldn’t he? He has beat the pants off them on everything since he came down the escalator.

The fact is that the market already realizes Trump will win the 2020 election AND that corporations will continue to bring trillions of dollars, which they'd parked overseas to avoid Obama taxation, back into the USA for investment. The U.S. workforce is employed, wages rising, new business starts is up, and corporations happy. This is THE most business friendly POTUS we have seen since, Ronald Reagan, and its showing. Now to extend tax cuts, and remove more oppressive regulations.

The President is not going to be removed from office. We understand that the democrats in the House can change their rules and play political games all day long, simply because they are in the majority. They can vote to ''impeach'' the President, even without facts or evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors. They can abuse the Constitution and the American citizens to their heart's desire, using the citizen's money and time, as long as they don't have to suffer any consequences.
An impeachment is not removal from office. Removal from office is an entirely different matter and will not be done without clear, undisputed, and compelling evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors. It will not be done for partisan political impeachment.
If there was a democrat majority in the Senate and that body voted to remove the President in this situation, there would be a civil war. The American people are very tolerant of political shenanigans, and even the waste of their money for partisan political activities, but when tolerance is used up the ''sleeping giant'' (to quote the Japanese after Pearl Harbor in 1941) will arise!

We have a business CEO that knows what he is doing. Finally, our economy is being freed of the shackles of socialism. Can you imagine the disaster we would have with an economy ran by Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, or the socialist puppet, Joe Biden?

I just love watching the growth of my 401k. If you have a pension or college fund you should also be thanking God that President Trump has Made America Wealthy Again. 28,000!!!
No matter how many more medals the Chiefs of Staff pin on Vindman our support for Trump will not waver. The CIA has gone rogue, they too love Ukraine more than they love America.

During the Obama years, we were being told to get used to the new normal. I'll never understand how big business and the rich could side with the left so much. They lost so much.

This was the clear message from the stock market (a market of ideas and opinions, as much as anything) when it continued upward, that they are convinced that impeachment is not going to happen, and that Trump's beneficial economic and trade policies will continue to help the US market.
#3, I am sure Krugman is still an economic ignoramus, always wrong, and, yet, still being paid by NYT to publish his "wrongnesses".

When you consider that earlier the Democrats and MSM were talking gloom and doom to drive the economy into a recession to get President Trump, It is nice to see they failed at that also. The economy is booming in spite of the Democrats attempts to destroy it.
