Ivanka Trump meets with female
landowners on Morocco trip

Original Article

SIDI KACEM, Morocco — Visiting Morocco for the first time, Ivanka Trump received a warm welcome Thursday from housewives, widows and other women who are benefiting from new laws that allow them to own land. One woman expressed her gratitude by embracing President Donald Trump’s daughter and kissing her hands. Ivanka Trump is a senior White House adviser who works on women’s issues and has sought through an initiative to encourage developing countries to help women build wealth and financial independence by owning land or other property. Morocco is one such nation. Working in partnership with the Millennium Challenge Corp., a U.S. aid agency, Morocco has updated its land titling laws

Comments:

Some purported “Trump supporters” have nevertheless bashed his daughter for no apparent reason. She has done nothing wrong, she is an excellent representative for his administration in her niche of women’s affairs, and she receives no salary. She gave up her own lucrative business. Along with this she appears to be a devoted wife and mother. I admire her.

How old is Morocco? 500 years? Older? And women JUST got the right to own land? Wow! If this only happened because Donald Trump is president, it is commendable of his Administration that it got done. Welcome to the 17th century, Morocco! Now, try to keep it going.

So..... Ivanka "strutted" her way into a ceremony?? Snark much??? I highly doubt that she strutted. She is beautiful with good posture and self-confidence. I guess that translates to "strutting" in Ms. Superville's mind. Ivanka has a full resume of her own apart from her Dad. Totally different than another First Daughter that comes to mind. You know......the one whose mother has to grease her way through life.

As my neighbor says, compare our current President’s accomplished adult children to the last three presidents. Nuf said, I believe. Ivanka is a marvelous example for young American ladies at a time we really need them.

I agree wholeheartedly with all your accolades above; she is truly unique in so many ways! And, to top it off, she understands that making inroads via the rewards of capitalism into many of these more primitive countries, especially and cleverly via women, is likely the only way to achieve long-term prosperity and success.

By most everyone’s judgment, the Senate will not vote to remove President Donald Trump from office if the House impeaches him. But what if senators could vote on impeachment by secret ballot? If they didn’t have to face backlash from constituents or the media or the president himself, who knows how many Republican senators would vote to remove? A secret impeachment ballot might sound crazy, but it’s actually quite possible.(Snip) Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said he will immediately move to hold a trial to adjudicate the articles of impeachment if and when the Senate receives them from the House of Representatives.

There’s no doubt Kanye West has found religion. Listen to the musically arresting “Jesus is King,” and you’ll hear a powerful, positive case for a personal relationship with G-d. But will secular Americans heed his call? Considering that we’re living in historically peaceful and prosperous times, it’s notable how misery stalks many Americans like a shadow. Countless government programs have tried to fix what ails us, at least since the Great Society got going, and it never quite works. That’s why I’m hoping Kanye’s music will inspire more Americans to join his religious journey.

A California board voted to enact tougher energy efficiency standards for lightbulbs, pushing back against a rollback from the Trump administration. A new rule from the Department of Energy (DOE) eliminates energy efficiency standards for half the bulbs on the market, a move critics say will make the U.S. a dumping ground for energy-sucking, cost-ineffective bulbs. The vote from the California Energy Commission essentially bars sales of incandescent and halogen bulbs by adopting stronger energy efficiency standards. The state banned the sale of such pear-shaped bulbs in 2018, but the rule will now extend to all other shapes of bulbs —
