Montgomery County is now the first county in the nation to ban discrimination based on hairstyle.
Earlier this week, the council passed the measure unanimously.
The CROWN Act – which has been passed in California and New York – gives residents a legal recourse if their hairstyle impacts their employment status, or if they’re denied service because of it. Montgomery County Council President Nancy Navarro said the CROWN Act “seeks to advance racial equity” by defining Protected Hairstyles.

So when the have nasty, greasy, disgusting hair that looks horrible, you need to keep them in their public service jobs, even if it drives away customers. Dreadlocks on any person look really disgusting to me, as an example.
I can't remember where I read about the right to harm your employer's business in the Constitution.

If someone applies for a job, and has a hairdo like Radaghast The Brown (from the LOTR stories, the Hobbit, complete with a bird's nest!) I can't imagine being seriously considered for the position. All the rejecttion has to say is that they've decided to pursue candidates with more appropriate experience.

Ok so when someone who is otherwise not a viable candidate happens to be sporting some radical bizarre hairdo they get to sue based on the claim that the hair was the issue. We'll have people convicted of a crime based on reading their minds.

Sounds like these two Counties/States are trying their best to drive away business and professions.

Our indiscriminate acceptance and application of anti-discrimination principles will eventually spread to an effort to outlaw discrimination on the basis of competence. So employers will be obligated to offer jobs to applicants whether the latter are qualified or not.

Well, of course. Hiring people based on competence, experience and qualifications is discrimination. Hiring people based on appearance is certainly discrimination and is judgemental. A greater injustice than discrimination, in my opinion, is telling owners of private businesses how to run their business and who they may or may not hire. The government now tells us who we must do business with and who we must associate with, and that is counter to all of our liberties.

I’m not hiring someone with a blue mohawk and I don’t care what their qualifications are. That is not the image we want to show our customers. So sue me.

Total BS. The people you put on the front lines of your business project the image of the entire business. Cherry red dreadlocks, visible tattoos, obesity, all of it. I reserve the right to hire the best available and if the rejects want to file a lawsuit, go for it. I can hire better lawyers than they can.

Looks like the council has nothing to do? What next? Booger noses cannot be discriminated against?

Of course, 1-in-5 managers won't hire pro-Trump workers, but they can continue that discriminating and become a shining example for us all.

And yet there is no protection for medical or university employees who oppose infanticide/abortion?.
What a sick bunch of judges we have in the USA.

So, one can have a ridiculous hairstyle to match the ridiculous name, and sane people are mandated to respeck it.

Generally speaking, people with outlandish hairdos are pretty much screwed up to begin with and that will show in their previous employment and/or lack of basic competence. A good HR manager will always have better-qualified applicants he can point to that he hired over the guy with greasy dreds down to his shoulders if the dred guy sues.

This sounds like every business needs a good employee handbook with a carefully worded dress code and hygiene standards.

I don't think dreadlocks can be washed. Girl on TV once said, when hers were cut off and the remaining hair washed, that this was the first time in years her hair had been washed. That's just nasty on any job.

Montgomery County lets criminal illegals victimize citizens, but protects hairstyles. You have to set priorities, after all.
