On October 24, fifty of the fifty-three Republicans in the United States Senate sponsored a resolution calling on the House of Representatives to initiate a formal impeachment proceeding that provided "due process" to the president and, among other things, provided equal subpoena power to the House minority. The resolution adopted by the House one week later, however, continues the Star Chamber-like hearings before its Intelligence Committee and treats House Republicans as supplicants with respect to the subpoena power.
Should the Senate respond, and, if so, how?
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell should hold a press conference, ASAP, to explain to the American people that the impeachment inquiry resolution

POTUS could take the argument to each Representatives' backyard... even the ones in so-called "safe" districts. Let them know what kind of scoundrels they keep sending back to D.C.
Also, it's high time for the Executive Branch to investigate that little "perk" Congress-pukes and their staffers have that none of the rest of us, including Martha Stewart, seem to have, which is the ability to trade stock based on "insider information." These b@stards make millions in their careers using the FDA and Regulatory oversight as their piggy bank. To my knowledge this isn't codified law, but according to obscure House Rules, so it would be interesting for the DOJ to investigate this and report out their findings to the American voters. Hit them in their pocketbook, and let the chips fall where they may. Liars and cheats we don't need voting for new laws and restrictions to our freedoms.

It will be up to the voters to restrain the House. Vote like your future depends upon it, because it does.

This is what happens when elections are stolen.A minority is elected in the House and they proceed to undo an election by a majority of the states. They replace American citizens with foreigners, thus the actual stealing of our electoral rights. The will of the people is replaced by the will of the state.

The only thing missing is no fist fights on the House floor yet, like the brawls the guys and gals in the Russian Duma have from time to time.

The truth is that while republicans say they have the president's back in reality they're more comfortable being rolled over by the democrats without fighting back and would be secretly happy for Trump to leave office..
Compared with the republican's usual, docile response to being screwed by the democrats they actually see Trump as a vulgar NY street fighter who is upsetting the DC apple cart. They would, for the most part, like to get back to becoming millionaires by shaking down businesses and other countries without Trump shining a light on their activities.

If the "woke" people don't understand by now what's going on in Washington, an explanation from the occupant of the Turtle Post will not make it any more clear. The democrats have a scary view of their future and they know that it disappears if Donald Trump gets four more years in the Oval Office.
I had an interesting encounter in a Walmart yesterday. This big, dumb dude dressed in black and full of tats attempted to draw me into a political conversation in the camping aisle. He rattled on about how we had no idea what was going to happen before the 2020 election but that he and his friends had the "power" to control it. The more he talked the stranger it got. He sounded like a wannabe villian in a "B" hollywood movie and my insanity detector was buzzing. I wanted to engage to tell him how wrong he was but I ended up laughing at him and walking away, which probably hurt even worse. He talking about driving long distances to attend "meetings" so I suspect Antifa. On his hat was a little blue flag with white crossbars that looked exactly like the flag of Scotland. Anybody know of any other meaning for it?

The Democrats are so over the top with their vendetta against President Trump, that they have a unique opportunity to make major gains in the next election, That is IF they chose good candidates to run on the Republican ticket. During the last two election, they ran a number of candidates that were down right pathetic. The RNC needs to vet their candidates to be sure they are capable of being elected and doing a good job.
Candidates that will vote against a bill that gives them most, but not all, of what they want need to be eliminated. This getting no loaf when you could have gotten half a loaf attitude is not principled, it is stupid!

We have it too good here in the USA. Lots of people pay little attention to what the government does. They just want to have fun, and can.

It should be against the law to show photographs of Nancy Pelosi. It scares little children.

I wouldn't count on Mitch, "The Turtle", sticking his neck out too far from his protective shell. If it doesn't help Mitch, he doesn't have a lot to say.
Instead of waiting for Congress to do something, we, the American voter must take action!
Anyone reading these words who lives in a Congressional district that has a Demo-rat as their representative MUST call his/her office and demand that they allow Trump's lawyers to question witnesses. Tell them this is a sham and they will pay for it. I don't really care if you are the only Republican in your Congressional district. Call your congressman/woman and complain!

The anti-American, so-called democrats have changed the name of the house to "House of reprehensibles" and are continuing to drag our great nation into turmoil - PURPOSELY. They should all be impeached for violation of their sworn oath to UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, which they have violated every time they support illegal (criminal) activity by those breaking into our country.

Well if McConnell and all the wimpy Republican Senators created another resolution directed to the House stating that their impeachment rules were unfair to the President and that they were recommending to the President that he not cooperate in such an unfair political exercise that the House Democrats are now engaged in, Pelosi and her House Democrats would be in a bind.
If this Democrat bogus political effort ever gets to the Senate and the wimpy Republicans there abandon Trump, and vote to remove Trump from office, by extension they would be also voting for a Democrat socialist to be elected President in the 2020 election. That act would ensure that those wimpy Republicans would have committed political suicide as far as the 62 million “Deplorables” who voted for Trump are concerned.

#1 needs to read up on the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act of 2012. Insider trading by congresspersons has been illegal for seven years now. Just last September, Chris Collins, a Republican U.S. congressman from New York state, resigned from Congress shortly before pleading guilty in a criminal insider trading case.
