Yes, it already seems like two eternities ago. But do you realize that, if we could turn back time just five weeks, no one would have heard of the “whistleblower”? Those of us who can find Ukraine on a map would be back to ignoring it — except to wonder when and why it stopped being the Ukraine. (It has to do with breaking free of Soviet tyranny, by the way.)
There is a lesson in there about unpredictability that the unpredictable Trump White House would do well to internalize.
See, nobody knows for sure how impeachment proceedings will go. Of course, we

No clicks for NeverTrump McCarthy or NR. I don't care what others think about my policy.

Andy, I love you man but if they had something on him it would have leaked out by now. I bet they don't impeach "for the good of the country".

Anything in NR is painful for me to read in the first place, but it is a matter of ''know your enemy.'' I am convinced beyond any measure that this impeachment fiasco is TOTAL PAYBACK FOR IMPEACHING CLINTON. There is no way to prove it, but this has a ''woman scorned'' feel to it.

#1 ... Andrew McCarthy is not a NeverTrumper. He just published the book "Ball of Collusion: The Plot to Rig an Election and Destroy a Presidency," which Rush has often referenced.

His book is his own vanity showpiece. He was one of NR’s corps of #NeverTrumpers from the time Rich Lowry published his special Trump Hit Piece Edition. Since the Russia hoax went public with Weissman-Mueller, and the impeachment talk began, It has been Andrew's wont to lurk and wait and not have anything supportive to say. Then the real investigators began to publish their work - Sundance at CTH, Paul Sperry and Eric Felten at RealClearInvestigations, John Solomon at The Hill and on Fox. And others. They did the real work. McCarthy had to join in with his two cents, even belatedly, and never really supporting President Trump, but nattering on about various trivia (see the intro. He has added nothing to the discussion.

(hit submit too soon)
For all we know, McCarthy is one who would have liked to have an Administration position. Or at least be on PDJT’s speed dial. But he bit off his nose when he thought Trump couldn’t possibly be elected and joined Richie’s nasty edition. He and David French and the rest. You know them well. Now Trump did win. McCarthy is just a classier version of Napolitano, in my book. Still critical of PDJT, still getting in his little digs.
As for Rush, some hang on his every word. He is a good guy but he is not a god. He reads the same stuff that we can if we get beyond the headlines and the intros. Many of us are every bit as well informed.
And like others on radio and TV, he promotes books.

So far, the McCarthy book organizes and summarizes the anti Trump information well, and even has a touch of humor now and then. And although Rush isn’t God, he has talent on loan from Him.

Impeachment is unpredictable. Check. There might be more damning information out there. Check. This article provides zero useful information. Check.

The Republicans has better stand with Trump no matter what, if they want to survive as a party.

Just as Rudy Giuliani is a longtime Trump associate, the yet unidentified “whistleblower” has been reported as being a close and longtime Biden associate. So if it can be said that Giuliani went over to the Ukraine to get the new government there to investigate Trump’s “potential” political opponent in the 2020 election Joseph Biden, and his son, for politically related corruption, along with the spying against Trump that went on leading up to the 2016 election. It can also be said that the “whistleblower” set the table for the Schiff team to embark on a political mission to investigate and impeach President Trump, who would definitely be Biden’s political opponent in the 2020 election. That is if Biden is the Democrat nominee next year, a potential status that is uncertain at the moment. What it boils down to according to the Democrats, it it is OK for them to investigate and impeachTrump, because it is not OK for Trump to ask that a foreign government cooperate with the US Attorney General in any investigation, foreign or domestic, that may involve Biden and political corruption, and by extension the obvious Obama Administration led spying that targeted Trump and his campaign during the run up to the 2016 election. That’s the Congressional Democrat take on protecting American democracy these days.

I tend to agree with #5/6, I think Mr. McCarthy is no fan of Trump at all, but FINALLY after other hard working journalists like Sundance, Solomon and Carter, and others discovered the truth of the huge traitorous, Deep State plot against him, he FINALLY sorta-kinda "got on board". It seems to me that McCarthy is more in favor of a fair process, even grudgingly for Trump, than he is for Trump. Not exactly an NeverTrumper, but never a Trump believer, either.
At least Mr. McCarthy was willing to listen open his eyes and ears to Sundance, Solomon, et al and see the truth. So many others absolutely REFUSE to see what has happened, have their hands over ears, eyes slammed shut and saying "NA-NA-NA-NA" loudly to drown out the facts.
So, I don't entirely write off McCarthy, but he is a Johnny-come-lately to understanding the coup plot, and no real supporter of the President, more supporting right rather than wrong, even for Trump.
Never a real Trump supporter, but grudgingly forced to be on the side of right, even with Trump there.
