One of the cocky Democrats responsible for writing the party’s widely-criticized, “unfair” impeachment rules that were voted on this week is reportedly a habitual rule breaker who’s been caught employing his own girlfriend in his congressional office.
That Democrat is House Rules Committee vice-chair Alcee Hastings of Florida, who this week joined his fellow equally cocky Democrats in stonewalling efforts by Republicans to install just a modicum of fairness in their otherwise unfair and unjust impeachment rules. [Tweet]
According to an investigation by The Palm Beach Post, this top-ranking Democrat rule-maker has himself been violating House rules by allegedly maintaining a relationship

It is OK for democrats to break rules. For black democrats, the rules don't even apply.

The guy is 80 years old how do we even know if he is capable of having sexual relations? Why is the rule specifically written to address sexual relations, is sex that special or is it all that stupid Americans can understand? How come we weren't told how old Williams is? Besides, like someone said this only applies to Republicans anyway.

Article I, Section 3 states that anyone who has been impeached and convicted is disqualified "to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust, or Profit under the United States". That being the case, why is Alcee Hastings even allowed to serve in the US Congress? I guess the rules really are different for democrats. The Constitution doesn't even seem to apply to them. Especially if they have sufficient melanin in their epidermis.

Well, isn't that special. Alcee himself was impeached for bribery and perjury. Which goes to show you that impeachment doesn't really mean anything to the dems.

Who writes and edits these stories? Hastings was “ impeached from office”. No, he was impeached, tried and found guilty in the Senate and removed from office. His live in girlfriend is referred to as his “ beau”. A beau is a male companion or love interest. Rep. Barbara Comstock of Virginia. She was voted out of office last November and left office in January. Writing slop like this detracts from the story.

In 1983, he was acquitted by a jury after his alleged co-conspirator, William Borders, refused to testify in court, resulting in a jail sentence for Borders. In 1988, the Democratic-controlled United States House of Representatives took up the case, and Hastings was impeached for bribery and perjury by a vote of 413–3.
He was then removed from the bench by the Senate becoming only the 6th Fed judge in US history to be so removed.

Hastings, having been through the Corruption-Impeachment-Removal process and then sent to Congress by his foolish and stupid 'constituents';
-Grounded, (#8), apparently a seat in the US Congress is NOT an "Office of honor, Trust, or Profit under the United States" .
.... or, as others have said, the Rules apply only to Republicans.
-Just as a person who has been through a divorce is more likely to divorce again after remarrying, having been through the process once, he has little or no aversion to it.
-He figures as a member of a Protected Minority (but mostly because he is a Democ'RAT), he knows the Media will ignore any misdeeds he may commit, and will condemn as a (in this case RACIST applies) any Republican who brings said misdeeds to light.
In short, he is a Crook, he knows it, he knows the Media knows it, he knows that the Media and the other 'RATS do not care, and so he does not care either, and does as he pleases.

We all know "House rules" only apply to republicans. Demonrats are exempt.

Good old Alcee Hastings. At the time, blacks said they were just picking on him. You know the rules don't apply to Dems or blacks. You would think Hill would be screaming about him and his staffer shacking up.
Is everybody in Congress trying to break Strom Thurmond's record ?
