and Removed, Makes Impeachment Rules

Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) is the second-ranking Democrat on the House Rules Committee, which is setting the rules for the “impeachment inquiry” into President Donald Trump. Hastings himself was impeached and removed from office in 1989 — one of only eight federal officials, all of whom have been judges, so be so relieved of their duties. [Tweet] Hastings was removed for bribery, one of the causes enumerated in the Constitution’s Impeachment Clause (Article II, Section 4): “The President, Vice President and all Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

So what are you going to do about it Republicans? We can’t even be assured that all of them will vote against this faux impeachment resolution even after the “rules” have been disclosed. What in the name of all things Holy are they thinking. Regardless who is President, this mockery of justice should outrage anyone, even a Never-Trumper Rino and yet, we still don’t know that Republicans are unified against this travesty of justice. Democrats are running wild without any evidence of wrongdoing whatsoever other than the lies they have conjured up in their little partisan pea-brains to unseat a duly elected President just because they do not like him and the want him gone. This is a sham, a travesty of justice and an ongoing coup d’etat. It is beyond maddening to any thinking, rational human being. What is being done to this President by these crooks, liars and thieves is shameful.

Hastings is a nasty piece of work. Was such as a "federal judge" also. While off topic, he reminds me of why I am increasingly coming to believe that Congress should abolish the inferior federal courts.

Please excuse second post but.. Article I, Section 3, of the U.S. Constitution states: 7: Judgment in Cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law. "and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States." How does this not apply to Alcee Hastings?

Hastings is an impeached Federal Judge who was removed from office for taking bribes from drug dealers, in a non political mentally stable place, he would be kept as far as possible from anything got to do with formulating Congressional rules to impeach a President of the opposing political party. But in Democrat circles, and with some wimpy Republicans, Hastings is armor clad as he is a member of the Black Caucus and has been elected from a low information minority district consisting of a very high percentage of reliable Democrat voters.

The left and its Democrats in power are in bad shape. They face a blowout election from voters in 2020, probably comparable to what Britain got, based on their crazed effort to impeach and remove President Trump over some totally non–national security issue like arms to Ukraine. They're sinking in the polls. Their favorite networks are seeing collapsing ratings. They have a string of bad candidates, each more socialist than the next. Voters hate socialism, along with guys who are too old to run. The Horowitz report exposed the dishonesty and absence of integrity of their Deep State allies. The object of their ire, by contrast,

As Democrats intone piously about saving the republic from a president who has "abused his power" and "committed high crimes," and the news media call it all "historic," somewhere, behind the scenes, the red-state Democrats are panicking. According to the Daily Caller: New internal polling by the Trump campaign suggests Democrats in pro-Trump districts should avoid supporting impeachment or risk losing re-election. The new poll, released Tuesday, surveyed 900 likely voters in the 30 congressional districts that President Donald Trump won in 2016 but are currently occupied by Democrats. Nice to see what everyone suspected.

House Democrats violated the Bill of Rights in pursuing their impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump. Republicans have pointed out that Democrats’ articles of impeachment, especially the second article charging “obstruction of Congress,” punish the president for obeying the Constitution’s checks-and-balances. Yet Democrats have also violated the basic liberties protected by the Bill of Rights, in the following four ways: First Amendment: House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), which led the impeachment inquiry, released a 300-page report in which he printed phone logs purportedly belonging to Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA), presidential lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and journalist John Solomon.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) launched the debate over the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Wednesday by comparing the Democrats’ struggle to remove him from office to the Battle of the Bulge against Nazi Germany in World War II. Described as “Hitler’s Last Gamble,” the battle began in December 1944, when the Nazis sent 200,000 troops into a surprise attack against American forces. Though the Americans prevailed, 100,000 were killed or wounded over two months of fighting. Pelosi drew an analogy between the impeachment debate and that battle, the largest ever fought by the U.S. Army:

Pelosi has repeatedly claimed that 47 percent of gun deaths were "teenagers or children," according to the Post. CDC data show the real number is closer to 9 percent, meaning the House speaker exaggerates the true number by more than fivefold. This discrepancy led the Post to assign Pelosi's claim the harshest rating on its fact-checking scale.
