We sent Jimmy into private life 40 years ago. Leave him there.

A pelvis fracture in a 95-year old who recently had hip replacement surgery is not minor. At that age, being immobile is very dangerous.

Sorry but at that age, no fractured pelvis is good....my mother, bless her soul, had a broken pelvis...the doctor told me the bone breaks and then they fall...she never totally recovered from the surgery...

No fan of this angry, mean leftist. But breaking a major bone at that age is almost always a death sentence.

Sees to me that a fatal fall is the fate of many of us.

Falling when you are 95 is not good at all. I pray Mr. Carter gets better. I didn't agree with him on pretty much anything but I can't be happy over someone's suffering.

A member of my extended family fell and broke a hip at age 79. She had other medical issues as I’m sure Carter does, and she lasted a week.

He must have fallen off of his self righteousness perch. It's hard to maintain balance on a little piece of wood at that age.

A fractured pelvis at his age is very bad, but he will have the best medical treatment. Wait and see how well his recovery goes.

My FIL was 96 and in good health, able to walk, stand for long periods unaided, have normal conversations about things today and or his days flying in WW2. He fell and cracked an upper arm bone (humerus), just a crack, not displaced, they put a sling on it. By the next day, he required two people to help him walk, and within 24 more hours, was unable to respond verbally or walk at all. We had him checked in the first 24 hours by MRI for head injury, they reported no brainshissues from the fall. But what would have been a minor inconvenience for him was a death sentence, he was gone within the month.
I truly do not understand exactly what it is about a broken bone - one RN friend tells me that her theory is that something in the marrow escapes and cannot be coped with at advanced age, my theory is that just daily functioning takes 99.5% of capability of the body, and with a break, the need to provide "extra capacity" to deal with the injury just swamps all systems, and everything just crashes.
Whatever it is, I have seen it and been horrified at it's effects, and heard many, many similar stories. A break at advanced age is far, far more severe than it would be even at age 65 or 70 for most of us.

Jimmah welcomed in the era of Islamic Jihad. He signaled American incompetence and laziness to the whole caliphate. Let the Devil take him and soon.

Jimmy Carter, may you continue to live a long time and enjoy your investments paid for by your 30 pieces of silver. May you abundantly reap from the evil seeds you have sown.
