House Democrats have subpoenaed Energy Secretary Rick Perry to produce documents related to their impeachment inquiry of President Trump’s discussions with Ukraine.
"Recently, public reports have raised questions about any role you may have played in conveying or reinforcing the President’s stark message to the Ukrainian President," wrote the three Democratic House committee chairmen leading the impeachment inquiry.Foreign Affairs Chairman Eliot Engel, Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, and Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings sent the subpoena to Perry on Thursday.

They can subpoena a ham sandwich. Perry won’t go. What will they do claim obstruction of justice?

So, during the Russian collusion scam, there was an outfit called The Democracy Integrity Project (TDIP), who was run by Daniel J. Jones. Their purpose was to issue "research" briefings to Washington journalists and congressional aides. They in-turn, leaked this brief to the press, who published it, and then find an accusation from the Democrats about the "recent reports calling into question", blah, blah...
TDIP employed Glen Simpson of Fushion GPS, and Christopher Steele, the ex-British spy.
They receive funding from Rob Reiner and George Soros.
I would not doubt this group is behind many of the recent articles making accusations to enable Democrats to use that as cover for issuing a letter asking for their appearance and cooperation, which the media claims is a subpeona.

Tell'em to STUFF IT Rick. They don't have a subpoena for you. Until the entire House votes up or down, their letter is no more than an inquiry. No legal requirement to submit to their fishing expedition.

Perry has worked quietly and gotten things done. One of those things, as I understand it, is completion of a pipeline in Ukraine that keeps Europe from being so dependent on Russian oil. This goes against the Russian collusion delusion.

Both the Commerce and Energy Departments are supposed to facilitate business opportunities for American businesses around the world. There is nothing wrong with that that, if it does not involve straight corruption, nepotistic corruption, or illegal kickbacks. At the moment it looks like Perry was trying to open opportunities for American business in Ukraine and that is part of his job.

I do not think any of these three have the authority to issue impeachment subpeonas. Headline is wrong.

Did the House vote and thereby giving themselves judicial authority for subpoenas in this? Did that happen today? /s

Great. Impeachment for rumor, innuendo, and anonymous tips.
But no right to confront accuser, no right to counsel, no right to see evidence.

Did they subpoena or send one of those if you don't do what we demand, we will really, really send a subpoena? Under what authority? Only the full committee can order a subpoena. House Gauleiters can't send a subpoena, even under Herr Piglosi's rule.

Maybe Perry could say he asked the President to ask about the Bidens because he was concerned about Sleepy Joe lobbying for the Ukraine without registering as a paid lobbyist.

Rick Perry has simply done what an efficient Secretary of Energy should do. That is standing up for, supporting and marketing this country's energy products to Ukraine or anywhere else.
