A Crockett man is accused of robbing a bank Friday to pay for a wedding ring and the venue for the wedding, a Texas sheriff said. He was going to be married Saturday. But Heath Edward Bumpous was in custody over the weekend after his fiancee recognized his photograph posted on a law enforcement Facebook page. The photo was from a bank surveillance camera and Texas authorities had asked for help to identify the bank robber. Bumpous’ fiancee convinced him to surrender, and authorities arrested the suspect about two hours after the Friday morning holdup.

In polite society, which it is CLEAR that Mr. Bumpous (you just can't make up stuff funnier than really happens) is not part of, the BRIDE'S family is responsible for the wedding costs. Oh, well. Dirt for brains, insists on using it.

#1 is right. Spending 15 years in prison will be a cakewalk compared to being married to a woman with such expensive taste that you felt compelled to rob a bank just to finance the wedding. This dude just dodged a horrible fate.

The number of acres burned in California through the beginning of August 2019 is 26 times less than the number of acres burned at the same point in 2018, according to new statistics from Cal Fire. Through August 11 of this year, 23,748 acres of California land not controlled by the federal government had burned. At the same point last year, 618,996 acres had burned. Though to be fair, Scott McLean, a fire captain with Cal Fire, said 2018 was a record year for acreage burned in California at 1.8 million acres burned by wildfires. But even compared to an average year, the number of acres burned in 2019 is still over

MAKINDYE-LUKULI, Uganda   — The darkening clouds are ominous for many in this urban neighborhood, promising rushing rainwaters stinking of human waste from overflowing septic tanks. As Africa faces a population boom unmatched anywhere in the world, millions of people are moving to fast-growing cities while decades-old public facilities crumble under the pressure. Sewage is a scourge for residents of this community on the outskirts of Uganda’s capital, Kampala. There are no public toilets for some 1,200 people. Mud tinged with feces washes into homes during heavy rains.

The Air Force has begun to look at whether there’s increased risk for prostate cancer among its fighter pilots. A new investigation by McClatchy shows just how serious the problem may be. The fighter pilot study was requested by Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein after he was contacted by concerned veterans service organizations in 2018, according to the report obtained by McClatchy. At the heart of the Air Force study was a question of whether extended exposure in the cockpit to radiation may be linked to increased risk of prostate cancer.

Everyone can relax, the mystery of the Queens In-N-Out burger may have been solved. On Sunday, a man living in the Queens borough of New York City discovered a perfectly wrapped and seemingly untouched In-N-Out burger sitting in the middle of the street. This stood out to him because there are no In-N-Out locations within 1,500 miles of New York City. “It genuinely shook me to my core,” Lincoln Boehm, 31, initially told the New York Post. Boehm, originally from Santa Monica, Calif., said he and his wife were heading to a McDonald’s before catching their train at the Jamaica Long Island Railroad station when they found the burger.

I am nonbinary. I was assigned female at birth, but my gender is neither male nor female. We were a same-sex lesbian couple searching cryobanks for the perfect sperm donor. I was ready and excited to have children, but the idea of pregnancy terrified me—repulsed me, actually—but my then-partner was excited to carry a child, so we shopped for sperm.
