Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-Fla.) response to the president suggesting China “should start an investigation into the Bidens” is largely a Beltway story, but it’s worth dwelling on briefly for broader reasons. In correctly questioning whether the remark constituted “a real request,” Rubio disrupted the day-plus punditry cycle with an obvious point.
To be crystal clear, Trump’s statement was categorically stupid and indefensible. But Rubio, hardly a friend to China, added a critical observation that seemed to be lost entirely on the breathless pundit class.

“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” (Attributed to George Orwell)
Trump was wrong? He was simply telling the truth. But he also does it to get the enemedia frothing at the mouth and focusing on nothing else for days on end while he quietly goes about keeping his campaign promises. It’s one of the things I love about him.

Maybe the President could have prefaced it with an admonition that begins with, after my next election, I will have more flexibility. That seems to absolve any President from even a hint of wrongdoing whenever he wishes to solicit whatever it is he wants from a foreign power. It certainly has been an effective strategy for the Boy King because the media were completely uninterested in any follow up whatsoever. They are thoroughly partisan and out to get this President by any means possible. He really does send them running around screaming with their hair on fire. That is not a normal response by any stretch of the imagination. The hysterics are as telling as their lies and omissions. They have become irrelevant to reasonable people.

What Emily missed in her piece was that the very stable genius President Trump retweeted Jim DeFede✔@DeFede tweet of Rubio's response about tweaking the press. LOL

Little children are easy to manipulate and Trump has fun trolling the media. It's just humor and he is a master. Like Rubio said, they are predictable.

If the President cannot openly ask others to police any corruption then what is he supposed to do? I guess like the Obama administration he should get the CIA to set up sting operations on their opponents. I think I would rather go with the guy who is saying out loud for all to hear, we don't want you to engage in corruption with any of our politicians; and if they approach you, you should report it. It seems to me that that is very sensible above board and we all know where we stand. Corruption exists and the higher you go the more money is involved and the temptations are great.

Maybe when President Trump retweets things on twitter we should call it "retweaking". I'm still laughing over genius Trump.

FTA, Jashinsky writes, "Nearly three years after his election, the press still struggles daily with responding to Trump, knowing full well that much of what he says—and tweets—is purposefully designed to manipulate the media."
So, Marco, glad to see that you just noticed that the President is a musician and plays the msm like a fiddle. The President just calls it like it is. But, all is not lost. All the msm has to do is start doing its job for a change and start appreciating Trump's successes and how these successes benefit THEM and their sorry lives would suddenly become golden. But, strangely, the msm still chooses the deep state, evil, and corruption as their ways of choice...all because the msm still cannot accept the results of the 2016 Presidential election and therefore, hates the United States of America.

Truth is a novelty and weird science to the rats in the press. I really enjoy the President's new press conferences on the lawn with the Marine One helicopter rotors going in the background. I like to see misery dealt out to the press jackals make them stand in cold and snow to ask their dumb questions. The President is a master at disarming or driving the loopy dupes in the press mad.

I have to disagree with the author's conclusion that the President's statement "the Chinese should investigate the Biden's". First, as a normative statement it can be neither true or false as I'm sure the President is well aware of. It was therefore just an opinion and does not contain a request action verb that would clearly indicate to the numerous Chinese diplomats and foreign intelligence officers that were present as part of their jobs in the US media to do anything. China is quite clear in its internal policy documents that buying off corrupt US officials for protection is to be encouraged and certainly having the US Vice President in their pocket was an especially good addition. This was critical to their success in having Hunter Biden's companies acquire dual use technology companies and avoid CFIUS scrutiny making it much easier to build up their military capabilities. As we say in software, having Biden on the payroll was a "feature" not a "bug" to the Chinese.

Had Rubio managed to win the presidency in 2016 I submit he world have been GONE by now, so I will defer to Trump's judgement on what is and isn't stupid and indefensible.

Playing the fake media is not a reason to impeach a President nor is it unconstitutional.

I hope the Donald has a large, fine collection of Stradivarius violins. He can fiddle with fine tonal quality, while the world self destruct. Nero is jealous.

The author of this article isn't thinking it all the way through either because she's not very bright or because she's trying to trick us. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the President asking other countries to investigate our corrupt politicians.
