The blue checks of Twitter attacked New York Times columnist David Brooks for his latest column attempting to explain how a Trump voter in middle America views the president’s potential impeachment.Brooks created a fictional character called "Flyover Man" to represent the average Trump voter in a column called "Why Trump Voters Stick With Him." Flyover Man argues with a character called "Urban Guy" that no matter what deals Trump may or may not have struck with the government of Ukraine, the president does not deserve to be impeached.Brooks was mocked for his characterization from people all across the political spectrum. The Nation national affairs correspondent Jeet Heer said,

Just like Shiff putting words into trump's mouth pretending to re-enact a phone call, David Brooks puts words in our mouths. They can't risk having our actual words destroying their narrative.

Sure beats getting off your butt and talking to real people. A real reporter goes out into the field to interview people and learn what they think, then reports what he/she has learned.

Brooks isn't smart enough to pull of anything this complex. And, of course, he has never even visited any o the middle of the country, so he will always get it entirely wrong. Brooks is a total loser, and NYC is a stink hole, largely filled with people who think that they are the pivots that the universe hinges on. And they are NOT. NYC is where you stick it when the USA needs an enema.

NEW YORK— On Aug. 7, 1974, three top Republican leaders in Congress paid a solemn visit to President Richard Nixon at the White House, bearing the message that he faced near-certain impeachment due to eroding support in his own party on Capitol Hill. Nixon, who’d been entangled in the Watergate scandal for two years, announced his resignation the next day.Could a similar drama unfold in later stages of the impeachment process that Democrats have now initiated against President Donald Trump? It’s doubtful. In Nixon’s time, there were conservative Democrats and moderate Republicans. Compromise was not treated with scorn. In today’s highly polarized Washington, bipartisan agreement is a rarity.

Op-ed views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author.1) Everything we need to know about global warming can be learned from a 16-year-old girl with Asperger’s and a famously ignorant former bartender who was just elected to Congress. 2) Of all the people we could have influencing children in our society, it makes the most sense to have drag queens reading to kids in libraries. 3) If you like your doctor or your healthcare plan, you can keep them AND it will cost $2,500 less per year for a family! President Trump continued on Sunday to rip into Sen. Mitt Romney for criticizing the president for urging foreign leaders to investigate Joe Biden a day after he called the Utah Republican a “pompous ‘ass.'”“The Democrats are lucky that they don’t have any Mitt Romney types. They may be lousy politicians, with really bad policies (Open Borders, Sanctuary Cities etc.), but they stick together!” Trump wrote on his Twitter page. In a series of postings on Saturday, the president said “somebody please wake up Mitt Romney and tell him that my conversation” with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky “was a congenial and very appropriate one.”

Asking about a Friday report by The Wall Street Journal, Chuck Todd said, “Let me start with something you told the “Wall Street Journal” late last week, you said Gordon Sunland seemed to imply that the frozen military aid was a promise for investigations, you said, at that suggestion, ‘I winced. my reaction was, oh, God, I don’t want to see those two things combined.’ Why did you wince? And what did you mean by those two things combined? Johnson said, “Well, first of all,

Music icon and fashion bigwig Kanye West has once again demonstrated that his support for President Trump stems from a deep conviction within himself rather than a momentary burst of “dragon energy.” Over the weekend, while speaking before his audience at another of his Sunday Services, this time in Salt Lake City, West argued that for black Americans, voting for a candidate based solely on skin color is a form of “mental slavery.” The rapper even lauded the Republican Party’s history on race relations, starting all the way back to when Abraham Lincoln helped free the slaves.“That’s the Republican Party that freed the slaves,” West said,

Sen. President Donald Trump has ordered a substantial reduction in the staff of the National Security Council, according to five people familiar with the plans, as the White House confronts an impeachment inquiry touched off by a whistle-blower complaint related to the agency’s work. Some of the people described the staff cuts as part of a White House effort to make its foreign policy arm leaner under new National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien. The request to limit the size of the NSC staff was conveyed to senior agency officials by acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and O’Brien this week.

CLOVIS, Calif. — Trevor Meyer had been nominated previously for the homecoming court. As a prince. But what Meyer really longed for was to win homecoming queen. Meyer, who identifies as “gender neutral,” had that wish granted when Clovis East High crowned the slender, 5-foot-10 senior as homecoming queen Friday night during halftime of the Timberwolves’ football game against Clovis High. Meyer’s coronation didn’t seem like much of a shocker based on the other finalists’ reaction and the loud round of cheers at Lamonica Stadium. It's always useful to know what a campaign is like, the lay of the land, so to speak, the supporters, the campaign operation, the candidate herself. Here in San Diego, Elizabeth Warren paid a visit Thursday, so I went, taking my elderly mother, blending into the crowd to learn how things looked from the Democrat side. The most obvious takeaway is that Warren is rising. Based on her own energetic appearance and stump speech, she's now begun campaigning as if she's got the Democratic nomination in the bag, and she's now attempting to move to the center. That signals a swift campaign response to the de facto collapses of her

It’s time for Hillary Clinton to come out of retirement, lace up the gloves and get back in the ring with President Trump for what would be the biggest political rematch ever. Call me crazy, but from what I’ve seen so far, Clinton is the only candidate short of Barack Obama who has the brains, the battle-tested brawn and the national presence to take out Trump. And Obama can’t run. Bernie Sanders was fading even before his heart started acting up. Joe Biden has become Trump’s main talking point in the whole Ukraine-China impeachment mess, which hardly helps him.

It’s becoming clearer that Nancy Pelosi’s half-clever ploy of unilaterally declaring that an impeachment “inquiry” was in progress is backfiring in a big way. At first, it seemed that this was a smart move – by simply stating an inquiry was in motion without going through the necessary formalities such as a full House vote, Pelosi was calming the crazies of her caucus (such as the Squad), while leaving herself plenty of maneuvering room to divert or back out should things start to deteriorate.
