Democrats have opened Pandora's Box by taking up the subject of election influence coming from Ukraine. They seized upon the conversation between President Trump and Ukraine's President Zelensky, leaked by a Deep State operative embedded in the White House to someone claiming the status of whistleblower as the basis for their public impeachment hoax. It is a hoax for three reasons: Because no actual impeachment committee has been established, as that would require their vulnerable members from districts Trump carried in 2016 to take an actual position on a dodgy impeachment enterprise. Because Trump said nothing wrong in his conversation.

If the Trump administration continues to not cooperate with Congressional investigations, the president could be impeached on that alone, top Democrats threatened on Wednesday. Speaking at a press conference Wednesday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff reaffirmed Democrats’ new stance that they’ll consider any resistance from the administration as “further evidence of obstruction.” “Of course that was an article of impeachment against President Nixon,” the California Democrat said. For his part, Mr. Trump said Wednesday he was willing to go along with Democrats, but it’s not clear how far that cooperation will extend.

Sen. Robert Menendez, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on Wednesday called for Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to recuse himself from Ukraine-related matters. “The American people need to have confidence that the nation’s chief diplomat is making decisions based on the national interest — not to advance a partisan political agenda,” the New Jersey Democrat wrote in a letter to Mr. Pompeo. “Recusal is the only option at this point to prevent further erosion of the integrity of the U.S. foreign policy.” Mr. Menendez also demanded the secretary of state refrain from participating in any decisions regarding Ukraine foreign policy or foreign assistance.

On Monday, the intelligence community inspector general (ICIG) admitted that it did alter its forms and policies governing whistleblower complaints, and that it did so in response to the anti-Trump complaint filed on Aug. 12, 2019. The Federalist first reported the sudden changes last Friday. While many in the media falsely claimed the ICIG’s stunning admission debunked The Federalist’s report, the admission from the ICIG completely affirmed the reporting on the secretive change to whistleblower rules following the filing of an anti-Trump complaint in August. The ICIG also disclosed for the first time that the anti-Trump complainant filed his complaint using the previously authorized form,

Remember when Sen. Chuck Schumer, in response to criticism President Trump leveled at the Intelligence Community, retorted with this? "Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you," Schumer told MSNBC's host Rachel Maddow. Turns out that's an understatement, as the Federalist's Sean Davis has now uncovered in a truly outrageous report. We already know that the Intelligence Community's inspector general (IGIC) office mysteriously changed its rules for anyone filing a whistleblower complaint to not needing to have one's information firsthand just before the famed whistleblower filed his report sometime around August.

A newly-unearthed photo shows former Vice President Joe Biden and son Hunter sharing a round of golf with Devon Archer, who sat on the board of Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings alongside Hunter. The photo, first obtained by the Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, is believed to have been taken at the Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, New York in 2014. Both Hunter Biden and Archer both joined Burisma Holdings as board members in April 2014. The girl is African American and said her attackers were white. The story received national attention.

Sen. Chuck Schumer on Sunday said the growing impeachment debate on Capitol Hill shouldn’t stall long-sought legislation seeking background checks for gun purchases — nor keep President Trump from backing the measure. Schumer, speaking at his Manhattan office, called on Trump to “prove to the American people that he can still govern” and is not “consumed” by Democrats’ push to impeach him. “Amidst the impeachment inquiry the gears of government can still move,” Schumer said. “Anyone who suggests otherwise is advancing a false narrative.”

A high school football team in Kentucky broke out a political playbook of sorts over the weekend — by tearing through a banner that read, “Make America Great Again, Trump Those Patriots” ahead of its homecoming game. The red, white and blue banner at Anderson County High School in Lawrenceburg, where the Bearcats took on the Lincoln County High School Patriots, turned heads late Friday just before the team took the field, video posted by the school shows. The crowd cheered as the players burst through the oversize sign, held by cheerleaders, as smoke billowed from beneath it.

Firefighters found the body after responding to the blaze outside of a St. Augustine home that’s been under construction for several months, according to The Florida Times-Union. Detectives from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office are working to determine the identity of the woman, and how she died. “A person could have gone in there and the methane gas could have ignited somehow,” Chuck Mulligan, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, explained to the paper.

Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano argued in a column and video published on FoxNews.com Thursday morning that President Donald Trump’s “criminal behavior” with regard to Ukraine is impeachable, and that his threats against the whistleblower are dangerous. The column opens by noting that “the criminal behavior to which Trump has admitted is much more grave than anything alleged or unearthed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and much of what Mueller revealed was impeachable,” before outlining the specifics of the Ukraine scandal currently presenting an existential threat to his administration.

The great triumph of recent American politics is for the people of your fine country to have elected as president a man who is the precise embodiment of what supercilious Europeans think Americans are really like. Pig-ignorant, arrogant, jingoistic, contemptuous of foreigners, loud-mouthed, badly dressed and irredeemably bumptious. So consuming is the European antipathy toward Donald Trump — he’s never read a book! He eats steak with ketchup! — that it afflicts leading politicians across our continent, people who would be better advised to button it a while and show a little bit of diplomacy to the leader of the free world. But they can’t: the contempt always bleeds through.

House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff is in damage control mode after the New York Times reported that he learned about the Deep State CIA spy’s accusations against President Trump several days before the officer filed a whistleblower complaint. The Deep State spook filed a complaint on August 12 based on second-hand knowledge and hearsay of Trump’s July 25 phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, so Schiff had knowledge of the accusations and worked discreetly for up to two weeks.Schiff is now claiming he has never met with or spoken to the whistleblower — in fact, Schiff is claiming he doesn’t even know the identity of the whistleblower!

"Have you heard from the whistleblower?" MSNBC contributor Sam Stein asked House intelligence committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on September 17, nine days before the complaint was released to the public. "We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower," Schiff responded at the time, never mentioning that one of his committee staffers had directly spoken to the whistleblower -- and that the staffer "shared some of what the [whistleblower] conveyed" with Schiff, according to the New York Times. The New York Times says the staffer referred the whistleblower to a (Democrat-connected) attorney to help him file a formal complaint with the intelligence community inspector general.

First, it is likely that President Donald Trump violated some cockamamie administrative rule when he recently spoke with the new Ukrainian president about the potential corrupt dealings of former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, in Ukraine. Fine. Can’t Trump just pay a fine or something? Yes, he should’ve been more careful (and he needs to tell Rudy Giuliani to calm down, as the former mayor risks perjuring himself before not one, but three Congressional committees). What Trump did was the equivalent of going 15 mph over the speed limit in rural Georgia: it happens. Rarely does anyone notice. Ignorance is still not a viable legal defense.
