Sometime-Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden was at it again, voicing his brand of tough-guy boasts that he can “beat Trump like a drum.”
A 1980s sci-fi cult film about a weirdo, Buckaroo Banzai, who travels through time dimensions in many manifestations battling evil and saving good guys reminds us of the latest incarnation of Joe Biden. Biden sees himself as something similar, as Americans are reacquainting themselves with the three-time presidential candidate, who for years has been regaling audiences as the swashbuckling hero of an amazing repertoire of his own larger than life stories.
Sometimes the bard Buckaroo Biden entertains crowds as the self-sacrificing tribal white knight who physically

Old Jo said he accepted a summer job as a life guard, and wanted to work at a swimming pool that was filled with black people, so he 'could learn about black people.'
Isn't that racist? Presumptuous? Insulting to blacks?

Biden acts like another Buster Scruggs, and will end up the same way. (Minus the singing.)

When truth is stranger than fiction. Or, is it the other way around? With Joe you can always count on self-serving embellishments. I have always found Biden’s accusations surrounding the deaths of his young wife and daughter repugnant. The need to embellish such a tragedy is pathological.
The remainder of this article is delightfully funny. Thank you VDH. I’m off to share it with Dem friends. Surely they will see the humor.

Biden is just a punk. He's the antithesis of "heroic". Tough guy until the going gets tough. In the movies he's in the lion suit with Dorothy.

He reminds of these boys in first grade who go around making car and truck sounds, and fight imaginary battles. Only in Biden’s case, that childish behavior never ended.

Walter Mitty as much as anything. Idiot Joe is a legend in his own mind, and nowhere else.

From Mark Twain in his autobiography:
"When I was younger, I could remember anything, whether it had happened or not; but my faculties are decaying now and soon I shall be so I cannot remember any but the things that never happened."

I will be 73 this November. I am experiencing first hand the ruin of an aged mind. I have to struggle to remember names and faces. Sometimes, I can't rember certain words I am sure I once used regularly. Recalling movie stars and songs- Bah! Frustrating. My war stories have remained strong, though. Perhaps because they were so well established when they happened and have been repeated so often over the years. My youthful memories are still strong and accurate, though fewer. I don't have anyone to impress with theose stories, though. My friends and family have heard them all many times and new audiences are simply not interested. My desire to tell them has greatly diminished- perhaps adding to the staleness of them in my mind.
Biden, however, seems content to recite his stories, finding new excitement in the re-telling of them over and over. He seems to find embellishment of his stories an art, like an old time bard, sharpening his tales to each new audience increasing his pile of pennies through testing and refining. But, he is an ex-vice President of the United State. He has been a popular media figure for more than 30 years! His owrds have been recorded and are part of history, now. He can be checked. What is his problem that he recites these tall tales with such impunity? Democratism...that is the problem.

I didn't realize he was such a complete nutcase. But why not be a fabulist? The media will never contradict him. My favorite of his many gaffes was his description of Obama as "clean and articulate," insinuating that that is an unusual state for a black person to be in. What an idiot he is.

I'm expecting some innovative conservative entrepreneur will start making t-shirts saying:
"I AM CORN POP"
"CORN POP DIVING TEAM"
"CORN POP SWIM CLUB"
"I SWAM WITH CORN POP"

It's probably a show Biden is watching 24/7 when he is not pushed out to 'campaign' and make a fool of himself!!

Re: #11 - I can increasingly relate to your comments but I always see the uncommonly good horse sense the substance of your posts and comments, so keep them coming. My own war stories remain strong, perhaps because most of my war stories involve me as the observer and teller of someone else's acts of valor or great humor. I find it easy to brag on the accomplishments of others and feel blessed to have witnessed them.

...Hero- Joe ..who despite being a "pretty damn good athlete" , dodged the Draft by getting a doctor to claim he was asthmatic
...I can't wait for him to claim that "Atticus Finch " was based on his early career as a lawyer

Do you remember at the end of the movie, a sequel was promised? "Buckaroo Banzai Vs.The World Crime League." It was never made. Joe Biden is a member of the World Crime League, so the comparison is slightly off.
