During a visit to the region on Sunday night, President Donald Trump said he is working with lawmakers on “trying to come up with a solution” to gun violence in the wake of last month’s mass shooting in Dayton’s Oregon District. In an exclusive interview with the president, News Center 7’s Molly Koweek asked President Trump what a solution might look like. “We have to protect our second amendment,” Trump said. “We can’t let guns be taken away from good people, but we want to have them taken away from crazy people.”

I hope this is just smoke and mirrors. There is NO need for any more "gun control" laws. We have over 20,000 gun control laws already on the books. Enforce what is there, leave the honest people alone.

We have gun laws. What we need is institutions for the criminally insane.

What makes it all a deal breaker for me is that any law they may pass will always be abused. Innocent people will be railroaded and harassed and their property registered for later confiscation. Even if Mr Trump has no such plans, the next democrat into office will. At the very least there should be strong penalties for abuse of these laws and sovereign immunity should be suspended. The government should be more afraid of using these laws than we are of having them used against us.

Divorced, excommunicated, 25 years old with three children, my mom never felt sorry for herself. She told me time and again during my boyhood that we should appreciate everything we had. Take nothing for granted. Three weeks of Air Force survival training in the rainy mountains of Colorado taught me how easily I had taken the simple comfort of a dry, warm bed for granted. Watching my infant son turn blue, with nary a breath or a heartbeat, taught me how quickly I had taken him for granted (he survived). We take things for granted all the time, don’t we?

Engineers at Purdue have built a flying robot to mimic one of the most expert flyers in the natural world: the hummingbird. Drones wish they could fly with the agility and grace of the biological family Trochilidae, which includes all 357 types of hummingbirds. Boasting the flying capabilities of birds and the hovering abilities of insects, they represent an intersection of flying philosophies that scientists are eager to unlock. Hummingbirds could lead to leaps forward for search-and-rescue drones, commercial filming robots, military use, and any other flying venture that is punctuated by quick, unexpected stops and starts.

Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan said Saturday that he intends to speed up plans to secure the border while visiting a Texas border city. Shanahan also said Pentagon officials would remain at the border until it is secure, according to the Associated Press. “We’re not going to leave until the border is secure,” he said. “This isn’t about identifying a problem. It’s about fixing a problem more quickly.” He told Congress this week that 4,364 troops are stationed at the border, but the troops do not act as law enforcement.

You probably wouldn´t usually go to Cincinnati´s cavernous music venue Bogart´s at 11 a.m. for an hour-long talk about economic policy, but more than 1,500 prospective voters supporting or curious about Democratic presidential primary contender U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren did today. Minus a couple flubs, Warren brought enough energy to fill the room, showcasing a wonky but neatly-packaged policy platform aimed squarely at voters disenchanted with the nation´s economic and political structures and a controversial Republican administration.

Dozens, if not hundreds, of STEM School Highlands Ranch students walked out in anger Wednesday evening after two congressional Democrats and a far-left group politicized a vigil for a student who was killed during a mass shooting at the Colorado school Tuesday. According to students who attended the event, the speakers at the vigil — Democrat Rep. Jason Crow, Democrat. Sen. Michael Bennet and Laura Reeves, an activist with the gun-control group Moms Demand Action — all sought to exploit 18-year-old student Kendrick Castillo’s death to score political points against the gun lobby and drum up more votes for Democrats.

A 12-year-old girl says three of her male classmates at a Virginia private school pinned her down and cut her dreadlocks, calling her hair “ugly” and “nappy.” The group of white sixth-grade boys ambushed Amari Allen during recess Monday, as she was about to use the slide on the playground at the Immanuel Christian School in Fairfax, Virginia, local outlets reported. “They said my hair was nappy and I was ugly,” Allen, who is African American, told News4. One of the boys covered Allen’s mouth and another held her hands behind her back, while the third cut her dreadlocks with a pair of scissors, she said.

The View host Joy Behar made a weird argument on Friday’s show about the whole Hunter Biden, Ukraine controversy. The liberal host suggested that because the 2020 presidential candidate and veteran politician suffered a family tragedy decades ago, he should be immune from any Republican attacks which involved his 49-year-old son. While the show opened with Abby Huntsman literally shaming anyone who didn’t agree the Ukraine phone call was an “abuse of power” and declaring that it was "clear" cut case for impeachment, the conversation drifted to the controversy behind that phone call.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday evening the bans on abortion that have passed in many states “ignore basic morality.” (Video) “Today, as we know, an all-out assault on women’s reproductive freedoms is sweeping the nation, as Republicans seek to impose abortion bans on millions of women in dozens of states,” Pelosi said as she addressed attendees at the 50th anniversary dinner of abortion political action and advocacy organization NARAL. The speaker, a professed Catholic, added: These bans violate the Constitution. They ignore basic morality. They imperil the health and well-being of countless women. And they showcase a radical Republican agenda that will stop at nothing

Dear Democrats, I’m mad at you. I was raised a die-hard, bleeding-heart liberal. My grandmother was an Irish Catholic New Englander who worshipped JFK almost as much as Jesus. My dad and his nine siblings sang for the Kennedys at Hammersmith Farm. For decades, I was a loyal regular at your bar until suddenly you started ignoring me. You took my support for granted and dismissed my concerns, focusing instead on courting the young city hipsters with their scooters and their designer weed and their craft beers. You began overlooking pragmatic moderates and catering to loud extremists who favor rewriting the Constitution and accelerating our lurch towards socialism.

How much credibility should we give to a 16-year-old when considering her qualifications to lecture adults about science and an end-of-the-world scenario? Greta Thunberg has been dubbed by the media as a "climate change activist" and a teen "eco-warrior." She was at the United Nations in New York on Monday to appear before diplomats and others at a "climate action summit." Only the UN has less credibility than a teenager.(Snip)Thunberg was preparing to speak to the assembled adults at the UN when President Trump walked in ahead of her. The man knows showmanship. Hillary Clinton remains shackled to her lust for power and revenge, and now is signaling that she may enter the Democrats’ presidential contest when ex-Vice President Joe Biden withdraws and serves as the fall-guy for Ukraine's collusion with her 2016 presidential campaign. She realizes that her party’s frenzy to unseat President Trump will consume the ambition of the hapless halfwit to gain the Oval Office that rightfully belongs to her, as his familial dirty laundry is aired in an effort to find Trump impeachment fodder in Ukraine. Hillary is not committing to the race, but keeping that option very open.
