Britons Back Respecting Referendum Result
and Farage-Tory Pact for No Deal

A majority of Britons back the 2016 EU referendum result being respected and Brexit being delivered, whilst a plurality want the Conservatives to agree an election pact with Nigel Farage’s party to secure a strong parliamentary majority for a no deal exit. More than half, 54 per cent, of Britons agree that the referendum result should be respected, while just 25 per cent disagreed, according to a ComRes poll reported in The Telegraph. Further, more than one-third (35 per cent) of those that voted Remain in the referendum also now want Brexit to be delivered.

Wary is my sense, if he liberals there are anything like the ones here, I envision ballot stuffing throughout, England's pull out and subsequent likely prosperity will no doubt encourage others to desire the same.

I love the way Johnson wags his finger in Corbyn's face. The UK needs to leave the EU by Oct 31.

Parliament lacked the guts to take a stand on Britain exiting the European Union so they held a referendum to "let the people decide." The majority of the members of Parliament didn't like what the "people decided" and been block and stalling ever since. Seeing the reluctance of Parliament to honor the results of the referendum, the European Union has proposed onerous conditions for a negotiated exit. The hard line position of the European Union makes a no deal exit the only logical choice. Nigel Farage’s opposition to a no deal exit is for the sole purpose of extorting political advantage from Boris Johnson for Farage’s party.

I’ll be darned if I can make any sense out of this Brexit issue. Therefore, I’m going to ignore it completely unless or until it becomes relevant to something. Poor Europe, used to be such a great part of the world.

Banning plastic straws. Carbon taxes. Stopping people from eating meat. Stopping people from having babies. Am I just seeing things? Or are all the “climate crisis solutions” proposed by the Democrats designed to cause maximum pain to ordinary people, and almost none to wealthy elites? Progressives almost seem to take joy in inconveniencing the masses for no reason. Take the plastic straw ban, for example. Even National Geographic — hardly an anti-environmentalist publication —

Nigel Farage has called on Boris Johnson to agree to an electoral pact between the Brexit Party and the Tories, after Remainer MPs voted to make no deal Brexit illegal. Speaking to the BBC on Thursday morning, Mr Farage, who has made similar offers before, said “at some point, he’s going to need to [talk to me]… because he’s made this decision that he has to deliver Brexit, he’s sacked 21 of his MPs who are essentially Remainers. He cannot win an election, whenever it comes, if the Brexit Party stands against him.”

That also bears on the matters I would like to discuss with you today: civics and civility. Each serves a vital role in sustaining our republic, a nation established on the idea that the government exists to serve the people—not the other way around. In a time when despots ruled much of the world, our founders chose to believe that the people could govern themselves prudently, without destroying the civil liberties their ancestors had won, and without subjecting political minorities to arbitrary power. It was a revolutionary idea. So much so that when the Constitutional Convention proposed ordaining the Constitution in the name of “We the People,” Patrick Henry objected.

Be careful what you wish for. Democrats looking for ways to attack Donald Trump have been licking their chops at the prospect of a James Mattis tell-all memoir. Unfortunately for them, Mattis has indeed written such a book, but it tells all about Mattis’ observations of their front runner, Joe Biden, and his former boss Barack Obama. The Washington Examiner got a sneak peek of Mattis’ new memoir Call Sign Chaos, and it’s not pretty. While Mattis warned of the risks of a sudden withdrawal in 2011, Biden refused to listen:

Forget about " HQ2" — last September, Amazon opened a gigantic facility in New York City that instantly created thousands of jobs. It was Amazon's first major "fulfillment center" in New York City and New York State, and it was specifically opened to serve one of Amazon's largest delivery markets: the New York City metro region. The shipping warehouse, based in Staten Island, is also one of Amazon's most futuristic — in addition to the thousands of people working there, it has dozens of robots.

Mayor Bill de Blasio has aggressively pushed a bike-friendly agenda, adding about 100 miles of dedicated lanes for cyclists amid a spike in rider collisions, but he’s done little to address the danger that bikers themselves pose. Since 2011, bicyclists have injured more than 2,250 pedestrians — including at least seven who died — according to stats from the city Department of Transportation and published reports. Injuries are up 12 percent this year, rising to 127 through June 30 from 113 over the same period in 2018, the NYPD says.

Almost imperceptibly, as political discourse continues to be a discordant contest between haters and admirers of President Trump with no journalistic distinction between comment and reporting, there has been substantial progress toward an improved strategic environment for the United States and the West generally. Journalists in general and the American press in particular have never been especially adept at separating good causes from grand strategy. Even venerated commentators such as Walter Lippmann and Edward R. Murrow, let alone Walter Cronkite, tended not to see geopolitical questions outside their apparent moral effects.

Most of the Democrat candidates pushing Medicare for all cite Canada’s system as the envy in the entire world. Bernie Sanders has been touting Canada’s health care system as far superior than anything here in the United States. At the same time there have been several articles debunking that reputation by patients needing immediate care. I must disagree with all the 2020 Democrat candidates who are proposing the single payer socialist health system. I believe we have the best system in the world and my recent health care proves it. If I lived in Canada, I’d be dead.

With dirt, they can weigh hundreds of pounds. The makeshift planter boxes are Peter Mozgo’s creations — roughly 140 of them lined up on the sidewalk to prevent homeless people from pitching tents outside his business. Mozgo acquires the boxes from a Bell Gardens company that imports ginger, paints them firetruck red, pays $120 per cubic yard for dirt and then uses a $900 trailer to haul it all back to his neighborhood on the south end of downtown Los Angeles. Like many L.A. residents and business owners, the 49-year-old says he is frustrated by the growing homelessness crisis — and the city’s often uneven response to it.

I suppose I should be thrilled that the U.S. Women's soccer team won its second world title but I confess to rooting for all their opponents during the games. I don't particularly care for soccer anyway but it was the purple-haired star player Megan Rapinoe who turned me off by spouting her disdain for any White House visit before she was even asked. Did she do that for publicity or was her Trump derangement too deeply entrenched? Stomping on the American flag even accidentally during the World Cup celebration was more proof of her unworthiness to represent our great country.

Now, in the wake of his blockbuster arrest on child sex trafficking charges, some of those high-flying former pals may be quaking in their boots. During a news conference Monday announcing Epstein’s indictment, Manhattan US Attorney Geoffrey Berman dramatically pointed to the suspect’s mug shot on a poster, and the FBI’s New York chief, William Sweeney Jr., urged anyone who has been “victimized” or “has additional information” on the multimillionaire financier to immediately call the feds.

Early Monday morning, Donald Trump tweeted: “94% Approval Rating in the Republican Party, a record. Thank you!” Where the president got this specific number remains a mystery. Recent polls by YouGov put his GOP approval roughly ten points lower, and Gallup, which has tracked Trump’s popularity since he took office, puts him at 88 percent. But I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised that Trump used his Sharpie to round up his score. He’s deeply invested in being — or at least claiming to be — the most popular Republican president in history.

This is the time for President Trump to deprive his enemies of the last weapon that could be employed against him that could cause him any harm: the largely false, but still troublesome, issue of his personality and routine behavior. Other lines of attack have come to naught: Collusion with Russia, accusations of racism provoking outbursts of mass murder (by uttering “racially charged statements,” in the inadvertently Orwellian words of CNN’s most witless talking head, Don Lemon), the verbal recession confected by the world-renowned economists of CNN and MSNBC, all of it has collapsed. Mayor Pete Buttigieg ought to crack open the Bible, turn to Psalm 139, and read how God formed humans “fearfully and wonderfully” — and after, take a second look at his views on abortion and repent, said his brother-in-law, Rhyan Glezman, an evangelical pastor from Michigan, on Fox News. Good advice. It is a curiosity how a self-declaring Christian can still stand strong on the side of abortion rights. This is what Buttigieg said a few days ago on a “Breakfast Club” radio interview: “Right now, [conservatives] hold everybody in line with this one piece of doctrine about abortion, which is obviously a tough issue
