ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The government’s watchlist of more than 1 million people identified as “known or suspected terrorists” violates the constitutional rights of those placed on it, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.
The ruling from U.S. District Judge Anthony Trenga grants summary judgment to nearly two dozen Muslim U.S. citizens who had challenged the watchlist with the help of a Muslim civil-rights group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
But the judge is seeking additional legal briefs before deciding what remedy to impose.(Snip)The watchlist is disseminated to a variety of governmental departments, foreign governments and police agencies.

CAIR, a front group for terrorists, convinces a judge to rule terror watch list unconstitutional. Dangerous. https://t.co/R90yDp2TkS

Muslims have Sharia Law. They don't get Constitutional Rights too. Also, becoming a terrorist nullifies your citizenship. This jihadi loving judge needs to go.

So what happens when those on the watch list start committing atrocities and peaceful, native born American citizens lose their lives? Does that judge go back and re-think the opinion? No, because it's too late.

What happens when President Warren puts you on the watchlist for being a white, gun owning, registered republican, veteran NRA member who posts non-PC things on Lucianne dot com?
When the government can prevent you from travelling without notice or recourse, they yeah.....its a violation of my rights.

This "Judge" should have learned by now that old jurist's quote, "the Constitution is not a suicide pact."

I guess we can't racially profile Hispanics for being illegal aliens either. My bety is this will go to the SUpremes and get thrown on on its face. All part of protecting and defending America from all enemies both foreign and domestic. In this case we need protection from Obama appointees and Democrats.

Let's talk about the constitutional rights that the Islamic hijackers on September 11 violated.

Agree with #7. This will go to the Supreme Court, and be overturned.
OTOH, knew a Hispanic person with a rather common name that was frequently pulled aside at airports. In the end, he changed his last name. He hadn't done anything wrong, but he shared a name with somebody that did or perhaps the name was a common fake name (the Hispanic equivalent of John Smith).

I'm sorry to be the guy who rains on the I'm tougher on terrorists" parade but any gobvernment list that is both secret and used to infringe individual rights is not just wrong but tyrannical. Senators have ended up on the no-fly terrorist watch list. They can get removed from the list due to their elite status but your sheepish neighbor can not. You don't even know you are on the list until you try to board a plane. How would you like to show up to go to that once in a lifetime trip to Hawaii only to be told you can't fly. Oh, and we can't tell you why you cannot fly and although there is an appeals process, its details are a matter of national security so, since your on the terrorist watch list, we can't tell you anything about it.
Of course, our government agencies are all absolutely non political so the watch lists would never ever in a million years be used to keep track on political enemies. And it goes without saying that no federal bureaucracy has EVER made even the smallest error. Like the FISA courts they would only act on the most stringent and verifiable information. nothing to worry about, right. Giving complete control of this apparatus to someone like the Clintons or Bro Bernie, or Mayor Pete would be no problem.
I don't have a problem with legitimate law enforcement keeping an eye on dangerous people but giving the great bureaucracy the ability to limit or abrogate constitutional rights by fiat and in complete secrecy, goes against everything I believe in. America is no place for secret courts, secret warrants and covert surveillance of innocent people. Will some bad guys slip through? Without a doubt but that is part of the price of freedom.

It is actually quite simple: if US lawmakers and judges insist on the inability of law enforcement to pursue and neutralize potential terrorists then the US is not ready for Muslims to immigrate to our country and should deport those already here who do not hold citizenship.

This ruling is good news. The Left Coast has already declared that members of the NRA are "terrorists." You can be sure that once the Fascists are in power nationally, that list of domestic terrorists will grow exponentially.

I had a friend, named Roberta, she is a blue eyed blonde, but "Robert (her last name) was on the list.
For awhile, she had to fly OKC to San Antonio, at least once a month, maybe more. She got stopped at the airport going down and coming back, like they couldn't see she was a petite, buxom lady!
