Barbra Streisand: The Electoral College
‘an Assault on Our Democratic Principles’

Original Article

Posted By: M2, 9/5/2019 6:18:55 AM

Pop icon Barbra Streisand has declared that the Electoral College, a system widely seen as the bedrock of the U.S constitution and its democratic principles, represents an “assault on our democratic principles.” Speaking to The Washington Post for an article on what the U.S. Constitution represents to herself as well as other progressive figures such as Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Streisand described the system as “antiquated” and advocated replacing it with a system that allows the winner of the popular vote to win the election.

The electoral college was set up precisely to avoid direct democracy. We’re not a "democracy", Babs.

If there ever was a reason for Conservatives to vote in Illinois, California and New York, I think the Left would be surprised by how many Conservatives there really are.

The United States is a Representative Republic for a very good reason. Democracy is being ruled by the mob. The Founders knew this and wanted to avoid it at all cost. BS is ignorant of the country's founding. Therefore, her opinion holds no water. She and her fellow comrades reject any proof that the Electoral College is imperative for a fair election. Just because a leftist says something, does not make it true even if you are Barbra Streisand. That is what the left cannot get into their little pea brains-their thoughts do not equal truth. Arrogant ignorance is no way to go through life. Be woman enough to seek out the truth.

Hollywood finds these 'entertainers' shoves them down our throats and makes them rich beyond their wildest dreams. Without Hollywood's golden ticket what would this miserable creature have done with her life? She is so egotistical she desperately needs attention. Far too stupid to build a life or simply enjoy life she has to whine about her hangups. Don't bother studying history or try to be informed, just spew more entitled, elitist nonsense, because you are rich and used to be somebody. Now that's over and all you have is bitterness and attitude, tons of it. Happily the end is closer every day and there aren't many left for you.

Texas Republicans are sounding the alarm as Democratic presidential candidates get ready for their debate next week in Houston, warning that the Lone Star State could become more purple if the party doesn’t treat it as a 2020 battleground. Most in the GOP are confident President Trump will win Texas and its 38 electoral votes next year, and they think Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn will turn aside his Democratic challenger. But they are worried they will lose more House seats a cycle after Democrats clawed back two districts as they retook their majority.

Children had more than three times the risk of developing a personality disorder by age 30 if their mother experienced any level of stress or moderate stress while pregnant, when compared to children whose mothers had no stress. And they had almost 10 times the risk if their mother suffered severe maternal stress. The findings, published in the British Journal of Psychiatry,
