Over the three-day Labor Day weekend, 41 people were shot in Chicago, seven fatally.Davantae Jackson, 15, was supposed to start high school on Tuesday. Instead, he’s dead. Chicago has among the most restrictive gun-control laws, but Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) took to Twitter to point out that “disarming law-abiding citizens isn’t the answer.”“Gun control doesn’t work. Look at Chicago. Disarming law-abiding citizens isn’t the answer. Stopping violent criminals—prosecuting & getting them off the street—BEFORE they commit more violent crimes is the most effective way to reduce murder rates. Let’s protect our citizens,” Cruz wrote.
