Faculty members at Kansas University (KU) want to banish a campus Chick-fil-A back to the basement because it’s a threat to “the mental well being” of some on campus. The chicken chain is the most popular fast-food restaurant in America for the fourth consecutive year, but concerned faculty members think Chick-fil-A doesn’t represent the “safety and inclusion” of students, according to Fox News. (Photo) The Sexuality & Gender Diversity Faculty and Staff Council called the outlet a “bastion of bigotry” after it moved from KU’s basement to a more visible location that the council calls “prime real estate.”

Don't like Chick-fil-A or their owner's beliefs? Don't buy their product.
If others like Chick-fil-A and have no issue with their owner's beliefs, they should be able to buy their product.
See how simple?
Everyone gets to make their own choice. It's their body and their money.
I thought liberals believed in the right to choose.

Well this should be easy. All Faculty that are pushing expulsion of Chick-fil-A should be identified and parents and Alumni informed. Maximum effort needs to be made to terminate these intolerance communist wannabe's!

In the first place, they are NOT marginalized and LGBTQ people, they are the most open, vociferous and obnoxious of all minorities.
In the second place, can they name and document any instance of even one case that any LGBTQ person--or any customer no matter how outrageous their behavior--that an employee has NOT treated with the utmost courtesy and politeness? It doesn't happen.

Chick fil a doesn’t impose their views on anyone. The idiots at KU are the ones who are discriminating against someone because of their beliefs. Typical leftist bigots.

If Chick-fil-A or any American corporation had a policy to discriminate against any person with respect to hiring or service base on their sexual orientation they would be put out of business in Federal court. The beliefs of their founders and employees is protected under the First Amendment and any attempt to harm their business interests based on KU policy would be met with the same legal response as Oberlin College got from Gibson's bakery.

First, stop whinning and do something. Christian students should band together and send a message to the University that they feel persecuted and threatened by the homosexual and other sexual proclivities cabal. Tell the University that one feels uncomfortable with the level of hostiliy towards them based simple on their religious beliefs. And send letters to the Goobernor and state reps and senators. Demand the univeristy provide physical protection for Christians as they fear for their safety. Make the University answer questions from state goobernment officials and see how quickly this crap ends.

I'm a member of the so called "oppressed" minority, and wholeheartedly support Chick-fil-A. The ONLY position that they have publicly taken is on same sex marriage. A position that I happen to agree with. That said........... Calling Chick-fil-A a “bastion of bigotry” seems......shall we say...slanderous?
Whereas the real “bastion of bigotry” is the university left wing, intolerant of non-left-wing thought. A text book definition of bigotry.

CFA always takes the high road on things like this. As part of this, they do not sue when entities act the fool about their locations. However, I would love to see a lawsuit and some of these people be held accountable for the charges they have made----a la the Gibson Bakery lawsuit. This "safe space" business is just ludicrous. The country folks used to call this kind of thing "climbing fool's hill."

What on earth has made Kansas University so damn whiny? For grown-up they do set up a cavil about a gnat! Glad they don't like Chick-fil-A; means more for me. KU, pull up your drawers and go home.

They must really like hamburgers. How else can a place that sells chicken sandwiches be a threat to one's mental health. Seems to me, if any faculty member views Chick-Fil-A as a hazard to the safety of anyone, those faculty members need to be removed from teaching anyone. These people have severe mental issues that no amount of education can cure.

Hey K State - Chick-Fil-A doesn't care where the dollars originate, LBGTQ+ dollars are as good as non-LGBTQ+ dollars. So LGBTQ+ community get over yourself. You aren't that special as consumers, you are just customers to Chick-Fil-A.

You would think University Faculty would understand the definition of “bigot”.
Would they do the same to a company owned by Muslims who actually criticize gays? Nahhhh. That would be bigoted.

Very childish, and selfish-- typical childish behavior. Obviously they are of the generation "Everyone Gets a Trophyism". So, they are self-centered and intolerant. And they are darned intolerant all the while thinking they are the open-minded ones.

KU administrators might want to re-think the position here. You might end up like the University of Missouri did a few years ago. They are still struggling for that fiasco.

Don't go confusing Kansas State with K-Who? Kansas State is in Manhattan, KS, and K-Who is in Lawrence, next to Lake Clinton. (I'm an Wichita State alum, but 4 siblings graduated from K-State, and a fifth got his J.D. at K-Who.) As far as Chick-Fil-A on the K-Who campus goes, Christian students should, as much as possible, boycott the (anti) diversity faculty and staff.

If your "mental well-being" hinges on whether you see a Chick-fil-A on campus or not then I think you have some issues that may preclude you from being on campus at all!

I suggest those who are terrified of chicken sandwiches be banished to an asylum. You need help and you need a lot of it. What a pathetic gang of brainless wonders this faculty must be. But then that seems to be the one thing that most of these elitist professors have in common these days. Their lack of intellect is only surpassed by their lack of tolerance and hatred for all things that do not agree with their Caligula like thinking, if you want to call it that.

Sorry but as an afterthought, shouldn't all Muslims be banished from their campus since they have exactly the same belief that the Christians at Chick Fil A have as part of their religion? Some actually believe in throwing people from tall buildings for this behavior; as far as I know the Christians only preach forgiveness for sins not actual stoning. Notice no one ever asks any of the fab four in Congress what their position is on this topic.

I pray God blesses and protects CFA. When you think about it, it's amazing there hasn't already been a high profile case of some gender-confused person who works there, claiming some kind of discrimination. Let's hope it never happens.

Perhaps CFA has a written (or unwritten) policy of no visible tattoos or piercings. I can't ever recall seeing any. That would eliminate 99% of the misfits.
