A Honduran woman drowned in the Rio Grande this week and Border Patrol agents were still searching Thursday for her 3-year-old boy, swept away with her. The woman and child appear to be the latest casualties of the illegal immigrant surge that’s left a spate of tragic deaths in its wake this year. Authorities said they spotted a group of 12 suspected illegal immigrants attempting to cross the river at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Agents responded and some in the group said they’d been with a woman and her son, but the two had been swept away by the current.

Risky behavior sometimes results in bad outcomes. If she had stayed in Honduras, she and her son would still be alive.

As the original poster of this article suggests, our failure to secure the border leads to deaths like this. The behavior and rhetoric of the Democrat Party, which essentially encourage illegal entry to the United States through the southern border, only make matters worse, resulting in more deaths and misery.
Death and Misery. This could be the new slogan for the Dems in 2020!

Prayers for her helpless son. The mother deserves to become fish food.

How long before the Rats and their lap-puppies, the Useless Media, lay this squarely on the shoulders of President Trump? You know they will, it's what they do.

If she could have seen a 30-foot wall just on the other side, perhaps she would not have waded in at all.

The Catechism lists 11 ways you can share the guilt of someone else's sin. Those ways include tempting someone to wrongdoing, incentivising, enabling, rewarding, assisting, covering up, failing to admonish/prevent if you are in authority or in a position to do so.
This poor mother died with a burden of guilt on her soul, for her poor little one (who I hope will be found alive) was dragged deliberately into harm's way and exposed to unnecessary fatal risk.
But she was from a relatively powerless class, compared to those Global Powers-that-Be who dangled rewards in front of her, invited her, urged her on, and promised her shed be in the Land of Milk and Honey once she crossed that river.
No, she ended up someplace else. We can still pray for the Mercy of God. But I feel not at all inclined to mercy,to the political Powers who push and shove these people around like pawns on a global chessboard.
May God give them --- what He wills.

I have had some experience on the border with illegals. It's a long and old story but it pertains to the Guatemalan civil war. I learned a great deal. Among the things I learned was that the illegal aliens were sold a bill of goods. They were lied to and robbed of everything by the coyotes who told them that they were not only welcome in the US but that they'd be safe and rich in no time. Now we have democrats telling them they are welcome to not only come on in but that we're glad to house and feed them in perpetuity. A few little details were left out of the brochure causing people to be in situations that they did not willingly and knowingly enter.
I have no idea what this mother thought would be true and what she faced had she not attempted to make that crossing. Nor do I know anything about the circumstances of her situation that could have made that risk seem to be a rational choice, or to make her so vulnerable to the lure of the sales pitch by coyotes and democrats.
I won't condemn her and suggest in any way that she got what's coming to her but will rather say a prayer for her and her child right after I hit enter.
I'm a little late I see #7 was in the same vein well before me.

The article doesn't say where along the Rio Grande this happened, but it was in the Del Rio Sector. That is in Southern Texas. All I can say is that once the water is released from Elephant Butte Dam in Southern New Mexico, the water level today is at 7 feet. Must have been much lower by the time it reaches Southern Texas, but if it's anything like that picture, is still quite high. It would take a good boat or raft to cross it safely. Not something a woman and child should attempt, even if they didn't "want to wait in line."

So, a wall would save lives, too.
Where does the "it is worth it, if it saves ONE LIFE!" group show up to fight for the wall they way they fight against my Constitutional right to keep and bear arms?

Swept away by the current, and by the prospect of a lifetime of free healthcare, education, and what have you, aided and abetted by our failure to secure the border in any meaningful way. Shameful.
