New York City Mayor de Blasio’s wife has rejected the results of a public vote calling for a statue of Mother Cabrini (pictured), a Catholic saint, and instead opted to honor other “women,” including two drag queens.
Chirlane McCray, the mayor’s wife, launched a “She Built NYC” program and invited the public to vote on the names of women they want the city to recognize with a statue. Mother Cabrini got more votes than any other woman (219), yet McCray’s panel rejected the public’s choice.
Without explanation, McCray decided on a group of people that were nowhere near the top choices picked by New Yorkers, including the two drag queens who founded

Another woman who polled high was Emily Roebling who, after her husband was stricken with caisson disease, helped him to finish the Brooklyn Bridge. All the women that McCray picked were minorities, gay, or not even women. Leaving out Mother Cabrini and Emily Roebling is a travesty.

The tiresome hacks Chirlane McCray and her gargoyle-faced husband are brats who have discovered a way to be brats professionally and, perhaps rightly, scorn the society that rewards their behavior. Chirlane may actually take the cake. A black self-professed feminist and activist lesbian she wound up marrying a man so white he actually was christened “William Wilhelm”. She then gave birth to two units of issue who she apparently raised to be obnoxious ‘60’s style radicals, one who as a high school student sported an Afro the size of Jupiter and probably made a habit of being the guy who sat in front of small people at movie theaters and plays. Now, in a breathtaking act of snotty nose-thumbing, she has found a way to honor men using a project devoted to women. And, for her, the cherry on top is to flip off the humble faithful.

It's simple. Mother Cabrini is Catholic or simpler yet she is Christian. We can't have any statues of religious figures on public ground under any circumstances regardless of the good they did in their life time.

If New Yorkers continue to honor these fools, they deserve them.

If serious about honoring the many women who built NYC, they could erect an ensemble statue----something like the wonderful tableau at the Wall in D.C., which gives moving generic representation to all American soldiers in the Vietnam War. The tableau could give representation to women of the various periods and from various backgrounds.

It makes sense that one who embraces infanticide would writhe like a demon in the pits of hell at the notion of honoring a saint credited with obtaining from the sacred heart of Jesus the miraculous healing of a baby whose eyes were accidentally burned out at birth by a nurse who used 50 percent silver nitrate on his eyes instead of 1 percent. Prayer healed that baby who grew up to become a priest. And he was not blind.

What else would you expect from a woman who describes herself as a “former lesbian”. I’m amazed that the alphabet crowd has anything to do with her since she is an apparent example of the fact that one can leave homosexuality behind.

This sorry excuse for a human couldn't clean St. Frances Xavier Cabrini's (a.k.a. "Mother Cabrini") dirty laundry. The latter saved thousands of American lives, the former is a sick, cruel joke.
Imagine this disgusting, "former lesbian", virago as the First Lady if somehow a miracle greater than those performed by Mother Cabrini somehow got her loser husband elected POTUS!

I can't wait to see DeBlasio and his ilk gone from NYC. He has made a mess of this iconic city. He can leave and take Beto, the other laughing stock in the Democrat line-up.

Unfortunately, the dims don't generally gravitate to this website. If they did they might learn something horrific like this. These are the people who want to control your life. Try that on for size.

I don't blame her for keeping her own name; it is for sure the mayor didn't. They should settle on a common last name. How about MUDD? (Meaning no disrespect to the doctor who helped Lincoln's assassin.)

It is typical of Progressives/Democrats to flagrantly disregard the will of the people they are supposed to serve. The substitute replacing the people's choice seems to have been chosen to show maximum contempt and hatred for the will of the people of NYC. The fact that the people of NYC will be given the bill to pay for producing this travesty is rubbing salt in the wound!
Why the people of NYC elected de Blasio mayor is incomprehensible to me.

I hate to be crass, mostly (but not in this case), but I finally saw a picture of de Blasios wife (?) and I have to say, he didn't marry her for her looks.

Got in himmel! This depraved lesbian wacko and her deranged socialist "husband" are proving, day in and day out, that the voters who elected Wilhelm care no more than the two of them in the city's welfare and heritaqe.

IT also nixed 895,000,000 dollars out of sight.
IT also nixed any chance of Deblahblahblahsio's chances of seriously being considered a contender for the FUTURE DOG CATCHER of NYC.
How NYC...Why?

I believe all that drag queens have ever contributed is a feeling of disgust. How could they be honored as women who helped build New York, when they are not even women, as everybody knows? We are all just supposed to pretend that their mental delusions are real, and participate in enabling them. Mother Cabrini dedicated her life to helping others and should be honored.

The most recent eligible voter turnout in NYC the last time DeBlasio was elected was 18%. That means that 82% of eligible voters did not vote at all. Of those 18% who voted in the mayoral election DeBlasio received a 2 to 1 vote majority. That means that 12% of NYC voters who were eligible to vote at all elected DeBlasio mayor in NYC. That is a disgrace and makes our system a laughing stock. The fact that he changed his name from Wilhelm to DeBlasio and married a black lesbian woman and went to Cuba is just frosting on the cake. So is this a great country or what? Want to live in New York City? Not this boy.
