Salt Lake City — U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney said Monday that he believes climate change is happening and human activity is a significant contributor. During a speech at the conservative Sutherland Institute in Salt Lake City, the senator acknowledged that the position is rare among his fellow Republicans, but one that younger people seem to respond to more strongly than older conservatives.(Snip) The former GOP presidential nominee has acknowledged climate change before, and said during his 2018 campaign for U.S. Senate in Utah that “climate realities” will make wildfires more common and destructive in the West. His comments Monday took that stance a step further.

Romney--the new McCain, just like the old McCain. When I voted for Romney for President, just like I did McCain before him, I figured I was voting for the lesser of two evils. Now, as I think back on it, and what these two men stand and stood for, I was wrong. I think the left voted for the lesser of two evils when they voted for Obungler.

What has Mitt done personally to address climate change apart from flapping his gums? Has he given up air conditioning and central heating in favor of shorts in the summer and sweaters in the winter? Has he stopped traveling by airplane and opted for horse and buggy instead? Is every square inch of the roofs on his multiple residences covered by solar panels? Has he given up beef (which, of course, comes from flatulent cows)?
It is so easy for the rich and powerful to talk about climate change, caused by humans. It is quite another to see their behavior come into line with what they want the rest of us to do. Screw Mitt!

Climate change is happening because that’s what climate does. Any human who thinks they have any control over the weather is incredibly arrogant.

What an idiot. Definition: Climate noun: the weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period. Definition: Weather noun: weather 1. the state of the atmosphere at a place and time as regards heat, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain, etc. Summary: climate and weather are synonymous and mean the same thing. If anyone or any governmental agency knows how to manipulate alter or change either one of them please let the world know. Weather is driven by the Sun primarily. So change the amount intensity and power of sunlight/heat reaching the planet and you can change the weather. Let me know how that works out ok. For all of you climate-changeoholics out there you might want to take Step One and admit you are powerless over the climate and that your lives have become unmanageable. Then hit the local bar for happy hour early.

No 6 is spot on. No one doubts that there is climate change. Thousands of years ago we had dinosaurs. Where did they go? The climate changed, they couldn't adapt and became extinct. Some winters are mild. Others are severe. Some summers are super hot, others are not. Has the climate changed from one year to the next. Yes, of course. But does that mean that we are in a permanent warming trend? These days they call it climate change. Twenty years ago Al Gore used to call it global warming. Note how that phrase has gone by the boards. You can't prove it's warming, only changing. So no argument from me. I believe in climate change. How could you not? Climate changes every year.

Not so, and perhaps only in Utah. The humans around here are behaving as the creator intended regarding the earth and the fullness thereof. (Sin still reigns, a bit, but that too was mentioned long ago.) Oh wait, maybe Mitt meant only Chicago and San Francisco. Who know what RINOs think? But gee, doesn't he look really nice! Anybody know if he has ever gotten a callus from working, like in construction or something?

And why has the climate been changing for millions of years without any 'help' from mankind? And so on, and so forth...

Actually, #11, it was over 200 MILLION years ago. About 10,000 years ago, there was a 2 kilometer (1.2 mile) thick ice sheet from the North Pole to about central Nebraska. I'm calling that 10,000 years of global warming, and nary an SUV or coal fired power plant in sight.
Total BS. Man has no effect on the climate. And neither do women. Grin.

Spoken like a lefty Democrat.
The real sneaks and backstabbers in politics are the Republicans. Exhibit A: Mitt Romney.
The guy is a Democrat (or a Socialist). He should switch parties. If he does not, the Republican party should kick him out. He cannot be trusted.

Willard tries so hard for the approval of mainstream media, oblivious to the fact that they never will, except as a means to embarrass Republicans. He is what is called a "useful idiot."

No doubt there is and always will be climate change, here we call it nature. If the Democrat socialists win the election next year, institute their so-called “Green New Deal” and other associated programs, that end bankrupting the country, they will only be mitigating maybe about 4% of the nasty stuff that people all over the world are putting into the atmosphere. So what will the Democrat socialists do then, as chances are Donald Trump will no longer be anyplace close to DC for them to fraudulently blame?

Oh, Mitt, c'mon now. Really? Don't hard facts mean anything to you? Warming and cooling of our globe have both taken place normally over eons, and not due to human actions. Humans often do cause some very bad worldwide problems, socially, economically, militarily, politically etc., but neither worldwide warming nor cooling are among them, as attested by numerous creditable, true scientists.

Mitt is probably figuring out a way to run against Trump with Scaramoochy's help. Go for it Mitt, you will get all of the Rinos, establishment Republicans, Republican leadership, the Deep State and the swamp to vote for you but they each only get 1 vote, so do the math Mitt, no real people like you Mitt and there are more every day that don't see a viable alternative to Mr Tweeter himself and will be willing again to hold their nose, think about their wallets and vote for Trump.
