Election 2020:
It’s the Crowds, Stupid!

When Bill Clinton successfully unseated sitting President George H.W. Bush in 1992, Clinton’s campaign manager James Carville coined the phrase, “It's the economy, stupid” as a campaign theme. (snip) Rather than listen to the nay-sayers on cable news, use your own eyes. Look at crowd sizes and enthusiasm as a better metric than opinion polls which oversample Democrats, the same polls that predicted a Clinton landslide victory.
Despite CNN’s constant contention that “President Trump is on the ropes,” remember that “it’s the crowd, stupid.”

FTA: "Rather than listen to the nay-sayers on cable news, use your own eyes."
Better yet, don't listen to cable news and ignore polls.

If the dimmies had their way and abolished the electoral college, they would be twice embarrassed in 2020.

Using "stupid" in direct address is rude and crass, regardless of political campaign.

Not mentioned in the artlcle is the fact that, at the same time that PDT was holding his 20,000 attendees rally (8-9,000 of whom were outside watching on Jumbotrons, the Demonrat front runner was a town or two over holding his own rally and got a whopping 30 people to attend.

Polls have been weaponized by the media. Polls that are pushed on the public are worthless indicators of the truth.

Remember all of the yard signs for Trump in 2016 and how few there were for Clinton? They were sending a real message about who would be the next President, much as the crowd size is forecasting now.

Everyone should just relax as there is a full 441 days to go until we vote for POTUS. Until then, I will wear noise cancelling headphones and horse racing blinkers. When I day finally arrives, I will walk over burning coals and broken glass shards to vote against EVERY Demo-rat on my ballot from the White House down to the dog catcher.

It wasn't Bill Clinton who unseated Bush, it was Ross Perot who siphoned off a great number of conservative votes.

#7 I'm a big fan of Right Side Broadcasting Network and have never missed a Trump rally. Not only are they run by young Conservative, but also do a great job and operate solely on donations. I would love to see them grow as the alternative to FOX and to keep everything on the Right Side.

Hope this indicator has validity. But my first election was Barry Goldwater (AuH20) versus Lunkhead Lyndon. Barry had large and enthusiastic crowds. But Lunkhead won in a historic landslide. If one of the idiot dims wins I'm going to bury my wallet in the back yard.

No sympathy for the media or the hangers-on (pollsters) but it may be entirely possible that they have attended so many events, rallies, etc. and been treated like VIPs (riding on candidate's bus, front row seats, all-access passes etc.) that they begin to assume that stagecraft is real life. A Hillary speech looks like a Trump speech - a podium, bright lights, human backdrop etc. The reporters literally never turn around to gauge crowd size/enthusiasm. Actually, one reporter took a photo of a Hillary campaign stop - 2/3 of the gym was empty but the reporter herself cropped the photo to make it look livelier!
The point is that the mythmakers begin to believe the myth, not least because they are rank partisans.

For Warren, 700 is a big crowd, for her!
But it is nothing compared to the thousands that turn out for President Trump.
CNN -- fake news all the time.

And yet . . . somehow Trump didn't win the popular vote. Either most Dimms don't go to rallies or something else (voter fraud) is going on!

I'm wondering if President Trump is considering a couple California rallies.
Sticks and stones and all that aside, he could win California. If you live here you know what I'm talking about.

The "crowd" for Warren would have been in the single digits save for the fact that many were paid to show up by the likes of Soros, et. al.

I'd love to see a Trump Rally in the Hollywood Bowl. When it gets filled, there would be splodey heads all over the Golden State and the MSM.

As a Trump supporter, I am curious what the effect may be on pre-election "polls" from perceived or actual threatened violence toward Trump supporters.
If I lived on either of the coasts or in Illinois I would be extremely reluctant to voice any support, even in a "confidential" poll, for Trump. Fortuneratey, even in Jefferson County, Texas, a Democratic stronghold of Texas, I still feel safe in voicing support for Trump (because I can lawfully carry a handgun to protect myself), but in Austin, San Antonio, and definitely in left and right coastal states I would not tell anyone, let alone a stranger on the phone, I was a supporter of Trump.
I have tried to see if there are any articles/discussions/surveys on the surveys or polls to see how or if it is possible to measure the effect of possible violent repurcussions (a la antifa) on supporters of a particular position. I have conservative family members in California who generally do not discuss politics for fear of some sort of retribution or retaliation.

Right on, #20. I'm thinking the Colosseum in LA or Qualcomm in San Diego. The only time I ever saw The Q packed to the gills was when Billy Graham came to town. Donald Trump could do it; I don't doubt it for a second.
THAT would be something to behold. Here's hoping.
Sorry for the double post. I'll shut up now.
