Charlotte, N.C.—The release of a rape suspect has reignited an immigration enforcement debate. Last week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Oscar Pacheco-Leonardo, 33, a Honduran national, according to a news release. He was arrested on June 14 charged with first degree rape and indecent liberties with a child. Two days later, on June 16, Pacheco-Leonardo was released from the Mecklenburg County Jail on a $100,000 bond.(Snip) The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office does not honor ICE detainers, which are voluntary requests to hold an inmate for up to 48 hours after their release date so federal officials can decide whether

Can't imagine the local citizens are happy with that. If they even know about it.

We need to hold these bureaucrats and 'policymakers' accountable that break laws to release criminals, who then commit more crimes.

Yes! Put a name to it. Each and every time. America, here is the low-life who protected the low life.
The Left is a pile of individual bad decisions executed in furtherance of a childish, unrealistic Utopian dream. Keep bringing them back to the harm they cause on a daily basis. Keep holding them accountable for bad acts.

It should be a law that states if a law enforcement agency or judge lets a criminal bail or bond out or is released and that person does another crime, then those who were responsible for letting them go be charged with the same cime and be incarcerated. And that should go for attorneys who represent these miscreants that go off and do more harm. And that should hold for the idiots in politics that degree sanctuary cities, counties, states et al.

If the Feds/DOJ would simply start charging these Leftist LEO's for all the additional crimes against citizens, they would change their tune in a big hurry. Charge them with being accessories after the fact. I hope that poor woman sues this county and that rotten sheriff into oblivion. The activist judiciary and LEO's need to face reality of what their hate is doing.

The voters of Charlotte might not appreciate having another rapist running loose in their county.

Wonder if Sheriff McFadden has any daughters? Could be dangerous with a Honduran peckerhead on the loose.

Don't defendants have to come up 10% of the bail amount as payment to the bail bondsman?
If so, how did this very illegal immigrant obtain a lump sum of $10,000??? Is he such a humanitarian that his neighbors gave him the money? Somehow I doubt it.
Someone from North Carolina might be able to say. And I wonder why no reporter appears to have asked. This is a travesty from the judge on down through the ''sanctuary'' crowd.

Now, a question.
Is that CRIMINAL malfeasance, misfeasance, or nonfeasance in office? Or, perhaps, anti-feasance?
How many years in prison, general population at that, should these scuzzy "public servants" be serving?? And with or without public floggings as well?
Meanwhile, begin the practice of automatic execution of all ILLEGAL ALIENS. They have no Civil Rights whatsoever. Human rights, yes. Civil rights, no.

Yes, public servants who release miscreants into the public arena who recommit crimes, should be held accountable. Somewhere along the line, someone needs to be held accountable for this.
Also, #9, you need a break. Take a few days off from reading the news- you are losing your humanity.

The sheriffs dept. cars probably have that time honored LEO slogan somewhere on it, saying "To protect and to serve." Serve who, we might ask. We're told to honor law enforcement and we're told to counter 'Black Lives Matter' with 'Blue Lives Matter', but this is why so many people don't trust or honor law enforcement. I won't lump all law enforcement together because there are some good ones, but there are also some bad ones.

I have no idea what the requirement is for the bail bondsman regarding the percentage he gets for issuing a bond to one who has been arrested. But from a business point of view you have to ask yourself what bail bondsman in his right mind would provide a $100,000 bond for the release of an illegal? Is the bondsman hoping to loose his money? Because he surely will. This perp will skip and go hide until he's caught by police the next time.

I naively believed that sheriffs were on the up and up.and could not be corrupted, but after Obama and Clinton, I can believe any government employee can be corrupted one way or another. Way too many examples to prove the case.

I agree that the sheriff did not act in the n=best interest of his county. However, all parties concerned need to step up their game. ICE seems to be lackadaisical in getting around to taking possession of these creeps. It causes a burden on the locals. The sheriff also made the point that he lacks discretion once the judicial branch has set the condition for release but he was more than a little cute in trying to shift the blame. The parties need to learn how to work together. Their BS little fiefdom issues are causing harm.

How did this creep post a $100,000 bond? 10% so $10,000, I don't believe that for a second. No bondsman would take that bet, ever. He just hops the border and heads back home. Something stinks bad about this one. No friggin way.
