The FT is clearly run by globalists who want to keep Britain enslaved to the EU bureacrats in Brussels. I hope that Boris Johnson can hang on until they get their no deal Brexit. We'll be visiting Britain next month and it will be interesting to talk to people about this issue, mostly to listen to what they have to say. Maybe ask a few questions, and listen to the answers, and learn what the British people think without the filtration through dishonest media like FT.

There was never going to be a deal. Any one of the 25+ EU members could veto the deal. And, there are plenty of them that would do that just to spite the UK.

This may be a simplistic question, but how can the EU prevent the U.K. from leaving? Will they send in the blue helmets? Surely, the US would veto that move. There is no European army, and even if there was, the U.S. would come to the aid of the U.K. Is there some surefire economic/social way for the EU to force enslavement?

Britain survived just fine before the EU, well, with help from the US and they will be much better off if they can accomplish the break. The EU as a functioning organization is all but dead and they realize that without Britain, the entire Leggo construction will fall down. Focusing on Climate Change and uncontrolled immigration from the third world instead of regional security is probably the biggest reason for their impending downfall. They should have stopped their rush to the One-World plan with common currency but no, they had to go too far. Kudos to Angela Merkel and that French twit for expediting the process.

Since June of this year, six members of the NYPD have committed suicide, bringing the 2019 total to eight. This represents a sharp rise within the department, which has averaged between four and five suicides annually. The increase has many wondering how to curb a disturbing trend. I don’t pretend to have the answers, but I hope that these deaths will prompt reflection on the often-grim reality of being a cop. We should ask ourselves whether the critical posture that so many have taken (in New York, in particular) toward police in recent years reflects an appreciation of that reality. When asked what they imagine

Attorney General William Barr said Monday that he was “appalled” by Jeffrey Epstein’s apparent suicide over the weekend, but urged that the millionaire pedophile’s co-conspirators “should not rest easy.” “This sex trafficking case was very important to the Department of Justice and to me personally,” Barr said during a speech before the National Fraternal Order of Police in New Orleans. “Let me assure you that this case will continue on against anyone who was complicit with Epstein. Any co-conspirators should not rest easy.”

Ronald Reagan phoned President Nixon in 1971 and described African ambassadors at the United Nations as “monkeys” who were “still uncomfortable wearing shoes,” the Atlantic magazine reported recently, calling it evidence of “Reagan’s racism.” Anyone who refers to humans as animals is a turkey. But so long as the topic of racism by a Republican president is in the news, let’s give this one a closer look. About what was Reagan so upset?

This weekend’s number one box office movie Fast and Furious Presents Hobbs and Shaw features tons of big guns and several shooting senses. The Universal Pictures spin-off ruled the box office, hauling in a solid $60 million. And the first Fast and Furious spin-off starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham feature some gruesome shooting scenes and very big guns, debuting on the same weekend that Hollywood stars where seen calling for stricter gun control laws in the wake of two deadly mass shootings across the U.S.

The Democrats are making a mistake, in our view, in trying to blame the crimes at El Paso on President Trump. It’s not that we don’t see the temptation. “El Paso Shooting Suspect’s Manifesto Echoes Trump’s Language,” is the headline on the New York Times’ Website this morning about the screed being laid to the killer. No doubt about it, there is much at which supporters of Mr. Trump will cringe. Then again, too, Mr. Trump’s is not the only language echoed in that demented document. Start with the title — “The Inconvenient Truth About Me.” Whose language is echoed there?

In just about 15 months, Americans will once again cast their vote for president. Although it's not clear yet who the Democratic nominee will be, we do know that President Trump will be the Republican candidate. When he first ran for president, he did so as an outsider. In other words, he ran against the failed policies of the ruling elites. This time, however, Trump actually has a record to run on. He may get criticized for his statements on immigration and such, but one thing nobody can take away from him, not even his most passionate leftist detractors: the economy is booming.

Liberals are insane. That’s not news, at least to anyone who watched even clips from the Democratic debates this week. They promised a unicorn that poops gold while paying for your health care and college, giving you a high-paying job and foot rubs at will. If you completely ignore the reality of the hell on earth their socialistic policies would create, it sounded wonderful. But you can’t ignore reality with these people. Any of them. It’s reality they want to “fundamentally transform.” To do that they’re not only willing destroy what exists now, they have to destroy

Elijah Cummings (D-MD) for the conditions of the city of Baltimore that have existed under Cummings’ tenure. Carson, who practiced neurosurgery in Baltimore, said he was familiar with the problems of the city. He also said he did not think Cummings and Trump were bad people but that he thought Trump was questioning Cummings’ priorities. “Well, first of all, you know, as a pediatric neurosurgeon, I spent many hours, s

Robert Mueller’s less-than-stellar performance last week before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees seems to have left just about everybody trying to explain it. Descriptions on both the left and the right sides of the aisle included words like “ineffective,” “confused,” “struggling,” and “frail.” A consensus soon formed perhaps best summarized by a tweet from radio talk-show personality Mark Levin: “As I said when Mueller gave [his] speech in May, he is feeble. I say that not as a personal attack but as a rational observation

Like many others, I have for some time been trying to understand Trump Derangement Syndrome, the phenomenon of otherwise reasonable people reacting irrationally to some peculiar quality of the president, a quality especially in evidence when he is in the presence of his supporters. Some of it is easy enough to comprehend. Unlike any president since at least Jackson, Mr. Trump was elected by attacking the entire political class from right to left and practically all leaders of both parties and the parties themselves.

It's hard to understand what congressional Democrats hope to achieve by summoning a reluctant Robert Mueller to appear before the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees on Wednesday. The former special counsel's exhaustive 448-page report has been done for nearly four months. It's been public for three, with the country having plenty of time to absorb its comically anti-climactic conclusion that, although the 2016 Trump campaign did a lot of shady, underhanded things, none of them technically amounted to criminal conspiracy (collusion) with the Russian government, and that, although there was substantial evidence of obstruction of justice on the part of President Trump himself,

It’s not that they hold it against Pete Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend, Indiana, but they fear the rest of the country may not be ready for a 37-year-old, married, openly gay man to sit in the White House, so they are reluctant to help him win the party’s presidential nomination. “Pete Buttigieg is interesting to me, but, honestly, he is probably not electable, and the last thing I want is Donald Trump in office,” said David Cline. “I do believe his sexuality is an issue for folks, which is too bad.

"First of all, the biggest mistake that we have — and it's a trap that gets set by the Right, whether intentionally or unintentionally — is just the frame of asking, 'Is blank racist?'" the New York Democrat explained, arguing the conversation needs to be about racism itself, not the people who ascribe to it. "Like all winning political phenomena ... they rely on coalition building," she continued.
