CNN anchor Chris Cuomo is facing backlash after suggesting that calling an Italian "Fredo" is equivalent to the N-word.
Cuomo, 49, made the comparison after someone called him "Fredo," a reference to the weak character from The Godfather.
“No, punk-ass b--ches from the Right call me ‘Fredo.’ My name is Chris Cuomo. I'm an anchor on CNN,” the newsman said. “‘Fredo’ was from The Godfather. He was a weak brother and they use that as an Italian slur — are any of you Italian?”

Hey Fredo Cuomo, do you think you helped your position or hurt it. Fredo? You think more people or less are going call you Fredo, now? Don't think too hard Fredo, you might pull something. Fredo? Hello Fredo. You think you made yourself into a bigger joke than we already think you are? Fredo?

He said, "I'm an anchor on CNN" like it was a point of pride or something. Sounds like something Fredo would do.

I'v been Italian "all my life" and have never heard that expression used, not in my presence anyway. Mama would not have approved.

Hard to believe that this man is a lawyer and the son of Mario Cuomo. He is one of the most self-inflated poseurs on TV today. Opinionated, arrogant, self absorbed. Have I missed any other descriptions?

Oh Chrissy, no matter what you are called, you will always be the stupid brother, dumb and easily manipulated by those who are smarter than you. If you didn't have the name Cuomo, you would most likely be sitting in an office somewhere, being the pathetic drone you are. I have never seen anyone who could be considered too stupid for politics until Chrissy. Pretty face and a legacy name. That is all he has. Fredo didn't even have the pretty face.

Listening to this lunatic screaming profanities, I keep hearing Fredo crying, "It ain’t the way I wanted it! I can handle things. I’m smart. Not like everybody says, like dumb. I’m smart and I want respect!"
What a loser.

He so stepped in it !! He is going to be baited forever. He will always be waiting for the person he is interviewing to drop it to get a reaction. I hope he is on a watch list. He appears pretty unstable.

Chris "Don't you know who I am?" Cuomo is only where he is because of who his relatives are. As a not talent thin skinned hack on CNN, he should be able to withstand comments he does not like. However, as he is really a spoiled talentless brat, he has a temper tantrum whenever something threatens his distorted liberal view of the world.

I hear that Rush is getting the blame for this nickname but I first saw it in a Kurt Schlichter column. He even uses it for those mushy RINOs in DC and the “conservative” pundits like George Will, calling them “Fredocons”.

"Fredo" is used all the time, by people of every ethnicity, to describe an underachieving brother. And Fredo Cuomo cannot be ridiculed enough, IMO.

Cuomos-BOTH of them- are simply an embarrassment to the HUMAN.
The ONLY reason they get a paycheck is because of TAXPAYER monies or TAX breaks.
'Fredo' is a COMPLIMENT to Chrissy. Try 'WOP'. That's what my grandfather overcame. And by the way-he ha\d a REAL JOB.

I think that the President's use of "Fredo" was a double secret Trojan Horse IED against Cuomo. What if I told you the "Fredo" the president referred to was not a gangster but a real American hero. On the History Channel series, "Dogfights," pilot Don Cherry is flying over North Vietnam with another pilot, Fred Olsmith (?) whose call sign is Fred-O, killing Migs. This week, Cuomo goes nuts. Next week, the president says he was comparing Cuomo to Fred-O, not some Italian stereotype gangster, for his commitment to his beliefs.

Fredo knows that the heckler meant that he was stupid, not that he was Italian. That must be Fredo's soft spot.
