Italy's Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini has issued a stunning rebuke to actor Richard Gere who criticised the country's refusal to let in more than 100 migrants stranded at sea. Golden Globe winner Richard Gere visited a boat with 121 migrants on board in international waters near the Italian island of Lampedusa.(Snip) The right-wing League leader Matteo Salvini, whose party topped the polls in the recent European elections, hit back and urged Gere to 'support them in his villas'. Salvini said: 'Given this generous millionaire is voicing concern for the fate of the Open Arms migrants, we thank him: he can take back

How fitting that this college dropout achieved the height of his stardom with a movie titled "American Gigolo". And this is the clown who is going to lecture the world on migrant policy?

Our system allows the leftists to help anyone they would like. The left can stop forming political non-profits for violence and the spread of hatred, and form 501(3)'s to pay for helping whomever they like, and the left can also volunteer their time to help. But the left doesn't, instead forcing other people to pay for their causes, and threatening others with violence. The left is a hypocritical, violent lot.

Good for Prime Minister Salvini for telling the Hollywood actor to practice what he preaches.

Two thoughts: (1) Richard looks a bit worn. (2) why is the rebuke “stunning”? Because Richard is rich (and therefore deemed powerful and knowing?) or because he was famous (and therefore deemed powerful and knowing).
He has no more standing or credibility than any LDotter. Joe needs to learn something about journalism and how to write.

The narrative must not be that we are not taking in refugees. We are. It is simply madness to bring in unvetted aliens. The left is hellbent to kill the goose that lays the golden egg ie: Western Culture. If it goes, so goes the world. This message must be repeated and repeated often. God Bless us.

These leftists like Gere are trying to throw us back into the Dark Ages with their ridiculous efforts to flood the West with the third world. As #14 said, the left is trying to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. What utter nonsense. As goes the United States, so goes the world. Who will or could step up like we have always done? China, Russia, or India? Please. This country is the last best hope for the world and once it’s destroyed by the idiocy of progressivism, there is no freedom or hope. It will all be misery and chaos.

Only spent a few days in Italy passing through, but loved it. Met the nicest people and the food was amazing. Looks like Mr Salvini managed to smack the Hollywood jerk down very smoothly without even calling him an -ist or a -phobe. Nicely done.

Mr. Laws, why don’t you write some articles about left-wing politicians? Oh, I forgot, in the world of journalism even communists are never called left-wing.

Richard Gere, just another hollywood clown. This is what drugs does to the brain. The Italian PM is right in calling out Gere. You wanna help'em. Take them home on your private jet and support them for the next 30 years. These hollywood morons always have a new mission but it never has anything that benefits our country.

Spot on, Matteo!! Gere is a big phony. He seems to have broken with his guru who stated that Europe belongs to Europeans, etc...! Another rich, irrelevant Hollywood has been!
