Bernie Sanders and the real
life lessons of Socialism

Unapologetic, openly socialist candidate Bernie Sanders is surrounded by controversy and kick-back these days. In the Democrat debate, he found himself playing defense against a plethora of attacks from 2020 Democrat hopefuls. Multiple moderates challenged both Sanders and Elizabeth Warren for going so far left that the election may be lost and handed to Donald Trump. America is not ready to embrace socialism. Defending “big ideas” always sounds like a clever response. Unfortunately, it turns out that Sanders also has difficulty putting into action ideas that are not so big.

I have big ideas too. I want to build and live in a lake front 5000 sqft house with 32' cabin cruiser at the dock. Since I cant magically poof into existance the funds that I need for my idea, unlike polliticuans, Ill have to settle for my land locked standard family home with inflatable raft.

Mother Nature vs. SCOTUS: CO2 and the Supreme Power of sovereignty 5 replies
Posted by BigAlPeoplesPal 8/1/2019 1:48:00 PM Post Reply
Sir William Blackstone defines sovereignty as “supreme power.” This power is unitary. It cannot be shared or limited in any way. Thus, “quasi sovereignty” cannot exist. The Supreme Court ruled in Massachusetts v. Environmental Protection Agency (2007) that carbon dioxide is an air pollutant under the Clean Air Act. The result of that 5-4 ruling was that the EPA could be sued by the states for not controlling CO2 emissions. The states, according to the court, have “quasi-sovereignty.” So, what can go wrong, apart from Blackstone’s denial of such a thing and the modern view of a sovereign nation?
Baltimore, poverty , and the liberal epidemics of Congressman Cummings 3 replies

President Donald Trump created a firestorm when he criticized longtime Baltimore area Congressman Elijah Cummings, D-MD. Here are some of the president’s actual tweets over the last weekend. "Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous.” Trump pointed out that Cummings’ Baltimore district isn’t just poorer or more violent than the average district. It’s in a second-to-Venezuala category of dangerous.

President Trump is the focus of leftist ire for stating the obvious: Baltimore is a rat-infested armpit under the control of ineffectual, virtue-signaling Democrats. Worse still, the President focuses on one Baltimore Democrat in particular – Rep. Elijah Cummings. Many in the media were quick to declare Trump a racist for his modest suggestion that Cummings refocus his attention on the very real problems inside his crumbling district.

Sunday, President Donald Trump announced that Texas GOP Rep. John Ratcliffe is his nominee to replace Dan Coats as Director of National Intelligence (DNI). It is a significant development following Ratcliffe’s devastating questioning of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller last Wednesday. That verbal confrontation proved a contrast in Republican mindsets. Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller is the bumbling, ineffectual, swampy Washington Republican whose stellar reputation among the media is commensurate with his usefulness in supporting false Democrat narratives.

Ilhan Omar is either the most admired or vilified member of Congress. You like her or you don’t. She is totally anti-American or just what America needs. Those that support the Somali immigrant see her as a fighter and agree with her goal of transforming the US into a socialist country. To others, Ohmar hates America, white men and people of Jewish heritage. She is a supporter of Islam and Palestine. Omar is an anti-semite, proven by her BDS resolution. She promotes profiling and jailing white men, a popular idea among the socialist end of the Democrat party.

The cunningness of Bill, and Hillary, Clinton is not a well-kept secret. Trivia interesting to note is that the former President has the most “monikers” or nicknames of any US President. These include, but are not limited to, Slick Willy, Big Billy, Bubba and combining the two politicians, Billary. Former President Obama calling Clinton the“Secretary of Explaining Stuff.” Which is interesting as there is a lot to explain. Pilot logs and Jeffrey Epstein’s Little Black book among them. To quote Ricky Ricardo (I Love Lucy) “Bill, you have some splaining to do.”

There are just some people that deserve to die. That need to stop sucking the oxygen out of the room. Consider Timothy McVeigh, (born April 23, 1968, Pendleton, New York, U.S.—died June 11, 2001, Terre Haute, Indiana) McVeigh is an American militant who carried out the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995. The explosion, fueled by fertilizer and fuel oil, killed 168 people – including dozens of children in a daycare center. It was the deadliest terrorist incident on U.S. soil, until the September 11 attacks in 2001.

Planned Parenthood has fired its director, former emergency room physician Dr. Leana Wen, after only eight months on the job. Wen wanted to make Planned Parenthood more about women’s health issues, its stated purpose, and less about abortion. The abortion body parts scandal under her disgraced predecessor, Cecile Richards, decimated fundraising. Planned Parenthood blamed Wen for attempting to make the organization more palatable to the public in the wake of widespread condemnation and disgust.

As most Americans celebrate the 50th anniversary of mankind’s greatest achievement – Apollo 11’s “landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the Earth” – we should also remember the men of previous NASA missions who paved the way. There was also Frank Borman. Borman was Commander of Apollo 8. In 1968, his tiny capsule was the first manned vessel to orbit the moon, famously photographing the Earth as it rose over the bleak and cratered lunar horizon. They also gave a dramatic Christmas Eve reading from the Bible’s book of Genesis.

Fifty years ago today, Democrat Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy got drunk (allegedly) and drove over a bridge (really). Kennedy left his female passenger Mary Jo Kopechne to die. He never answered for leaving Kopechne to die. Fifty years ago today began the tradition of the liberal media covering up everything bad that liberal Democrats did. Thus allowing liberals to become more emboldened. Benghazi and “Fast and Furious” just two of many examples of getting innocent people killed, then covering it up.

Outraged, the woman shared it with her friend Danay Helena, who in-turn shared it on Facebook where it has since been shared thousands of times.(Snip) In a later interview with CNN, the hairstylist said the poster particularly concerned her because it only seemed to be singling-out the hairstyles of black students.

What ever happened to Barack Obama? For a while there, no modern figure was supposed to be as consequential. It’s difficult to describe the hype in the early days of the Obama era. Time, Newsweek, and countless deep thinkers cast him as a 21st-century Lincoln or FDR. Some literally saw a messianic figure — “The One,” in Oprah Winfrey’s words. Self-help guru Deepak Chopra said Obama represented a “quantum leap in American consciousness.” George Lucas speculated that he might even be a Jedi. It was a global phenomenon. In a move that embarrassed Obama himself, the Nobel Committee gave him a Peace Prize on spec

Republicans have long idealized Texas as a deep-red frontier state, home to rural conservatives who love President Donald Trump. But political turbulence in the sprawling suburbs and fast-growing cities are turning the Lone Star State into a possible 2020 battleground. "The president's reelection campaign needs to take Texas seriously," Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said in an interview. He added that while he remains optimistic about the GOP's chances, it is "by no means a given" that Trump will carry Texas - and win its 38 electoral votes - next year or that Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, will be reelected. For a state that once elevated the Bush family and was forged into

Rep. Ilhan Omar was just an opening act. Now, another ungrateful migrant has come out of the woodwork to tell us how awful we are and how ingratitude for being allowed to come here is the rightful state for migrants. Calcutta-born Suketu Mehta, a bitter revanchist who would have been ripped to shreds as a fourth-rate, fourth world 'intellectual' by V.S. If there's one amazingly bad take on the Democrats in 2019, it's the idea that they're somehow not secular, and appeal to a strong base of secularists. On Friday night's PBS NewsHour, the Week in Review segment ran typically with lots of Trump denunciations -- David Brooks compared him to George Wallace and Father Coughlin -- but then David Brooks touted kooky Marianne Williamson pushing an "uprising of decency" for the Democrats, as he did in his Friday New York Times column. Brooks insisted "you can't beat a values revolution with a policy proposal.

So, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee (HJC), fresh off his committee’s disastrous session with Robert Mueller, has announced his intent to obtain access to the secret grand jury testimony taken during the Mueller investigation. It matters not that Mueller concluded there was insufficient evidence to bring charges against President Trump; he and his entire two-year investigation are now being disowned by ardent Democrats dead set on impeaching the president. Nadler’s hope is to uncover some testimony, however remote, that he can claim as the basis for an impeachment initiative. It is settled law, at least within the District of Columbia circuit,

In The Case for Trump, Victor Davis Hanson, a classicist and military historian, brings his expert knowledge from years of academia to bear on his analysis of the political and sociological events that led to a Trump election. The Hoover Institute scholar doesn’t ignore Trump’s flaws or gloss over his failures, but he also doesn’t exaggerate them. Hanson does not paint a black and white portrait of Trump, but uses a Machiavellian shade of gray to demonstrate that, despite his flaws, Trump is the one to get the job done. He likens Trump to Augustus, a renowned builder; to Julius Caesar bravely crossing the Rubicon;
