Leadership at the Washington National Cathedral released a statement Tuesday criticizing President Trump’s rhetoric after he attacked House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Rep. Elijah E. Cummings and the “Squad” of four congresswomen of color.
In a rare political statement from the church, leaders said Mr. Trump’s “dangerous” diction is being seen as a white supremacist “call to action,” adding that “violent words lead to violent actions.”
“As faith leaders who serve at Washington National Cathedral — the sacred space where America gathers at moments of national significance — we feel compelled to ask: After two years of President Trump’s words and actions, when will Americans have enough?” they said.

I've posted my Eternal Truism many times - - but I'll do it once more - - - -
"Sooner or later - - every institution which doesn't have to generate a profit in order to survive - - will be taken over by communists."
Any disagreement?

The Catholic church is led by a communist, so this is no surprise. Sad state of affairs when a President who says what he will do and does what he said is making America great again and the religious left opposes.

We dropped in for an afternoon Easter service. It was a nice non-political service. It's also a beautiful awe inspiring cathedral. sigh. Only violent and dangerous words against Republicans and conservatives are permissible.

OMG, yes! Let's condemn the President's rhetoric! Because THAT's what's causing all of the problems....not the catastrophic failure of Commucrat leadership all over the country that has lead to rat and disease infested, financially broken cities everywhere while THEY all seem to be fat and happy in their gated, guarded communities while accusing US of being divisive and racist! Yeah....Trump's the problem fer sher (Sarcasm off)

The left has tried everything to shut Donald Trump up. They started with racist, homophobe, sexist, white nationalist, now dangerous. This man (or his followers) must not be allowed to speak!

As an institution, the Episcopal Church forfeited its moral authority half a century ago. Such a pronouncement from its national cathedral is just one more reminder of this fact.

I saw the National Cathedral twenty-five years ago. A beautiful building. I enjoyed seeing it. Too bad about its occupants.

They don’t like the presidents rhetoric! Wow the man who is giving the church back their rights to not pay for abortions, to be able to speak freely from the pulpit! Where is their condemnation for the hundreds of priests, bishops and cardinals who have done more to damage this country with their actions than anything Trump has said! Where is their condemnation for the city of Baltimore where NOT ONE high school student is proficient in math or English? Oh wait wasn’t the church in Baltimore part of the sex scandal in the Catholic Church? Maybe they got a little of the Baltimore slush fund?...... where are the auditors?

C’mon, posters. Get your facts straight - this cathedral is Episcopalian, NOT Catholic!
Besides being pro-homosexual, they are also “pro-choice”. IOW, not Christian at all.

Maybe they should ask when will we have enough of the fools who are practicing Churchianity, which is nothing to do with God. All these people abandon God in favor of worldly trends. I imagine the shock they will have when God tells them in His mighty voice 'I do not know you'. Then He blasts the stench right out of His nostrils into oblivion where they belong. To a previous poster, I am not sure they are communists, but they ARE Churchian. They no more resemble a Godly way to live than Cummings represents somebody who fights for his constituents in Baltimore.

The leftist thugs have infiltrated pretty much all of the upper levels of organized Christianity, from the Pope on down.
It appears that, at this point, only a fraction of the local parishes are still working strictly on real Christianity.
I was raised a Methodist, and from what I have seen of the national Methodist leadership, I have close to nothing in common with them any more.

Does that "church" enjoy tax freedom on its income? Withdraw that. They've abdicated their status as a religious entity with their politically slanted pronouncements. Tax 'em.

Maybe they should have to answer questions about the tenets of their faith. Like "Do you believe Jesus was right to throw the Moneylenders out of the Temple?".

The Washington Cathedral is just a beautiful building. It is run by liberals who are trying to be PC. They do not speak for all Episcopalians. Do not lump all Episcopalians into one group. There are many Christian Episcopalian's who do not adhere to the teachings at the Cathedral. The Episcopal Church, like the Methodist and Catholic, are drifting away from the real teachings of the Bible. They will lose more members if they keep this up . There is no wonder that non-denominational churches are popping up all over the country and Christians are flocking to them. Pray for America and the Church.

This is example 763592 for why I've divorced myself from all organized religions.
They are either fire and brimstone, or everything is peachy unless its conservative. When said church condems the dangerous rhetoric on the left, then I may take them seriously. Until then, pound sand.

Everyone's getting into the act....
I think Trump's verbal demeanor is just fine. He doesn't talk DC. He talks like the average American talks. That's why people like him. When people verbally attack you, you fight back. People understand that. Taking the 'political' high road as Bush 43 did gets you nowhere. Americans don't like wimps. Dems are proving themselves to be wimps. Every time Trump fires back at them, they whine even louder. That works for me!

While I agree that this Pope is a communist (or at least a hard-core socialist), he and his church have nothing to do with this story!!!

They are Espiscopalian, what do you expect? This is the denomination so fractured because they believe in gay marriage and have no problems with homosexuality. Jesus wept.
