LAS VEGAS — At first, the co-owner of the quirky alien-themed motel down a Nevada highway from the mysterious Area 51 site didn’t take a posting for a prank Facebook event too seriously.
Then, her phone started ringing.
“It doesn’t stop, our phone won’t stop ringing,” Connie West, of the Little A’le’Inn, told the Las Vegas Sun.
The 10-room motel is one of few businesses in Rachel, a town of 54 residents now gaining celebrity status among aviation and UFO enthusiasts attracted by the posting about a Sept. 20 event dubbed “storm Area 51.”
More than 1 million people have responded to the internet post calling for people to “Naruto run” at 3 a.m.

If they're just going there to have a nifty, tongue-in-cheek kind of party, great...wish I could join 'em. If they really think they're going to rush the base, I hope they've made their funeral arrangements.

I'm betting that like so many protests and gatherings lately, the vast majority will be reporters and photographers. Actual stormers will be very few and after seeing the security response they will turn back quickly. Hope everyone has a good time and makes some new friends, but thats probably going to be the extent of it.

Apparently I have reached my max on the Washington Times this month. I can only read the posters first paragraph. Either way, if these idiots storm Area 51 wearing their tin hats, all they will find out is what a secure military base is really capable of. It will not be pretty and the stupid gene may be thinned out a bit.

You know what the military is going to do when people storm Area 51? Absolutely nothing! JUST LIKE THEY DO WHEN ILLEGALS STORM OUR BORDERS!

Lots of phone calls to the only motel in a town of 54 people is "overwhelming"?
This will be a bust.

If only we could get the democrats to flock to Area 51 and stay there. But, then on the other hand, we don't want to scare off the aliens who, from time to time, come to check us out.

I don't think these folks know what kind of non lethal weapons that would be used to make the sun and heat more than uncomfortable.

Get there a few days early and watch the squadrons of saucers fly out to another location in the middle of the night.

A pinned post on the page attempts to cover its bases, reading "Hello US government, this is a joke, and I do not actually intend to go ahead with this plan. I just thought it would be funny and get me some thumbsy uppies on the internet." But as the event has gained traction -- inspiring dozens of memes and jokes -- the profile of the situation has risen, so much so that the US Air Force has been made aware of the potential impending raid.
And they're not as lighthearted about the situation as folks on the internet are.
"[Area 51] is an open training range for the U.S. Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces," a spokeswoman told The Washington Post. "The U.S. Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets.”

In another article, a spokesperson said they will use “deadly force” if necessary. And that planes and helicopters are ready at Nellis Air Force Base.

I've flown around the east side of Groom Lake a few times at doing NVG Red Flag stuff with some A-10 guys and during the day on the west side doing some low level student training. Due to the traffic, the first several dozen will able to get their cars parked nearby but most will be walking from Indian Springs, the prison or Lost Wages if even ten percent of the 1.5 million show up. It's a two lane highway and it's… REMOTE.
This is but one example as to why we need to return the favor should we ever explore far away planets with sentient life. We should only contact the goofiest and loopiest nutballs on those planets.

The US government does not mess around with the subject of UFOs. Their list is longer, in terms of years and numbers of people, than the Clinton Arkancide list.

The aliens have been removed from Area 51 for decades. They are on ice, inside a mountain, in Antarctica. It's too hot in Nevada to preserve dead aliens...
In other news, democrats have admitted that they are the real racists, and will not oppose President Trump in 2020.

I guess the number of visitors depends on how many of their mothers gave them permission to go.

Thank you, #1. More than my 1st cup of coffee this morning, I need that robust laugh your post engendered. I'll grin all day each time I think of it. And I heartily agree.
I wonder if the National Guard will be in desert fatigues. Oh, there will be guards, the regular guys and several other companies along side.

Area Denial System (large portable microwave) was considered too controversial for overseas deployment (Afghanistan) but would be perfect here. Not exactly a phaser set on stun, but those insisting to move forward would be swiftly dissuaded ( non-lethally, of course). No way of knowing if ADS still exists or if it can be used for crowd control (at least on the main traffic route), but it would allow security personnel to cover other accesses.

What if this is not a "Joke", but a trial run, to see what the Government's response would be? What if the next Naruto Run was to storm the White House to remove the "Racist President who stole the election"? Not so funny now, is it?

I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. I work through this link, go to home tab for more detail ... >> www.works7.com

Let us hope that the military plans to use CS teargas and not bullets on these idiots. The prime idiot that proposed this should get some prison time for reckless endangerment for promoting this stunt.

Many of the people showing up for this event harbor a secret hope that the aliens monitoring the internet will use it as the opportunity reveal themselves and make the world a better place. However, I'm afraid the only person intending to serve man in Rachel, Nevada (besides Linda Looney) will be Alferd Packer.
