Former Fox News contributor Bob Beckel broke a confidentiality agreement over the weekend and claimed that his ouster was the result of “set-up.”
One of the original hosts of “The Five” told a St. Louis-based radio station that President Trump is linked to his May 2017 departure from the network.
A statement released by Fox at the time noted “an insensitive remark to an African-American employee” who dealt with information-technology issues.
“I’ve decided to use your radio show to be the first time I will say this to anybody, and that is in my view that I was completely set up by someone, and my guess

What is it with liberals/democrats - that agreements you sign, as witness to your consent and acceptance of the terms, later allows you to abrogate the agreement you 'agreed' to abide by? I had my fingers crossed? I was drunk at the time? The devil made me do it.... You have to pass the Bill to find out what's in it? You're family's savings w/b $2500 a year? There are thousands of 'shovel ready jobs' in the $900 BILLION bill? I did not have sex with that woman.....why do we give the benefit of the doubt to people that tell REALLY BIG LIES to our face?

Beckel is a typical angry democrat who focuses on race above all else. I don’t know what he said because his presence on The Five had made me turn it off months before he left. When I was watching it was clear he was a hot head whose mouth was writing checks his brain could not cover. He was a train wreck waiting to happen whenever he opened his mouth. I don’t miss him or the show and most nights I only watch Tucker Carlson. Fox is not what it used to be.

Beckel always admitted he had many problems??? He may be asking for people to bring up his checkered past? I still like him better than Juan. I’ll. take 100000 Beckels over one Juan!

He has no idea how many would thank PDJT for this if it were true. It isn’t. Beckel’s demise was a diy job...

Beckel claims he was ousted because he was the loudest voice on that network against Donald Trump. Bob, you made yourself irrelevant.

Gee, I just figured he was fired because he kept falling asleep, burping and snorting on-air. If Beckel had a tattoo emblazoned on his forehead with the words “I’m ready to retire” he couldn’t have been less professional. And to say he was the loudest voice at Fox against the President is absurd because he was the loudest voice at Fox about everything. Maybe it’s easier to accept your failures if you can blame the most powerful man on earth but if you’re a guy on one of dozens of inconsequential round-table talk shows it sounds kind of nuts.

We watched The Five from the beginning. Bob was always unprepared to speak on the Subject of the day. Most of the time he sat there with his eyes closed. He slurred his words. I would guess it was the Drugs! He was in Rehab, then back on the Show. He did NOT belong at FOX. He hated Conservatives! We were very happy when he was replaced Too bad they settled for Juan!

I'm with #3 Judy, he was so a train wreck headed for a smashup. He was also an alcoholic old socialist union man talking as if we still lived in the 1930's. Angry most of the time. Juan may feel 75 percent the same way but he does have the ability to not get mean about it. Hard to watch someone who is ready to start a bar fight every night over issues that few who turn on Fox supports. Although there are fewer and fewer shows I can watch on Fox, some might as well be working for the alphabet networks, others seem to be embarrassed that Trump is President and they have to "explain" him.
It will be interesting to see if any of the left networks give him a chance to do his angry old man stuff for their audiences.

Don't worry, Bob, Juan is filling in for you nicely although there is no doubt whether he is saying stupid things deliberately or just for shock value.

Stopped watching The Five because of Juan. He is extremely obnoxious, shouts over the other panel members, lectures waiving his finger. I just find him unpleasant to listen to. Amazing, both his sons are conservatives.

Maybe the whole thing started because they had to put his makeup on for the show at a pub down the street from FOX.

I have no need to listen to old drunks/druggies. My parents owned a tavern, and I saw enough of that to last a lifetime.
As for Juan, I actually felt sorry for him yesterday, as he defended Bernie Sanders and his manipulation of his campaign workers' hours of work to boost their hourly pay. Juan was just pathetic.

I still DVR The Five daily. I fast forward until I get to Greg Gutfeld's monologue. When it's done, I delete the rest of the show.

Ha, #18, I do pretty much the same.
But I also fast-forward to near the end of the show, in hopes of seeing an "Animals are Great" video (also a Greg Gutfeld production).

I never liked Beckel and never saw the appeal of The Five from when it first aired to today. It has to be one of the lamest shows anywhere on network television.

BB is one of the dullest commentators to ever populate the airwaves. His reactions were always knee-jerk and his voice was slightly more pleasant to listen to than metal claws across a blackboard. Just. Go. Away.

Bob Beckel was far more likely a victim of Obama and Holder. Obama was still President and he and Holder created an environment where FOX was constantly under attack for being RACIST. Like many corporations, FOX instituted strict policies to prevent being labeled as being racist. While on “The Five,” on several occasions Beckel made crude remarks about people. It is very probable that he made “an insensitive remark to an African-American employee” that got him fired.
Like many other Progressives, it is always somebody else's fault.

I have a somewhat differing opinion than many other posters, based on first hand experience.
By way of clarification, the MERE ACCUSATION of this “abhorrent” behavior was sufficient to cause his job loss….why he accepted it and left….?
I am in my 60’s and have been employed full time since my late teens.
Some 12 years ago, I was subjected to the HELL that follows an unsubstantiated “accusation” regarding a “hostile environment” in the workforce. In a nutshell I was “accused” of behaving in a “perceived hostile way” toward a female co-worker.
When I stood my ground and demanded an investigation, I was exonerated. That being said, the time frame over which this played out made it an extremely difficult time for me, my loved ones, and my work enthusiasm.
Just today my wife and I were discussing the frustration that I feel, with the inclusion in “Company Employee Handbook”, that “Recognition and use of a persons “preferred pronoun, and failure to comply with that preferred pronoun, may be considered a hostile work environment”….have we finally fallen down the proverbial rabbit hole?
While I don’t care for Beckel, or his political positions, in my humble opinion, he may well have been set up, and the “progressive environment” that he and his fellow “progressives” have created, ate him alive.
Is he actually a “victim” of the insane policies that he and his kind have foisted upon the rest of us?
