Trump the time-traveler confronts
the Morlocks and the Eloi

H.G. Wells's novel The Time Machine seems an apt analogy for the political storms of the day. The Left, unmoored since the election of 2016, has become demented, furious that its confident assumption that Clinton would win was wrong. (snip) Chakrabarti and his cohorts are like Morlocks, the ape-like troglodytes of H.G. Wells's novel. Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow pretenders are the witless Eloi, childlike adults who lack curiosity or discipline and have no sense of the value of life.

The squat squad Eloi? I don't think so! They are Morlocks too. The Eloi may be the youth, who have been conditioned to respond to the Morlock's signal (dog whistle!) and present themselves as fodder for the democrats.

The "squat" is muy better than the squad. They came, they saw, they squatted.

What a pity we never found out what H. G. Wells was smoking, or ingesting. Maybe something between really great MJ and powerful LSD. Perhaps it could have cured cancer or other diseases. We'll never know but we can call out the Morlocks and the Eloi to our own amusement. But it actually accomplishes very little except bandwidth. Of course, most of us want answers, not descriptions.

Quick! Call the diversity police! For the fourth time in five years the US team placed first in the International Mathematical Olympiad, this year tying for first place with China. The six U.S. team members also won gold medals for their individual high scores on the Olympiad, known as the world championship mathematics competition for high school students. However, this very dominating winning team does not look like America -- all members are males, 5 Asians and one Caucasian, judging by appearances. Race, gender, ethnicity, family income, sexual orientation or other identifiers do not factor in to qualifying for the team to attend the Olympiad.

Senator Ted Cruz faced down and won re-election in a heated campaign against not just a fake Hispanic pretty boy named Robert Francis O’Rourke, he defeated an intense propaganda offensive undertaken by Texas and national media. That propaganda was not enough to convince Texas voters to hand a majority to O’Rourke, the already-wealthy populist who married an heiress to an estimated half billion-dollar fortune. But the propaganda campaign did convince O’Rourke that he had sufficient political assets to mount a presidential campaign. Poor Bobby has now discovered that it was all just a matter of the media’s hatred for Cruz. (snip) Ted took a well-deserved dose of schadenfreude.

Trump-haters are rejoicing in what they see as a major fissure separating President Trump from his base over the Greenville, North Carolina rally’s crowd chants of “send her back!” (snip) President Trump already has taken public notice of the controversy over some of Rep. Omar’s potential frauds. I have to assume that the Department of Justice has opened an investigation into these matters. If it hasn’t there is something wrong. So, it would be imperative for President Trump to avoid any appearance of being responsible for persecuting her.

Once again Trump’s critics have made fools of themselves. With few exceptions, the beltway establishment pundits (and not a few Republicans) denounced his tweets on the four radical female freshmen now bearing the brand name of “The Squad’ as a gigantic mistake, a violation of the rule that when you opponents are self-destructing, stay out of their way. (snip) speaking off the record, some House Democrats have told CNN’s Jake Tapper that Trump outsmarted them. Nobody would go on the record with the truth, of course

Fresh from the messy House bid to condemn President Trump for his tweets, House Speaker has another embarrassment on her hands -- her inability to control Rep. Al Green, who launched his third impeachment bid against President Trump, failing spectacularly just like the past two times. His measure was squelched, 332-95, which President Trump tweeted gleefully. That act, from the House's most feeble-minded member, is going to undercut Pelosi own bid to set the stage for impeachment.

There exists in this country a cultivated mindset that conservatives are all things evil. We have gradually devolved into fictional characters, invented by the left, and animated by whatever awful thoughts, beliefs, and imaginary actions the anti-American hate cult can conjure up (snip) The progressive loons that have risen to prominence in the Democrat party tell us clearly what they intend, and who they mean to attack if and when they are calamitously returned to positions of power. They are expressly, gleefully coming for us, because of the hate that we don’t have, but which they say we do.

President Trump was raked over the coals by both the left and right for his tweet storm on Sunday (snip) But here’s something you may not have considered, given that everyone (and I mean everyone, as I’ve yet to see a pundit suggest anything to the contrary) seems to be assuming that the tweets are meant to call out Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley – or “the Squad,” as this quartet of freshman Congresswomen has been so stupidly dubbed by Maureen Dowd. When we racist, sexist homophobes use the word "catfight," we are merely observing — as you are not allowed to observe — that women fight each other differently from how men fight. It seems to us deplorables that women fight by calling each other names. And so, in the catfight last week between Our Nance and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, it ended with Sandy O calling Our Nance a racist. Once again, President Trump has flaunted his scorn for the media-defined norms of the American political conversation. Under those informal rules, Republicans can be labeled racists with impunity and America can be trashed as irredeemably racist, evil, and shameful. But any criticism of “people of color” for expressing such views is racist, as Nancy Pelosi discovered so recently. (snip) I think that Trump is calculating that in any contest between The Squad and Trump in terms of alienating these persuadables, sustained attention will favor him. Yesterday’s press conference by The Squad, which has received obsessive media coverage, made that bet pay off.

An interesting and much-missed aspect of the Jeffrey Epstein indictment is the way Democrats and Republicans view the matter. Republican politicians and pundits have tended to focus on the legalities of the arrest, Epstein’s guilty plea, and his brief imprisonment. For Democrats, as usual, it is all about politics and power. In not recognizing this, Republicans already have suffered embarrassment and may lose their own political opportunities. For a guy who is purportedly stupid and lacking in nuance, President Trump yesterday masterfully trolled Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party while superficially supporting her. In just a few sentences, speaking to reporters prior to boarding Marine One, he took the high road, affirming Nancy Pelosi is not a racist, gaining points as a healer. But at the same time, he aggravated existing tensions in the opposition party and pushed the ranks of Democrats into a circular firing squad formation where their anger can be directed against each other. All in less than a minute-and-a-half
