Iranian lawmakers on Sunday said they believe their country should impose a “toll” on all ships that pass through the vital Strait of Hormuz. The proposal comes just 48 hours after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) seized a British oil tanker traveling through the Strait, a key shipping channel in the region. In a statement Sunday, a group of Iranian lawmakers praised the move and said Tehran should go even further in exercising control over the Strait. “We support the IRGC Navy’s proper and firm measure to seize an offending British oil tanker and ask the IRGC to continue its path firmly and powerfully,”

Yeah, that's gonna last about two minutes. All President Trump has to do is send another carrier group or drop a few cruise missiles where the mullahs dance,

"from the halls of Montazuma to the shores of the Strait of Hormuz". has kind of a catchy ring to it.

Wonder if Obama and Kerry will get a percentage of the transit fees as payment for their traitorous advice to the muslim mullah savages who rule Iran on how to thwart the policy of the United States. These two need to be hanged as traitors.

And the responses from those countries that would actually be affected? Something like ''Hey America, save our butts again!''

It hasn’t happened yet, but you have to figure that the Iranians believe that the Euro-weenies will pay whatever toll they impose in order to keep doing business with Iran. But then again the Iranians had better think about the stranglehold that international UK banking interests by direction of the UK Government could put upon future Iranian international banking operations, that is sure to include covert UK intelligence efforts that are going to make all sorts of unforeseen circumstances befall the Iranians, and that is even before President Trump and USA assets swing into action.

Maybe it would give UAE (Emirates) an idea to build a canal and avoid the trip thru the Iranian "toll way". Plus they wouldn't have to load that crate full of quarters to pay Iran.

OK, we'll pay our toll with one 1,000 lb bomb delivered on one of their ships or air bases for each "toll charge".
How about that?

Not in the least surprising. There have been pirates in the region since Jefferson read the Koran and decided we needed a Navy. it will be interesting to see what our cousins the British decide to do about their tanker.

What dog does the US have in this fight? We don't import oil that transits the Strait. Why would anyone invest one American life for this? The Euros and Brits can settle this...use their military forces instead of ours...or not. There's a novel idea.

Does Iran realize that someday people will not need their oil?

This all goes back to the Iranians enriching radioactive material to a degree where that material is useful to manufacture nuclear weapons, as material enriched to that degree has no other use. Iran is an oil rich nation and has no need to be highly enriching radioactive material for power needs, other than to build nuclear weapons. If the truth be known chances are that Iran has been enriching nuclear material contrary to their agreement with Obama, Biden, and Kerry, all along in violation of the agreement.
The problem from the get-go is that Obama ignored the old Reagan rule of thumb, “Trust but Verify” when he was negotiating his deal with the Iranians, and without a competent inspection criteria to ensure that the Iranians are not cheating, the Obama agreement is very dangerous to Israel, Saudi Arabia, and ultimately the USA. Trump recognized that, and obviously Obama did not.

The UAE could build a nice canal and tell Iran to go poke it where the sun don't shine....

We don't need troops to sink their navy & blow their air force outta the sky.
Nor turn their ports into bonfires.

The "head in the sand" types imagine that WHEN Iran gets their nuclear weapons that they will just "play nice" and not buther us any more?
Get real.

Let's let the UK and those affected handle this. Now, should Iran try to hijack any American vessel then Iran's navy will cease to exist. This is not Barack Obama they are dealing with now.
