Impeachment vote a warning --
to Trump and Pelosi

Original Article

The headline of the House vote on a resolution to impeach President Trump was that lawmakers rejected it by an overwhelming 332-95 margin. But the story was something else: 95 Democrats vote to impeach the president, not for any alleged high crime or misdemeanor, but for causing "harm to the society" of the United States. The vote, in other words, showed that 95 Democrats will vote to impeach the president for anything. For them, there is no need to accuse Trump of a high crime or misdemeanor involving Russia, or obstruction of justice, or campaign finance violations, or any other arguably impeachable activity.

A warning to Trump? Really? So the IQ distribution of the US House is skewed towards stupid. How is that a worry to the President?

The fact that President Trump is so adept at making these people stand up and identify themselves for who they really are is one of the big time bonuses of having voted for him. The contrast between this man and every Republican politician since Ronald Reagan is staggering. I can't imagine how much better he could possibly do if he had the support of other Republicans instead of their constant hand wringing and head shaking. He is making all other politicians from either party look BAD.

Just because Dems will vote to impeach a Billy goat for eat grass, doesn't mean the American people will tolerate it. There will be a huge political price paid by Dems for all this. Inside the Beltway, folks are sure Trump is toast. Out here in the really real world, we are sick and tired of this. And one doesn't have to be a Trump supporter to know Dems are showing they are unfit to goobern. Sorry Byron, your article to increase invites to liberal DC cocktail parties might pay you dividends but shows we the people just how out of touch the Kneepad Media is.

The Dems will vote "aye" when the time comes, likely joined by a handful of GOPe stalwarts, to gain a bi-partisan majority. This idea of identifying "Democrats (who) will vote to impeach the president for anything" is nonsense. Just read the roster of the House majority for that information. But it's all about the timing and political mood of the country...and the time will come after Labor Day. Whether the political mood of the country will allow "impeachment" is another question.

This highlights the fact that the dems think they above the votes of the American People. They have NO chance of prevailing in the Senate so all their idiocy is to no purpose beyond a show. A significant majority of Americans think the dems are wasting their time and yet they are pushing ahead, again snubbing the people. These are the same people whose votes they need next year. Their arrogance is unbounded.

NEW YORK - Support for U.S. President Donald Trump increased slightly among Republicans after he lashed out on Twitter over the weekend in a racially charged attack on four minority Democratic congresswomen, a Reuters/Ipsos public opinion poll shows. The national survey, conducted on Monday and Tuesday after Trump told the lawmakers they should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came,” showed his net approval among members of his Republican Party rose by 5 percentage points to 72%, compared with a similar poll that ran last week.

Stefan Halper, the shadowy Cambridge academic who may have helped the FBI spy on the Trump campaign, was paid more than $1 million by a U.S. agency for research papers of dubious value, according to a new government report. But even as it shed new light on Halper’s work, the report left unanswered central questions about his Trump-Russia role and raised new ones about the circuitous winds on which Washington dollars manage to fly out the window. In the months leading up to the 2016 election, Halper famously approached and questioned – sometimes amiably, sometimes aggressively --

A point has yet to be made about the four American socialist Democratic congresswomen whom President Trump is advising to go back to the places they came from. It’s not just that three of them were born in America. It’s that while Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Omar Ilhan, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley may change America, the likelihood is that America will change them even more. And it has a way of changing all of us for the better. It’s not that we agree with the Squad’s socialist sentiments. We prefer the kind of pro-growth, laissez-faire capitalism of which Mr. Trump is a tribune.

In a way, I can’t blame those who grew up in the Cold War for being pessimistic about the future. We lived then in an age of potential nuclear annihilation and Hollywood made sure that we knew about what would happen if it occurred. The studios rolled out film after film of post-apocalyptic dystopian worlds from Planet of the Apes to Soylent Green. These films were usually shot in vast desert areas in foreign countries because the truth is that America is still very, very beautiful.

America is a providential nation, chosen by God always to be a beacon of freedom and hope. In the freedom and opportunity it offers its citizens and in the example it offers to other nations, America is that "city upon a hill" envisioned by John Winthrop, first governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. By that, he meant that the pilgrim colony in New England, standing proudly as if on a hill, would be a model of goodness and right living for all to see. America is still that city upon a hill, but our future is less certain.

In 1958 Eugene Burdick and William Lederer published The Ugly American. The book was written to expose the failure of U.S. diplomatic personnel in Southeast Asia. The American diplomatic corps were boorishly indifferent to local language, customs, and culture. The book caused quite a stir in the waning days of Eisenhower’s administration, and Kennedy used it as springboard to launching the Peace Corps.(snip). A mysterious change seems to come over Americans when they go to a foreign land. They isolate themselves socially. They live pretentiously. They are loud and ostentatious."

There have now been five national polls since the first Democratic presidential primary debate. Together, the surveys, conducted by ABC News/Washington Post, Quinnipiac, CNN, The Hill/Harris, and Politico/Morning Consult, show the debate has shaken up the race. The field has separated into three clearly definable tiers, all atop a large group at the bottom made up of candidates with virtually no support. Within the first tier -- Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and Elizabeth Warren -- the leaders' positions are rapidly shifting. Since the debate, only one of the four -- Harris -- is up, while Biden, Sanders, and Warren are down.

The editorial board recounted numerous rhetorical moments AOC carried out (emphasis mine): Rep.
