Let’s Call The Liberals’ Second
Amendment Militia Bluff

The Second Amendment is so clear and simple that only liberals, aided by a half-wit liberal law school professor-tariat that is to real lawyering as Jerry Nadler is to Chippendales, could pretend to be confused about its meaning with a straight face. “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The whole “shall not be infringed” part is a real problem for the left, since collectivist Castro-channelers prefer that we Americans be defenseless serfs existing at the government’s (i.e., their) mercy when we should be armed, freedom-loving citizens with the personal firepower

I like the way he thinks, but I don’t think America any longer has the stomach for what he is advocating. Not in the numbers necessary to be effective, anyway.

“...Repel invasions”. Then we should all be allowed to take our weapons to the border and stop the illegals from setting foot on our soil.

Most states have unconstitutional laws ( I believe 34 out of 50) in direct conflict with the collective right to defend ourselves by forming a local militia. They are based on the absurd notion that a "National" Guard can serve as a deterrent to an overarching National government. Mr. Schlichter is using the same arguement I have used for decades. Essentially; ok then, if you want to examine the militia aspect of the 2nd amendment, try it on for size and see where it takes you. Frankly I have been baffled that this approach hasn't been in the forefront of the debate regarding individual rights. The collective right has been trampled on far more, and should scare the living daylights out of the communist revolutionaries. Yes #2. we have a right, no, actually we have an obligation to do exactly as you say, take up arms and defend our nation's border.

I read somewhere that the number of people buying hunting licenses in the U.S. exceeds the number of most countries armies! That does not include people who own guns, but don't hunt! So maybe the number of citizens that own guns exceeds ALL other country's armies. I think the states- even the ones that restrict gun ownership, in defiance of the Second Amendment- can raise a militia real quick when the time comes...

Most Americans will not organize into militias unless times get much worse. Ultimately each of us is responsible for his own security as the last line of defense. The police will come if called, but they're minutes away. In the meantime what are you going to do? At the moment there are some 18 million concealed firearm permit holders in the USA--two million plus in Florida--not including those who live in constitutional carry states where permits are not needed. Most of these gun owners are very conscientious about carrying properly and safely. Each year legal firearms are used to foil between one and two million crimes. After the shocking kidnapping of a close acquaintance last year I decided it was time to take myself out of the victim category and become a mortal threat to anyone who would try to ransom, hurt, or kill me. Now I am seldom more than an arm's length from a firearm. Same as most permit holders, I have no desire to shoot anyone, let alone kill anyone. But I have a duty not to be some predator's easy target. Have Glock, will travel.

Interesting take with a Supreme court precedant. In Miller v Colorado, a decision in the 30's that gets little notice because neither side likes its conclusions this argument was laid out. The case involved a sawed off shotgun and only obliquely addressed the second amendment. Spewcifically the well regulated militia part. First the part the gun grabbers love and we hate. Since the sawed off shotgun in question was not a militarily accepted weapon, not endorsed by the military, the states had every right to regulate, or even ban it. Now the part we like and the gun grabbers REALLY hate. Since the second amendment requires a citizen militia, they must be armed as well as their professional military counterpart, therfore the weapons used by the military cannot be regulated (ie banned) out of the citizen militias hands. So in essence the states can ban the ineffectual 22 pistol and grandpas double barrel shotgun but they cannot ban military firearms. I warned you its a decision neither side really likes because it upholds making some guns illegal but it also prohibits banning others. Its an interesting read. Its never been re-tested in the supreme court for example contesting "assault weapon" bans etc. A proper ruling would uphold the ban since the guns are not fully automatic like their military counterparts, the corrolary being the fully auto versions would be legal. I wonder how a modern supreme court would dance around it.

Two points to add to #7: first: Since Miller was deceased and the lawyer didn't show up to present evidence that trench shotguns similar to Miller's were used in WW1, and they alluded to it, where they said in the absence of evidence (they knew what was used in the trenches), they found for the government. Second: Why hasn't it ever been asked how one power given to the government, the power to tax, can be used to neutralize a government prohibition, '...shall not be infringed'. That's not what the constitution was written to allow. And the commies/leftards know it. Most others don't stop to think about it.

At least a dozen new victims have come forward to claim they were sexually abused by Jeffrey Epstein even as the multimillionaire money manager tries to convince a federal judge to allow him to await a sex trafficking trial from the comfort of the same $77 million Manhattan mansion where he’s accused of luring teenage girls into unwanted sex acts. Following Epstein’s arrest Saturday in New Jersey, four women have reached out to New York lawyer David Boies, and at least 10 other women have approached other lawyers who have represented dozens of Epstein’s alleged victims in the past. Jack Scarola, a Palm Beach attorney, said at least five women,

Kentucky Democratic Senate candidate Amy McGrath raised more than $2.5 million in the first 24 hours of her campaign against Mitch McConnell. It is reportedly the most money ever raised in the first 24 hours of a Senate campaign. The people who donated may as well have lit their money on fire. Unless Mitch McConnell is found to have dated teenagers while in his thirties, McGrath is losing, probably in a landslide. McGrath is trying to defeat an incumbent senator in a presidential election year in a state that will almost certainly vote for the president of the incumbent’s party, which is a historical longshot.

Major cities across the U.S. on Thursday were bracing for sweeping deportation raids this weekend, the second time in less than a month that Trump administration insiders have signaled roundups were imminent. The raids were intended as a massive show of force against undocumented immigrants by President Donald Trump, who last month tipped his hand when he vowed on Twitter that "millions" would be deported. While administration officials have called that estimate an exaggeration, they confirmed there are 2,000 people in as many as 10 cities who have been identified as a top priority for deportation -- many of them families. Those raids were called off

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Attorney General William Barr reiterated his intention to find out why the Obama administration launched an investigation into the Republican Party presidential candidate’s campaign during the 2016 campaign. Now, if the political parties in the sentence above were reversed, we would be in the midst of the biggest scandal in our lifetimes. As things stand, however, we are again compelled to argue over semantics. And one Barr quote, in particular, has gotten Democrats and their media allies agitated. “What we’re looking at is: What was the predicate for conducting a counterintelligence investigation on the Trump campaign?”

Sacramento- California’s cities, counties, and public agencies have secured a record tax windfall in recent years, as property tax collections soar, yet they continue to cry poor-mouth. There’s not enough money, they say, to provide adequate public services. Government officials and public-sector unions already have hatched a plan for the 2020 ballot that would dramatically raise property tax on commercial property owners by undermining Proposition 13’s tax protections. But a new report from the Orange County Register’s Teri Sforza hints at why these agencies never have enough money to do their jobs. Based on data from the state controller’s office, she found that “More than 100 city and county workers

Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein never once checked in with city cops in the eight-plus years since a Manhattan judge ordered him to do so every 90 days — and the NYPD says it’s fine with that. After being labeled a worst-of-the-worst, “Level 3” sex offender in 2011, Epstein should have reported in person to verify his address 34 times before he was arrested Saturday on federal child sex-trafficking charges. Violating requirements of the state’s 1996 Sex Offender Registration Act — including checking in with law enforcement — is a felony punishable by up to four years in prison for a first offense.

Perhaps the most historic, in the sense of era-defining, moment in the history of the Academy Awards was that standing ovation Roman Polanski got when he was given Best Director honors in 2003. There they are, leading Hollywood liberals, leaping to their feet to cheer for a man who, at age 43, gave a 13-year-old girl Quaaludes for the purpose of having sex with her and sodomizing her. Polanski suffered in no significant way for his crime, and today it seems obvious he should at the very least be denied the highest honor his profession can bestow. In 2018, Polanski (along with Bill Cosby) was expelled from the Academy

Wow! How insulting. Is Pelosi saying that only white people count as citizens? If a black man like me answers “Yes” to the question President Trump wants to ask — “Is this person a citizen of the United States?” — would that make me white? Trump never has said anything remotely resembling what Pelosi claims,
