Ravelry: Woke "tolerant"knitting site bans open Trump supporters

Piqued by a Fox video news report concerning the banning of Trump supporters by the popular online knitting site, Ravelry, I checked things out late last week. After all, I’ve been a member of Ravelry since 2011. Obviously, I wanted to find out what was happening. Here’s what I viewed on the main page of Ravelry: “We are banning support of Donald Trump and his administration on Ravelry. We cannot provide a space that is inclusive of all and also allow support for open white supremacy. Support of the Trump administration is unambiguously support for white supremacy.

Look how badly, or rather how well, the Republicans-as-white-supremacists meme has penetrated American society. When do we start fighting back?

Leftists are pathetic. Good grief. They’ve literally ruined everything. Shrinks should start offering Groupon discounts, I’d buy some giftcards and hand them out at Christmas! Great stocking stuffers for the lefty nutterbutters in your life!

“What if you gave a war and nobody came?” These have to be those same moronic dimbulbs who busied themselves madly knitting a gazillion pink pussy caps. May they spend their days in isolation...

They obviously have no problems providing space for the most stupid among us though. Most who are into yarn hobbies are the most peaceful people and easy to get along with. It is the Leftists who ruin everything fine and good in this nation.

Leftists are masters of cognitive dissonance. They provide a space that is inclusive of all, but cannot allow support for the Trump administration. Two opposing thoughts in the same sentence, held in their minds simultaneously. Is it a space that is inclusive of all, or only those beliefs you will "allow"?

More Ravelry members are voicing their objections to Ravelry banning President Trump supporters by posting videos on YouTube. Well-spoken, moderate, and reasonable, these women provide some unexpected points of view concerning their reasons for departing. That said, it seems that a significant number of Ravelry members have launched an ad hoc WalkAway movement. But this time, it’s WalkAway from Ravelry.

Bolshevik rampages in Portland, Andy Ngo beaten by Antifa Brown Shirts (Update) 9 replies

The brutal Antifa violence inflicted on journalist Andy Ngo in Portland is part of a growing wave of leftist violent confrontations across the country. The attack appears to have implicit support from local Democrat authorities, including Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler. It’s increasingly clear that from Portland to Berkeley to Charlottesville, Virginia, hardcore leftist brown shirts, led by a growing cadre of Antifa thugs, are resorting to open violence. Intimidation on a regular basis is an acceptable method of political discourse.

In 2000, while walking down Fillmore Street in San Francisco a spectacular article of men’s finery caught my eye. In the Garland-Dewson store window sat a majestic black felt fedora. Its’ shiny ribbon reflecting the sun’s yellow glint. With it sat a note and price tag. The note declared the hat to be identical to one worn by former Democrat San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown. Its price was a little north of 400 simoleons. Brown served thirty years (1965 to 1995) in the California State Assembly, where he rose to become that body’s first African American speaker. In 1996, he was elected San Francisco’s first African-American mayor.

President Trump has returned from the G20 summit in Osaka Japan in triumph. During his time in Asia, the President reset relations with both China and North Korea. All while continuing to implement his strategic vision for the United States to a worldwide audience. President Trump engaged in talks with Russia to begin resolving regional disputes. The President reinforced our relationships with our allies in Japan and South Korea. Then he reengaged with Xi Jinping to bring the China trade agreement closer to fruition.

Watching the British TV series, “Lark Rise to Candleford,” the other evening, we once again were rewarded with homilies and life lessons that seem to have disappeared in today’s world of irony. This time the show offered us “Before a man can know, he must be willing to know.” A statement so very true as President Trump navigates new foreign policy waters. The politically correct policies of the past. The demands for doing things as we have done them is going unheeded. President Trump is looking at US foreign adversaries in the eyes and saying “we can all live better, join us.”

Often historians and the media that rely on them, will speak of the “Founding Fathers.” Almost as if they are gods. We quote them. Argue the meanings of their arguments and writings. Nonetheless, the same people will, in the next moment cheer a concept diametrically opposed to that same quote. The mob rule of government. Most of the Founders were scholarly, erudite men. Our founders were not only writers but readers of the great teachers of bygone eras. Not only did they search the Bible, but the classic works of teachers and students of Grecian and Roman governmental innovation.

Whatever your politics, Kamala Harris had a good night in Miami. Her performance in Part 2 of the first Democratic debate was well-planned, carefully executed, ruthless and impressive. Evolving from a crusade for equal legal and property rights for women in the late 18th and early 19th century, the journey toward what we call feminism coalesced around the voting rights “suffragette” movements in America, the UK and elsewhere. But modern feminism, the current century’s radicalized version of women’s drive for equal rights, has become a radical leftist cult.

Toilet paper – the one product that the majority of us use just once and flush away – is becoming less sustainable, according to research. Analysis from Ethical Consumer magazine found that major brands were using less recycled paper than in 2011, while only five of the nine major supermarkets (the Co-op, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose) offered an own-brand recycled toilet paper. The large-scale use of virgin paper contributes to unnecessary deforestation. The UK uses 1.3m tonnes of tissue a year, according to the Confederation of Paper Industries, with the average British consumer reportedly getting through 127 rolls every

Kamala Harris, calling on the nation to “deal with the racial wealth gap,” on Saturday proposed a $100 billion federal program to help black people buy homes. The California senator said the plan, which would provide down payment and closing cost assistance of up to $25,000 to people renting or living in historically red-lined communities, would help some 4 million home-buyers. The plan’s release comes as Harris surges in Democratic presidential primary polls following a debate last week in which she chastised former Vice President Joe Biden for his past opposition to busing and former associations with segregationist senators. Britain's Ambassador to Washington has described Donald Trump as 'inept', 'insecure' and 'incompetent' in a series of explosive memos to Downing Street. Sir Kim Darroch, one of Britain's top diplomats, used secret cables and briefing notes to impugn Trump's character, warning London that the White House was 'uniquely dysfunctional' and that the President's career could end in 'disgrace'. His bombshell comments risk angering the notoriously thin-skinned President and undermining the UK's 'special relationship' with America.

The 66-year-old registered sex offender faces federal sex trafficking charges and is due to appear in court in New York on Monday. He was taken into custody by the FBI on Saturday after landing in New York following an overseas flight. Sources familiar with the matter said at least one witness outside the Justice Department and FBI started cooperating -- a breakthrough that came after Attorney General William Barr ordered U.S. Attorney John Durham to lead a separate investigation into the origins of the bureau’s 2016 Russia case that laid the foundation for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe. While the investigative phase of the inspector general’s long-running probe is said to be complete,

Nike has withdrawn a new Independence Day-themed shoe featuring the Revolutionary War-era flag after former NFL quarterback and Nike-endorser Colin Kaepernick complained that the flag was a symbol of the slave era, according to the Wall Street Journal. Nike offered a lame excuse that it had removed the shoe from retailers because “it featured an old version of the American flag.” In fact, it featured the American flag that was actually in use in 1776 on the original Fourth of July, and it is named for the pioneering Founding Mother to whom its design is commonly attributed, Betsy Ross.
