Progressive billionaire George Soros and right-leaning billionaire Charles Koch have formed an unusual alliance to advocate for pacifist foreign policy, teaming up to create an anti-war think tank known as The Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft. According to its website, the Institute “promotes ideas that move U.S. foreign policy away from endless war and toward vigorous diplomacy in the pursuit of international peace.”

This unholy alliance is the perfect example of how MONEY buys INFLUENCE. It is also why TERM LIMITS are needed to keep those who are tempted by re-election cash from becoming corrupt, bought-and-paid-for crooks who think their only job in DC is to stay permanently in office and spend money from the public trough of which over 40% is borrowed money. Incumbents are almost impossible to remove from office once elected. Time to refresh the Tree of Liberty.

I regret buying a book written by one of the Koch brothers. I thought they were conservatives. As at least one person has already written above, they are all about CONTROL. They may like conservative business policy (because they make more money that way), but ultimately they want to be in control. How else can you explain an alliance with Soros -- another control freak. No to them. No to Antifa. No to the Chamber of Commerce.

"Progressive billionaire George Soros and right-leaning billionaire Charles Koch have formed an unusual alliance to advocate for pacifist foreign policy, teaming up to create an anti-war think tank known as The Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft" We'll beat our weapons into plow shares, and the rest of the world is sure to follow? Uh, no. All this would do is weaken the United States, and make us vulnerable to attack. Soros and Koch don't care about that. Soros wants the US to fail. Koch is protecting his investments across the world. People like this are a threat to our country. How many of our 'leaders' have a price, and can be bought off? We see daily how corrupt our government has become. People like Soros and Koch, and others are behind it. Probably 90% of our elected politicians should be shown the door. We have so many corrupt bureaucrats that should be fired/jailed. This cannot continue. Our country won't survive.

As is usual for these political 'think tanks' and PACs, they are named the opposite of what they actually intend to do. Both Soros and Koch are Globalist One-World Government types, and they want to destroy U.S. Sovereignty, and our Middle Class.

NEW YORK - Support for U.S. President Donald Trump increased slightly among Republicans after he lashed out on Twitter over the weekend in a racially charged attack on four minority Democratic congresswomen, a Reuters/Ipsos public opinion poll shows. The national survey, conducted on Monday and Tuesday after Trump told the lawmakers they should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came,” showed his net approval among members of his Republican Party rose by 5 percentage points to 72%, compared with a similar poll that ran last week.

Stefan Halper, the shadowy Cambridge academic who may have helped the FBI spy on the Trump campaign, was paid more than $1 million by a U.S. agency for research papers of dubious value, according to a new government report. But even as it shed new light on Halper’s work, the report left unanswered central questions about his Trump-Russia role and raised new ones about the circuitous winds on which Washington dollars manage to fly out the window. In the months leading up to the 2016 election, Halper famously approached and questioned – sometimes amiably, sometimes aggressively --

A point has yet to be made about the four American socialist Democratic congresswomen whom President Trump is advising to go back to the places they came from. It’s not just that three of them were born in America. It’s that while Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Omar Ilhan, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley may change America, the likelihood is that America will change them even more. And it has a way of changing all of us for the better. It’s not that we agree with the Squad’s socialist sentiments. We prefer the kind of pro-growth, laissez-faire capitalism of which Mr. Trump is a tribune.

In a way, I can’t blame those who grew up in the Cold War for being pessimistic about the future. We lived then in an age of potential nuclear annihilation and Hollywood made sure that we knew about what would happen if it occurred. The studios rolled out film after film of post-apocalyptic dystopian worlds from Planet of the Apes to Soylent Green. These films were usually shot in vast desert areas in foreign countries because the truth is that America is still very, very beautiful.

America is a providential nation, chosen by God always to be a beacon of freedom and hope. In the freedom and opportunity it offers its citizens and in the example it offers to other nations, America is that "city upon a hill" envisioned by John Winthrop, first governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. By that, he meant that the pilgrim colony in New England, standing proudly as if on a hill, would be a model of goodness and right living for all to see. America is still that city upon a hill, but our future is less certain.

In 1958 Eugene Burdick and William Lederer published The Ugly American. The book was written to expose the failure of U.S. diplomatic personnel in Southeast Asia. The American diplomatic corps were boorishly indifferent to local language, customs, and culture. The book caused quite a stir in the waning days of Eisenhower’s administration, and Kennedy used it as springboard to launching the Peace Corps.(snip). A mysterious change seems to come over Americans when they go to a foreign land. They isolate themselves socially. They live pretentiously. They are loud and ostentatious."

There have now been five national polls since the first Democratic presidential primary debate. Together, the surveys, conducted by ABC News/Washington Post, Quinnipiac, CNN, The Hill/Harris, and Politico/Morning Consult, show the debate has shaken up the race. The field has separated into three clearly definable tiers, all atop a large group at the bottom made up of candidates with virtually no support. Within the first tier -- Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and Elizabeth Warren -- the leaders' positions are rapidly shifting. Since the debate, only one of the four -- Harris -- is up, while Biden, Sanders, and Warren are down.

His tweet will not live in infamy, but his cringe-worthy “go back” language rhymes with many of his earlier self-inflicted mistakes.
