For 2020 Democrats, It’s
‘Ignore The Economy, Stupid’

How do Democrats sell their policies when the economy is doing well and unemployment at 50-year lows? By avoiding the subject. At least, that’s what Democrats did during the two nights of debating. The very first question asked in the first debate, by Savannah Guthrie, was about whether the Democrats’ far-left agenda would risk the economic growth we’ve been enjoying. “Seventy-one percent of Americans say the economy is doing well, including 60% of Democrats,” she said. “What do you say to those who worry this kind of significant change could be risky to the economy?” Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the first to answer, pretended not hear the question.

Socialists don’t have any solution that works for the country, they mistake flatulence for afflatus (a divine imparting of knowledge or power).

I put the blame for 'non-answers' right on the backs of the so-called ''journalists'' asking the questions. Let them ask a Republican things like this and get non-answer waffling from them and watch for two hundred angry follow-up questions. With the Rats....''Oh, okay, that makes sense.'' Bias in the media? Naaahhhh.

When one looks at what the democrat candidates are running on, one realizes most of their issues have nothing to do with governing. It is just a government intrusion into private life. Why would anyone vote for this?

The problem for the dems is that they are trying to tell the "average American" that they are not doing very well when the average American KNOWS that jobs are plentiful (more than the available labor pool), they have a choice of places of employment, their wages are rising, and their taxes are down. They are aware that any investments they have are doing pretty well. When the dems lie about climate, or foreign relations, or other such issues, the average American might pause and consider their words, not having personal experience in these matters. But their own personal economic status? THAT they know and they know the dems either have no clue or are lying; neither of which is good for someone seeking to be elected president. Another question for the dems is, "Why are so many of your handouts targeted to your voting groups but little to Republican voting groups?". Might it be an attempt to pander for votes?

AOC gave the same ridiculous answer to "why is unemployment so low?" Because everyone has to work 2 or more jobs. Government statistics show a very small percent of workers, working 2 jobs. But, for the moment, let's say it's true. Isn't that another way of saying jobs are so plentiful, that people who want to work 2 jobs can do it?

What the democrats desperately need is a good Hope 'n Change strategy but not the same one they fell for in 2008. Unfortunately it's going to take much more than dirty tricks, lies and ballot box cheating to pull this one out. I'm already stocking up on several flavors of popcorn for election night, 2020, plus a good bottle of Chardonnay to toast in honor of Sir Edmund.

How Bureaucrats Ruin Everything From

Have you ever wondered why dishwashers today take twice as long to do a worse job of cleaning dishes? Or why it’s so much harder to get gasoline out of a new gas can? Or why cars made decades ago always turn heads, while today’s are drab in the same way? There’s a simple answer to these modern-day mysteries: Government regulators. Take the dishwasher. Earlier this month, the Department of Energy announced that it would revise its rules regarding dishwasher efficiency. Why? Because the existing rules — which set limits on how much electricity and water a dishwasher may use — are forcing manufacturers to build machines that are worse than ever.

The strongest earthquakes to hit California in decades struck last week, leaving behind a few messes and fears of more to come. The most destructive force in the state, though, is not a quivering Earth but the lawmakers who are wrecking what was once a land of promise. California has a tragic history with earthquakes. The San Francisco quake of 1906 is thought to have killed at least 3,000, forced 250,000 into the streets, and leveled “more than 500 blocks in the city center.” Eighty-three years later, the Loma Prieta quake killed 63, injured 3,800,

Friday’s jobs report showed that the economy created 224,000 new jobs, yet the unemployment rate edged up to 3.7%. Both are welcome news. The unemployment rate went up because 158,000 rejoined the labor market. These are people who previously didn’t have a job and weren’t looking for one. The labor market is tight enough that people who’d given up on work are getting lured back into the job market. And they’re finding work. As of June, there were 5.6 million more people with jobs than when President Trump took office — despite claims by prominent economists that the economy was already at full employment when he was sworn in.

Days before the U.S. celebrates Independence Day, Nike pulled sneakers back from retailers that contained a small image of the famous Betsy Ross flag on the back. Apparently that small homage to America’s founding offended the delicate sensibilities of Colin Kaepernick, the reprehensible leftist former football player who protested the national anthem, whose idea of appropriate footwear is socks depicting police officers as pigs, and who prefers shirts honoring Cuba’s murderous dictator Fidel Castro. With the first primary still eight long months away, making any sort of prediction about the Democratic candidates is pointless. Nevertheless, some have noticed an interesting parallel shaping up, one that involves an old Democrat with plenty of establishment backing and a formidable lead in the polls, and a young, biracial newcomer with a winning smile and an exotic first name. Except that where Barack Obama tried to portray himself as a sensible centrist in 2008, Sen. Kamala Harris is among the most radical in the large crop of far-left Democratic candidates hoping to run against President Trump.

What a bunch of buffoons. We don’t use that word lightly. One definition of buffoon is “a person who amuses others by ridiculous behavior.” That’s a description that fits every candidate on the stage. Each was hilariously solicitous and comically transparent. Almost before the game show applause had settled, Beto O’Rourke launched into a juvenile Spanish-language hustle that left Sen. Cory Booker wide-eyed and most everyone else rolling their eyes.
