City Council Speaker Corey Johnson announced $19 million in funding for LGBT support programs in honor of Pride, including big boosts to help transgender people. On World Pride weekend in the city, Johnson said the move to nearly double funding for the programs marks a sea change in New York’s approach to the gay community. “Acceptance is not enough,” Johnson said. “Our local government must fund programs that support the LBGTQ community, particularly transgender people.” The budget includes $2.3 million for Trans Equity Programs, $3.7 million for LGBT community services and $800,000 for LGBT inclusive curriculum in public schools.

4.5 percent of population- period. We are coerced into accepting a deviant lifestyle as normal.
I am involved with many in Alphabet designated group- love them! I don’t force them to love my lifestyle choice-
Brandon Starka from #walkaway is better articulator of my thoughts. This money push is for voting block- and a way liberals keep Gay community slaves on Democrats Plantation.

I did not realize NYC was so flush with cash that they can toss away $19 million.

How about instead of spending $19 million, the mayor gives a good speech about just being nice to people? All people, all the time.
Otherwise, you can end up spending $19 million for every wacky affectation.

With all the problems in the in the nation $19 million is spent on a small percentage of freaks and sexual deviants for what? I accepted them for what they are, disturbed whackos, but not in my house or around me. Pandering to this non-entity is sheer stupidity.

Yep! Acceptance is not enough. You must forsake your normalcy and seek a same-sex relationship immediately. Anything less is blatant homophobia!

When will the MEDIA give the same coverage to a group of the most deserving people in the country?
The number of police officers slain in the line of duty is an absolute disgrace. How about this money to
help their families with free college, funds for family readjustment.
Their job is to protect and defend all of us from harm. The laws they protect are the laws made by the people in high offices that we have elected.

What is the population of trans-gender people in New York City?
BTW, New York City, "if you build it, they will come."
Throw money at this, and your trans-gender population will grow. Just look at how Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle are handling their homeless populations.

This small community of humans do not need 19m in funds for programs. What they need is to accept Jesus as their Lord and savior.

These cities can find millions to fund immorality, but claim they don't have the funds to clean up their streets and make them usable again? Can this nation's democrat voters see the irony here? I guess not, since they keep voting them back into office.

Given the heterophobic language from the LGBQ... community, when is the hetero-community going to get a similar level of support - from government and private sources? It's time to band together, friends. Free computer dating service memberships for EVERYBODY!!

The LGBTQ concoction gets a month to celebrate what they do to each other in bed, while the military and veterans get one day to remember their fallen brothers and sisters lost and wounded on historic battlefields all over the world.
They media is claiming the 3 million people showed up to participate or watch the New York City LGBTQ Pride parade. I guess everyone loves a circus!

I can see funding to protect transgender people from themselves, but to promote and enable their lifestyles? Most of the "attacks" on transgender people are when the luck runs out for drug-addicted men posing as women and engaging in prostitution, which is a dangerous lifestyle for non-transgender woman as well. Typical NYC.
