The Supreme Court’s 5-to-4 ruling on Department of Commerce v. New York is being characterized as nothing more serious than a temporary setback regarding President Trump’s wish to reinstate a citizenship question in the 2020 U.S. Census; the administration is expected to whip up a new rationale that the high court won’t consider “contrived” and get the question in. Unfortunately it is far worse than that, and Chief Justice John Roberts is giving further sign that he is yet another unpleasant surprise in GOP appointments to the highest level of the Judicial Branch, following in the footsteps of David Souter (Bush 41),

G W Bush was very careless with his supreme court selections. I hope President Trump has the chance to make one or two more additions to the SCOTUS--he has proven his commitment to address the leftist rot.

As it turns out, it seems Roberts cares a whit about the law nor the good of America, as all Hacks do. The key to Roberts thinking is to pick a political outcome then find some way to support that conclusion. Obamacare...need I say more?

After allowing the implementation of the national disaster that was Obamacare you would think that Roberts could not top himself. Preventing or at least making the count of illegal aliens in this country impossible is more serious. How can state and federal budgets be created accurately without the knowledge that ten percent of their citizens are not really citizens? This man is actually stupid. We expected this from the Wise Latina for obvious reasons but how can any reasonable American think this way and be able to sleep at night?

If the citizenship question was called a “tax”, which it is on Americans who pay for the welfare benefits as well as for the criminal activities of this invading army, Roberts would have approved it. Roberts first opinion on Obamacare was that it was unconstitutional to mandate the purchase of a product. But when Obama created the lie that the fine for not buying health insurance was simply a tax, Roberts agreed to rule that Obamacare was constitutional.

Like any good RINO, Roberts defers to leftist ideals when needed. He's just like the person that appointed him. Somebody has the 'goods' on Roberts? Don't think so. We are seeing Roberts exactly as the person he is: A RINO. His reasoning on the citizenship census question was lame at best. The best hope we have is that Trump can appoint more Conservatives to the Supreme Court to offset Roberts. That pre-supposes that trump can find a true Conservative, and not some RINO in Conservative clothing. The real snakes in Washington are the Republicans. Too many of them mask their true intentions. The Democrats and the left are more open about their intentions daring anyone to stop them.

What bothers me about this is that this isn't a matter of different judicial philosophies in play. This is a decision to have a certain outcome, in this case not to allow a citizenship question, and then make up some new age, psychobabble "law" to explain it. The BOCare decision made no sense and neither does this. We have a Chief Justice that, to get what he wants, willingly abandons rationality.

The citizenship question ruling should now be known as the "Mother May I?" ruling because it stipulates that from now on any census questions proposed by Commerce will have to be assessed for "sincerity" by the Supreme Court before it can be used. And by extension, it can be inferred that ANY executive action may henceforth be challenged by some federal judge (9th Circus) for the same reason. And just like that, our constitution was destroyed by the court designed to protect it.

In this case adding a citizen ship question is perfectly appropriate. We have many precedent for asking that question. I would suggest that PDT ignore the court and add the question. The question of citizen ship is not a constitutional issue its a regulatory one. We have many foreign nationals entering the USA, we must have a way to cull them out. Note that the court can only suggest a legal opinion about citizenship, they have no enforcement arm. The Supreme Court has no power in this case, they have deliberated wrongly.

But it possibly related to stuffing candy bars on the bench, having little-to-no work ethic, and therefore taking large portions of games off in-between booming slams with nicknames such as “Yo Mama,” “In Your Face Disgrace,” and of course, “Sexophonic Turbo Delight.” In retrospect, the late Thunder would have made a perfect Democratic voter.

When it was time to call the candidates on stage for Tuesday night’s Democratic presidential debate, did one of the moderators yell “send in the clowns?” If not, someone should have. What a bunch of buffoons. We don’t use that word lightly. One definition of buffoon is “a person who amuses others by ridiculous behavior.” That’s a description that fits every candidate on the stage. Each was hilariously solicitous and comically transparent. Almost before the game show applause had settled, Beto O’Rourke launched into a juvenile Spanish-language hustle that left Sen. Cory Booker wide-eyed and most everyone else rolling their eyes.

Before California slips into the ocean after a massive earthquake, as some predicted decades ago that it would, it looks like it will first become America’s very own undeveloped nation. California has endured its share of Old Testament calamities in the modern world. Yet at times it seems that it will surely succumb to disasters created by its own hand. There are real monsters loose in the streets. Rats, “an army” of them “millions strong,” reports KOMO News, have “overthrown” Los Angeles. Not long ago, “officials briefly closed part of City Hall after reporting that rodents had invaded the building,” said California Healthline. “And where there are rats,”

The New York Times is crowing that President Trump is apparently indecisive, if not downright schizophrenic, in deciding how to respond to Iran’s shooting down a U.S. Navy surveillance drone in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday. We are to believe the Commander-in-Chief ordered an attack, then abruptly belayed that order – hopelessly torn, presumably, between pleasing MAGA Country and appeasing hawkish National Security Adviser John Bolton. Thankfully, the Executive Branch of the federal government is still able to maintain secrecy in conducting defense policy, and the actual deliberations on which options the President is considering probably remain unknown to the nation’s self-styled Newspaper of Record.

Plastic is the eco-activists’ favored demon of the moment. Policymakers can’t get enough of banning plastic consumer items. But the bans are worse than useless. They are counterproductive. California leads the world in virtue signaling, having outlawed single-use plastics bags, as well as plastic straws. Plastic bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and soap handed out by hotels might be the next items prohibited under California law, if lawmakers don’t ban plastics utensils first. Other states have rushed to enact bans, including Vermont, New York, and Hawaii (which has a de facto statewide ban due to multiple county bans). More cities than can be easily counted have either already

Few have ever heard of “Health Reimbursement Accounts,” but they could fundamentally change the nation’s health care system — for the better — and destroy the Democrats’ case for socialized health care. Late last week, the Trump administration finalized rules that will let companies put money into tax-exempt HRAs that their employees could then used to buy an individual insurance plan on their own. Seems like no big deal, right? Except it will start to unravel a 77-year-old policy mistake that is largely responsible for many of the problems the health care system suffers today.

The economy has collapsed. Millions have already fled. And all the while, an autocratic ruler acts with complete indifference, when he’s not trying to crush dissent and blame other countries for the misery he’s inflicting on his own. Under normal circumstances, there would be regular protests in Washington. Hollywood actors would be busy creating tear-jerker videos and making emotional award ceremony speeches.
