Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder roared up to Cannes Lions in his $180 million yacht as ad sources speculated he’s in town to find a title sponsor for the team’s new stadium. Snyder, worth an estimated $2.2 billion, hopes to build a new facility at the site of RFK Stadium—the team’s historic former home—in DC. He has reportedly been working with congressional Republicans and the Trump administration to include language in a new federal spending bill that would help pave the way for the new stadium. The Redskins’ lease for their current stadium, FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland, expires in 2027, but

Comments:

This guy surely needs taxpayer assistance to buy a new stadium. Meanwhile, the yacht crowd appears in Cannes (and Dubai) for purely philanthropic reasons, supplementing the incomes of models and actresses looking to maintain their lifestyles in exchange for a little sidework.

I live in the Phoenix area. Rush Limbaugh referred to the Cardinals Stadium as "Jiffy Pop Stadium". You can google a picture of it. Sorry - don't care who pays money to slap their name on it. It's Jiffy Pop from now on.

Dan Snyder, go pay for your own stadium. Taxpayers shouldn't subsidize rich people so they can make more money off of taxpayers.

I stopped watching them after their SJW crap started and I'll be DAMNED if they're going to use my tax dollars to support it! Tell them to get their money from the SJW's.

Not only does this reporterette have him “rolling up” in his enormous yacht, but she treats Cannes Lion as though it is a place. It is an event. Held in Cannes. Like ad week.

#11, the headline says "rolls", while the article says roars. Most yachts do not 'roar' but who knows maybe this one does. Most are designed to be very luxurious and QUIET. In any case, an inane article. I really do not care how much the rich spend on themselves. It is THEIR money, and I do not envy them, or despise them because they have a bunch. I have a bunch more than some folks, and a bunch less than others. So what? I earned mine, too.

UC Santa Cruz has announced that it will remove historic bells from the “Spanish Missions” after members of the community called them offensive. According to a report by Campus Reform, the University of California, Santa Cruz, will remove a major historical artifact from campus. The reason? Many in the UC Santa Cruz community argued that the artifact is offensive. The “Spanish Mission” bells were used between 1769 and 1833 to highlight the path of the 21 California Missions, which were constructed to evangelize Native Americans. Now, the school views these bells as symbols of past oppression.(Snip) Valentin Lopez, chairman
