Sometime during the next two weeks, the Supreme Court is expected to hand down its ruling on whether the Census Bureau may include a question in the 2020 census asking if the person filling out the form is a U.S. citizen. If you think that’s a sensible question to ask in a nation whose population swells every year with immigrants from all over the planet, that means you’re in step with 60 percent of registered voters. It does, however, put you at odds with the Democrats, various leftwing activist groups, and an Obama-appointed judge in New York. Enter SCOTUS.

Some apparently think he can, based on past performance.

I think will be rolled. I don't get it. How can we have a census asking all kinds of questions and not ask if they are citizens of the USA? That should be the first question.

Roberts has already demonstrated his ability to see law where none existed before - he will cave. Kiss your vote goodbye.

The Constitution makes no mention of counting citizens. So, I think the court will rule asking about citizenship to be NOT supported by the Constitution. At the same time, it doesn't say that it counts the number of men or women. It doesn't say that the census can't ask all the questions that have traditionally be asked. So, I think that they will say that it's okay to ask about citizenship. Citizenship is public information.

Trump needs to get a couple more conservative judges on the court to override Roberts betrayal.

The Constitution calls for an enumeration, not a survey of how many cars you have or whether you have a mortgage.
Count the number of people (and their dependents) who file taxes - folks with actual skin in the game - for a fairer distribution of Representatives to Congress. That alone will eliminate the AOCs and 3/4s of liberal states' representation.

Years ago, when Roberts was first placed on the Court, I read an Article about his and his wife's Questionable Adoption of their Children. I don't know if it was true or not, there wasn't much follow up, but I always thought it certainly would explain WHY he saved Obamacare. Most of us would do ANYTHING to insure the safety of our Children. If someone is calling the shots on his votes by threatening to expose something about that Adoption, it should be looked into before he does anymore damage to our country.

We need one more solid conservative on the Court. Then Roberts can be centrist all he wants.

It remains to be seen how the US Supreme Court will decide this issue.
But one thing is for sure the leftist and liberal Democrats in the Congress are allowing the USA to be flooded with illegal aliens, last month alone 140,000 illegal aliens unlawfully crossed the borderline into the USA, and because of Democrat congressional intransigence those numbers will most likely raise to one and a half million this year alone. Unfortunately those Democrats are joined by a good number of Congressional Republicans who are in the pockets of the Chamber of Commerce and other business lobbying groups that want as much cheap foreign labor to be able to enter the USA, both illegally and legally who can then easily be hired in the USA at very low wages, thus lowering business labor expenses and raising up business profits, ensuring the continued enrichment of the international investor class to the detriment of American workers.
The Democrats know that the vast majority of illegal aliens are poor, uneducated, and socialist minded people from underdeveloped or undeveloped countries, who once in the USA will travel to, and set up residence in immigrant and low income communities around the country that are Democrat political strongholds. Once there they will be counted in the 2020 Federal Census. When millions of illegal aliens are counted in Democrat communities, those huge numbers of illegal aliens included in the Census become the basis to reapportion additional congressional seats into those areas, that essentially create new congressional districts that can easily be won by Democrat socialist candidates with low vote counts. As although aliens are counted in the new congressional district total constituency figures, they cannot vote in US elections, resulting in a much smaller voter pool then in other congressional districts that have stable constituency populations consisting of mostly all US citizens. When that kind reapportionment of congressional seats takes place based upon the numbers of illegal aliens living in one area, another area looses their congressional representation, and the loosing area is usually populated mostly by US citizens.
While the Democrats recognize that once legalized and granted US voting rights that the vast majority of illegal aliens will become natural Democrat socialist voters, useful to transform the USA into a minority majority socialist utopia, and keeping the Democrats in permanent political power, a lot of Congressional Republicans still have a much narrower focus when it comes to mass uncontrolled illegal immigration, cheap foreign labor is good for them, their business lobbying godfathers, business profits, and business investors.

Poster #4 makes a good point. If it is OK to ask all the other questions outside of how many people live in the residence, then there should be no problem with the citizenship one.
But then I'm only a normal, logically thinking adult, not a special smarter than everybody else Lord of the Black Robe Order, so what do I know.

#7 hit the nail on the head. Think Operation Hammer, the Obama weaponizing of US intelligence gathering technology to spy/compromise millions of Americans illegally. Roberts is compromised by blackmail. Now, the question is, has he been freed by Trump and the White Hats? We'll see. WWG1WGA! MAGA! KAG!

If Roberts can be blackmailed, he needs to be removed from the SCOTUS.
I've had some personal experience with adoption. While I respect the issues of privacy, what I have read of the Roberts' adoption does seem fishy. There is no reason to hide the children's country of origin. And there is no reason to avoid addressing reasonable questions about the adoption.
I've see situations where a birth mother doesn't want to release any information. But for the adopting parents to maintain secrecy, that's a bit disconcerting.
John Roberts was presented to the Republican Party in the same "pure as the wind driven snow" manner that Robert Mueller was presented to America. I remember Hugh Hewitt - back when I listed to him - thought his guy was the bees knees. Hewitt has proven to be a real a** when it comes to John Roberts.
I'm thinking now that we overlooked some things. Perhaps we overlooked them deliberately.
