Biden tells Iowans: ‘Probably a lot of
you don’t know where Delaware is’

An East Coast liberal running for president dropped in on the bumpkins in Iowa today and insulted their intelligence. Joe Biden campaigned at Clinton Community College this morning and was touting Obamacare, and attempted to connect with the gun-toting, pickup-driving, Bible-reading rubes. (Video)“Delaware has a lot of small towns like y’all do,” he said, getting folksy with the country simpletons. “I know y’all think of Delaware as being this east— first of all, probably a lot of you don’t know where Delaware is, but anyway…” “‘I know Delaware, Rhode Island, I’ve been there,'” he said, apparently mimicking an Iowa yokel. He went on to tell a story about one of his staffers

What a joke, Joe. Yep, those rubes in Iowa are really stupid. Oh, but wait! Iowans actually studied geography while the eastern liberal elites were sitting in transgender poetry seminars. SAT scores for Iowa high schoolers are about 150 points higher than their Delaware counterparts, and possibly 275 points higher than yours.

Well, having lived in Newark (New ARK, not New ERK) for a couple of years, Joe is saying what a lot of Delawareans think (and is not too far off). Many people I spoke with before I left thought that Delaware was tucked somewhere between Vermont and New Hampshire. Joe's a fool, but this is broken clock territory.

I am sure that the percentage of Iowans that can not successfully identify Delaware on a map is considerably lower than the percentage of Delawareans that can not identify Iowa on the same map. For the record, I am not running for anything in Delaware and do not need the votes of Delawareans. My situation is in stark contrast to that of Mr. Biden.

Telling Iowa people that they probably don’t have a clue as to where the State of Delaware is located, is essentially telling them that he thinks that they are pretty dumb! That’s essentially like Biden telling Iowans that he thinks that the word Iowa stand for “Idiots Out Walking Around” while thinking that would be a political winner for him.

Seems to me the more salient issue, Joe, is whether YOU even know where it is. Your driver knows how to get there. And you generally know when you're there. But if we showed you a satellite photo of the U.S. east coast, could you identify where Delaware is? Even if we drew the state boundaries over it, could you identify which state is Delaware? I'd be willing to bet that you don't have a clue.

Trouble with this statement by Biden is that it is probably correct. I worked with an RN in a hospital who didn't know where Maryland was on a U.S. map. The hospital where we worked was in Maryland. Considering the sorry education system in this country run by Socialists, I suspect there are quite a few people who would have a hard time with geography.

One of my better friends was born and raised in Davenport until joining the Marines at 18 and he wouldn't be caught dead saying "ya'all" --- especially in a drawl. In fact, other than incorrectly saying "pop" for "soda" he sounds flawless to my New York ears! Wonder if Joe also educated the yokels that Delaware was not only a slave state but refused to free their slaves after Lee surrendered in April, 1865? The farmers of Delaware literally waited to free their slaves until they were forced to so by the passing of the 13th Amendment on December 18, 1865 --- a full 8 months later.
