President Donald Trump’s latest win — using threats of escalating tariffs to stop the nation of Mexico from doubling as an express lane for illegal immigrants — takes me back to a political coup I participated in as a PR consultant in Austria. My client was the Alpine Republic’s environment minister, an up-and-coming member of the People’s (Conservative) Party, then junior partner to the Social Democrats in a grand coalition. The minister was in full-blown crisis when her implementation of a recycling mandate — requiring the separation of a stunning range of waste categories — produced overflowing bins in major cities.

The President always seems to hold the best poker hand and the left can't do anything but complain, question and display extreme jealousy at his success. He acted upon Mexico's greatest weakness, their total reliance on the United States, and it finally got their attention. The Africans at the border are one final attempt by the billionaire lunatic who wants to destroy our country but just can't apply any kind of stranglehold. Once all of the illegal Mexicans are deported I hope that Trump goes after Soros, Clinton, Obama, Romney, Kerry, and the half of Congress that is helping with the "Make America Weak Again" campaign and sends them to the Socialist country of their choice. John McCain gets a pass because it's not nice to dig people up and move them.

Negotiation is not war. It's problem solving. Sometimes you have to go hard to get their attention and be willing to back it (walk out) but then you can focus on solving the problem. Mexico got told. But what we're not reading is how much help they got in other areas.

What President Trump understands is that the ''rules'' of governing, foreign relations, and dealing with the opposition party were all written by the opposition (democrats and sympathetic Republicans) to apply only to Republicans. These ''rules'' are not law or even official policy. They are nothing more than unwritten restrictions, to be obeyed voluntarily, by milk toast Republicans (I won't even call them conservatives!) President Trump has upset their apple cart by ignoring those restrictions that the opposition has tried to hold him to. He does what is in the best interest of America and ALL it's citizens (with the exception of the one-world government enthusiasts and elitists, who prosper from America's misfortunes.) Our sovereignty is what keeps us free from the tyrants and dictators of the world. One-world government is their goal, and open borders is one of the tools to achieve that goal.

There is absolutely no way that congress can solve the illegal immigration problem. Congress is totally dysfunctional. That's why Trump has to do it himself.

People complaining about President Trump should come up with solutions. Ryan, McConnell & Pelosi did Zero. What was he supposed to do? We already have 1/2 million illegals since January. Thank you President Trump. He didn’t cater to the chamber of commerce, fake republicans or the so called media.

Lake Erie and Lake Superior — two of the five that make up the Great Lakes — broke records for water levels this May. Lakes Michigan and Huron could follow suit. Naturally, climate change is getting the blame. “We are undoubtedly observing the effects of a warming climate in the Great Lakes,” says Richard Rood, a University of Michigan climate scientist. But just a few years ago, climate scientists were insisting that a warming climate would cause water levels to decline. In 2008, Science Daily reported on a study that attributed the decline in Great Lakes water levels to global warming.

The debate over the Trump Administration’s proposed citizenship question on the 2020 Census is heating up again. A federal judge in New York held a hearing on this question this week, and the U.S. Supreme Court will rule on this matter by month’s end. The Right seems tongue-tied on this issue amid the Left’s predictable and vile claims that this question is fueled by — what else? — racism. Kristen Clarke, president of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, said the citizenship question is “nothing more than a pretext to carry out the Trump Administration’s racist agenda.”

When Bernie Sanders crashed Walmart’s shareholder meeting Wednesday and lectured executives on how they should run their business, CEO Doug McMillon should have laughed him out of the room for his ill-informed claims and for pushing a minimum wage hike that would hurt the very people it’s supposed to help. Instead, McMillon waved the white flag. He told the company’s owners that the current federal minimum wage is “too low” and that “it’s time for Congress to put a thoughtful plan in place to increase the minimum wage.” Let’s look at what Sanders claimed in his remarks.

Even while surrounded by military dictatorships and poverty, Venezuela at one time prospered with a strong economy and stable society. Today, three Latin American nations produce more oil than Venezuela, though it has the world’s largest proven reserves of crude, and just getting sick is nearly the same as death for some children. It has rightly been called the “biggest economic disaster in modern history.” “Hospital shortages,” says the headline of an Agence France-Presse story posted on Yahoo News in late May, are “a death sentence for Venezuelan children.” Half of the children who aren’t dying can’t get enough to eat.

Before climate change became a belief system in which humans are expected to perform penance for their sins against Gaia, recycling was the religion of many in the modern world. Those who didn’t reduce, reuse, and recycle were, and still are, considered heretics. Nearly a quarter century ago, John Tierney wrote in the New York Times Magazine that “Recycling Is Garbage.” In an article that produced the greatest volume of hate mail in the magazine’s history, Tierney said that rather than recycling, “the simplest and cheapest option is usually to bury garbage in an environmentally safe landfill.” With the exception of a few items — aluminum cans, cardboard, office paper

"I am not the first President to take up this cause, but I am determined to be the last.” That was how then-President Barack Obama pitched Obamacare to a joint session of Congress on Sept. 9, 2009. He described a health care system in crisis and promised that his reforms would “provide more security and stability to those who have health insurance. It will provide insurance for those who don’t. And it will slow the growth of health care costs for our families, our businesses, and our government.” Nearly a decade after having his vision realized, how have his promises worked out?

A scruffy, hippie-ish animal rights demonstrator with long beard, long hair in a bun, and blue jeans leapt onto the stage and grabbed the mike from Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris during MoveOn.org’s “Big Ideas Forum” in San Francisco on Saturday, before being shuffled away by security. If you were the left-wing Democratic Party operative moderating the event, you think, “too bad it wasn’t a right winger wearing a MAGA hat. We could blame it on Trump!” Right? Wrong. Late last month, the Congressional Research Service released a report entitled “The Economic Effects of the 2017 Tax Revision: Preliminary Observations.” “On the whole, the growth effects tend to show a relatively small (if any) first-year effect on the economy,” the CRS found, adding that “Although examining the growth rates cannot indicate the effects of the tax cut on GDP, it does tend to rule out very large effects in the near term.” A number of media outlets, as could be expected, went apoplectic, declaring that the Trump tax cuts have nothing to do with the booming economy, and thus also won’t make up any of the revenue lost.

Bernie Sanders is mad. He fulminates about the abundance of consumer choices, such as “23 underarm spray deodorants” and “18 different pairs of sneakers.” He rails against credit card companies because he thinks their interest rates are too high. He thunders over the prices Americans pay for prescription drugs. The Democratic senator from Vermont, who is truly a socialist, having campaigned for a Marxist group in the 1980s, is perpetually upset with the way private banks conduct their business, and forever enraged at corporations for making profits. Robert F. Smith’s tremendous act of generosity astounded the nation and the world. Media outlets across the globe covered his commencement address to Morehouse College’s class of 2019 in which he announced that he will donate tens of millions of dollars to pay the student loan debts of 400 people, most of whom he likely doesn’t even know. While the dollar amount is, of course, impressive, what really makes this story exceptional is that it is an act of free will. The fact that this donation was voluntary and deliberate is important to recognize as our country is increasingly receptive to socialist ideas.

In an editorial published last week, Bloomberg (the news site, not the former mayor) declares that the only way cities can “dramatically improve air quality and extend lives shortened by pollution” is to follow the lead of places like Amsterdam and “ban (non-electric) cars.” “Cities should offer up-front incentives to buy zero-emission cars, for instance, as well as non-financial benefits such as parking vouchers. Higher taxes on petrol and diesel cars — whether via congestion tolls or at the pump — will encourage drivers to switch and offset some of the costs of the transition,” the editorial board says.

There is nothing normal about undermining the rule of law,” she said, per the Associated Press. “There is nothing normal about attacking the press.

The deal to avert tariffs that President Trump announced with great fanfare on Friday night consists largely of actions that Mexico had already promised to take in prior discussions with the United States over the past several months, according to officials from both countries who are familiar with the negotiations. Friday’s joint declaration says Mexico agreed to the “deployment of its National Guard throughout Mexico, giving priority to its southern border.” But the Mexican government had already pledged to do that in March during secret talks in Miami between Kirstjen Nielsen, then the secretary of homeland security, and Olga Sanchez, the Mexican secretary of the interior, the officials said.

Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton believes President Trump's administration is a gateway to fascism. "The idea that it can't happen here is just old-fashioned, my friends,” the former secretary of state warned this weekend during an address at Wellesley College. Her remarks came with a specific reference to former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright's new book, Fascism: A Warning. How seriously should we take any “warning” written by a former secretary of state who mocked 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney when he cautioned about the growing Russian threat? The agreement means low-income adults between the ages of 19 and 25 living in California illegally would be eligible for California’s Medicaid program, the joint state and federal health insurance program
