A scruffy, hippie-ish animal rights demonstrator with long beard, long hair in a bun, and blue jeans leapt onto the stage and grabbed the mike from Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris during MoveOn.org’s “Big Ideas Forum” in San Francisco on Saturday, before being shuffled away by security. If you were the left-wing Democratic Party operative moderating the event, you think, “too bad it wasn’t a right winger wearing a MAGA hat. We could blame it on Trump!” Right? Wrong. It’s still Trump’s fault!

This from ex-Obama campaign aide Karine Jean-Pierre (talk about Trump living rent-free in someone's head), "And what he has done, he has, you know, exasperated it for his own self-interest, and to move his political whatever-he-wants out of it, including the presidency clearly." Not particularly coherent. "...exasperated..." indeed. Stupid and insane is no way to go through life; to paraphrase Dean Wormer.

A more accurate description is that they had lousy security surrounding a sitting US Senator, which allowed a delusional crackpot to come in direct contact with her. For some reason moveon.org doesn't seem to like it when their own tactics are used against them by one of their own loons.

Hmm... this reads like some haven't read the piece before commenting. McArdle's point about the Orwellian left is dead on. His conclusion: As comically absurd as her remarks may be, they should serve as a serious warning: your individual good deeds or transgressions will not matter to a state in which the left rules. You will be sentenced based on who and what your rulers decide you are. If you are not them, you are the enemy. Any logic that says otherwise is a subversive tactic of the enemy.

Recycling: America’s False Religion 16 replies
Posted by RockyTCB 6/5/2019 8:00:05 AM Post Reply
Before climate change became a belief system in which humans are expected to perform penance for their sins against Gaia, recycling was the religion of many in the modern world. Those who didn’t reduce, reuse, and recycle were, and still are, considered heretics. Nearly a quarter century ago, John Tierney wrote in the New York Times Magazine that “Recycling Is Garbage.” In an article that produced the greatest volume of hate mail in the magazine’s history, Tierney said that rather than recycling, “the simplest and cheapest option is usually to bury garbage in an environmentally safe landfill.” With the exception of a few items — aluminum cans, cardboard, office paper

"I am not the first President to take up this cause, but I am determined to be the last.” That was how then-President Barack Obama pitched Obamacare to a joint session of Congress on Sept. 9, 2009. He described a health care system in crisis and promised that his reforms would “provide more security and stability to those who have health insurance. It will provide insurance for those who don’t. And it will slow the growth of health care costs for our families, our businesses, and our government.” Nearly a decade after having his vision realized, how have his promises worked out?

Late last month, the Congressional Research Service released a report entitled “The Economic Effects of the 2017 Tax Revision: Preliminary Observations.” “On the whole, the growth effects tend to show a relatively small (if any) first-year effect on the economy,” the CRS found, adding that “Although examining the growth rates cannot indicate the effects of the tax cut on GDP, it does tend to rule out very large effects in the near term.” A number of media outlets, as could be expected, went apoplectic, declaring that the Trump tax cuts have nothing to do with the booming economy, and thus also won’t make up any of the revenue lost.

Bernie Sanders is mad. He fulminates about the abundance of consumer choices, such as “23 underarm spray deodorants” and “18 different pairs of sneakers.” He rails against credit card companies because he thinks their interest rates are too high. He thunders over the prices Americans pay for prescription drugs. The Democratic senator from Vermont, who is truly a socialist, having campaigned for a Marxist group in the 1980s, is perpetually upset with the way private banks conduct their business, and forever enraged at corporations for making profits. When he speaks, he comes off as that bitter man who shakes his fist

Robert F. Smith’s tremendous act of generosity astounded the nation and the world. Media outlets across the globe covered his commencement address to Morehouse College’s class of 2019 in which he announced that he will donate tens of millions of dollars to pay the student loan debts of 400 people, most of whom he likely doesn’t even know. While the dollar amount is, of course, impressive, what really makes this story exceptional is that it is an act of free will. The fact that this donation was voluntary and deliberate is important to recognize as our country is increasingly receptive to socialist ideas.

In an editorial published last week, Bloomberg (the news site, not the former mayor) declares that the only way cities can “dramatically improve air quality and extend lives shortened by pollution” is to follow the lead of places like Amsterdam and “ban (non-electric) cars.” “Cities should offer up-front incentives to buy zero-emission cars, for instance, as well as non-financial benefits such as parking vouchers. Higher taxes on petrol and diesel cars — whether via congestion tolls or at the pump — will encourage drivers to switch and offset some of the costs of the transition,” the editorial board says.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller spent 10 minutes publicly stating that his 448-page, two-part, $35 million and 22-months-in-the-making report speaks for itself, as he announced he was closing shop and retiring. In so doing, he said he couldn’t charge a sitting President with a crime, but if he could have exonerated him he would have said so. This starkly politicizes presidential investigations going forward and indicts, if we may say so, the already-dubious system of weaponizing a lawyer with a blank check, no deadline, and an open-ended mandate for him to fish where he likes with minimal oversight.

Baker's original flag included eight colored stripes, each with a different meaning: pink for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for

President Trump’s threat to impose tariffs on all Mexican imports until Mexico takes serious action to control its border with the U.S. shocked the Washington Beltway, Wall Street, and the Palacio Nacional in Mexico City. These centers of financial and political power, lulled by a U.S. Congress that has refused to act and activist federal judges who have stymied Trump’s border control efforts at every step, were jolted awake by Trump’s ultimatum. But they should not have been surprised. The president issued a similar threat back in April. Let’s be clear about a few things regarding “carbon taxes”. First, the system of taxing carbon emissions, also known as “cap-n-trade”, has absolutely nothing to do with climate change. Second a “carbon tax” is the holy grail for the totalitarian globalist world view. The concept of a tax on carbon emissions was developed inside the same financial network of multinational monetary interests that control the current global trade system. Powerful financial interests directly connected to The World Bank (WB), International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Trade Organization (WTO), together with global banking interests connected to Wall Street and

It didn’t come from FBI intelligence.
