Rachel Maddow’s Ratings

Following the collapse of the Mueller investigation, Rachel Maddow’s ratings have continued to plummet, with her MSNBC show losing 700,000 viewers since January. Maddow hit her peak in January this year when she averaged 3.3 million viewers. However, that number dipped to 3.1 million in February and saw further declines from March onwards when the ‘Russian collusion’ narrative began to unravel. She averaged 2,608,000 viewers per night with 410,000 in the key 25-54 age demographic in May, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The sad part of this is that when Rachel occasionally does a neutral story, she can be an excellent interviewer. But her talents have been wasted with the fake news pursuit of President Trump. And MSNBC can't change, I suspect. (she is perhaps the most intelligent commentator on TV. She has a Ph.D. from the University of London. Her doctorate is almost as good as mine.)

The feel good story for the day. What an unpleasant person. I had the misfortune to, out of ignorance and inattention when flipping channels, to stop and listen to this person once. I had no idea who she/he/it was at that time. But quickly, I developed an aversion, then heard the name then looked and saw the channel, which I never, ever intentionally watch. So, I listened once for 20-30 seconds a few years back. Way plenty enough for a lifetime.

I never believed she had high ratings to begin with. I followed ratings for years. The most she eve got before Trump was elected was around 700,000. Then suddenly she's getting over 3 million? Nah. Soros funded lots of click rooms. Guess he gave up on that.

I guess that people just do not like her. If she had anything newsworthy, they can overlook the odious part of her personality, but when you combine un-likeability with little to add to the conversation, then ratings will certainly plummet to where they are and well below that mark.

When viewers realized that she was lying to them about the president and the republicans plus her shenanigans with the Trump tax papers, they likely chose not to give them their time anymore. Personally, I can't stand to look at her, period! She fits right in with the other losers on that network. Can I say I am having a shadenfruidan moment? Well, I just did. And how sweet it is!

An undercover video just released as part of a report on one of the largest technology companies in the world indicates the corporate Goliath is bent on never letting somebody like Donald Trump come to power again. "We all got screwed over in 2016, again it wasn't just us, it was, the people got screwed over, the news media got screwed over, like, everybody got screwed over so we're rapidly been like, what happened there and how do we prevent it from happening again." A huge plague of locusts is wreaking havoc on the Italian island of Sardinia in the worst insect invasion in more than 60 years, local media report. Large swarms are destroying crops and invading homes in Ottana and Orani in the central province of Nuoro. More than 2,000 hectares of farmland has been destroyed by "blankets" of the insects, reports said. The locust invasion has been linked to a recent rise in temperatures after months of cooler weather on the island. "There are millions in the countryside," the Italian farmers' association Coldiretti warned in a statement on Monday.

The U.S. diplomatic corps, much of which hails from far-Left Ivy League institutions, has been the most defiant when it comes to obeying POTUS Donald Trump’s policies, as evident by the fact that several American embassies have hoisted the “gay pride” rainbow flag in defiance of the president. After the Trump administration formally denied requests from multiple United States embassies to hoist the LGBT flag in honor of “Pride Month,” several of them, along with other diplomatic missions, are doing it anyway.

A group of Oklahoma teens have been praised as heroes after they reportedly broke into the burning home of a 90-year-old neighbor and saved her from the flames. Catherine Ritchie, 90, was at home last month in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, when the blaze started, she told KTUL-TV in Tulsa. "I was getting ready for bed in the bathroom, and I turned around, and my bed, the head of my bed, was covered in flames," she said. Ritchie said she tried to put out the fire, but soon realized she wouldn't be able to and called 911. But the smoke was building.

We were all wondering if he would veer from his remarks, go off of his script but he stayed on script, stayed on message and, I think, rose to the moment,” Acosta said on CNN immediately following the speech.

Late last week, thousands of pages of documents in the Jussie Smollett case, including emails, text messages, police reports and court records, were released. While their release has laid bare some of the inner workings of the Chicago District Attorney’s office, including its fraught relationship with the city’s police department, the documents have raised more questions than they’ve answered about the spectacle surrounding the Empire actor. As of early May, Empire writers were speaking openly about the possibility of Smollett's return to the show.

The election began on Thursday, but most of the EU’s 28 member states, including the biggest of all, Germany and France, are voting on Sunday, and the results are expected overnight.

We can win on this issue. Democrats don’t want all citizens to be treated equally. Democrats want people treated differently and according to their skin color. They want group justice. Last week, the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties held the first hearing in a decade on H.R. 40, the Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act. The bill was first introduced in 1989 by former Congressman John Conyers (D-MI). Conyers reintroduced the bill each year until his retirement in 2017 — and each year, the bill languished in Congress.
